my friend is on windows 11 and tries to load this mod but it takes him to the normal homeworld mod

so i redownloaded the game and wanted to replay this mod but every time i try to launch it from the launcher as specified, nothing seems to happen ? the game launches but its not modded at all. any idea what's up ?

hey mod authors, i dont like how little rus i start with in the shimmering missions how do i give myself more to start off with? Yeah look idc if it defeats the point of them being challenging i just wanna be overpowered

Thanks, I saw this several months later. I gave up unpacking it and moved on. This helps a ton. Ironically there are more carriers to strikecraft in this mod so I can barely field 4-6 complete carrier strike groups. Thanks again, and its been good talking to you. Been a fan since UAW.

@Talos: If you use the launcher make sure that your game language to be set to English. FX should also be the only mod you launch with. Map/emblem packs are okay.

If the issue persists please contact us on the Discord mentioned in the description so we can maybe work out the problem.

I ask for help with launching the mod version. We want to play multiplayer with our friends. But to do this, you need the game to be launched through the launcher. The game crashes through the launcher. If you make a label with the prescription of bigs, then everything works. But in this case there is no network connection. Someone can tell you how to launch the game through the launcher. Thanks!

Yeah, they have an open Git Depository of the uncompiled files. You can grab those and run it with your changes as a local mod.

I got a question, now that this version has stopped development, would it be possible to allow us to edit the files in the game? I want to increase the unit caps but it won't let me do it using the way to edit most mods. Would that be possible?

FX was originally a race port mod for HW2(c), and since the TAI didn't exist in HW2C we had to make something to not end up having to use HW1 textures. When HWRM came out most of the team preferred their versions over the HWRM TAI models, and since a lot of work was put into them they wanted to use them a bit longer. So the Fighters/Corvettes and utility ships were changed to HWRM, and the Frigates/Cap Ships kept using the HW2 FX models.

also question about HW2 FX, why are the textures for the taiidan using the old ones? always wondered why but never remembered to make a comment til now lol

HW3 FX is still in a very early stage. The team is cooking hard, but we (and the other mods working on HW3) should have progressed to a decent point once the game gets a big discount.

@hey bud, most of the facilities to build the fighters and corvettes can be built at the mothership but to get more you gotta build the "mothership lv1 and lv2" at the nubla to get the frigates and other cap ships. hope that helps :]

Hey just wanted to say I've been loving this mod for a long time and just wanted to say thanks for making this mod. All the factions are super cool and kadeshi are my favorite by far. Hope y'all are doing alright and keep up the good work!

Can't wait to see what mod you would make on hw3 if you do, and thanks again for makin this mod and giving me kadeshi brain rot lol

+Joe: I think the best thing you can do is just give it a try and see if you like it yourself ) It's just good to keep in mind that it's a personal/for fun project, so obviously some things won't be as polished as the main mod.

As for HW3, personally I think the foundation is there. Gameplay has issues but looks salvageable with some patches. Story is a blight on the franchise.
For modding it depends on how much GBX and BBI will commit with patches and modding tools, and how much of an issue Denuvo will be. It's too early to tell.

Thanks for the reply. Would you recommend it for someone that loves the FX Mod overall? How different is it compared to FX Galaxy in your opinion? Also; how do you and the other developers of FX Galaxy like Homeworld 3 so far? What are your impressions overall? Do you see the potential for continuing FX Galaxy into Homeworld 3; and if not; would you still continue working on the Remastered Edition?

+Joe: Hi. New Age is more of private project by one of the FXmod developers, you can see it as a sandbox take on FX:G + various other assets/races thrown into it. It's not an official FXmod project.

Can you explain what exactly is FX Galaxy: A New Age Turning Point?
Is it is a sub mod overall that includes the Homeworld Mobile ships into FX Galaxy Remastered? Also; is it just me or is the difficulty extremely hard even on easy while using A New Age? AI spams everything within 2 minutes.

Right now, the team is busy translating the game into Chinese with other 9CCN members and Chinese fans (the provided CN translation is also a mess). In-between research on how to mod HW3 has begun.

But ultimately, it all depends on how far we can go on HW3..without BBI's support, everything would be difficult. HW3 came out the other day, some of us haven't even finished the campaign, so it's too early to tell yet )

Thanks, now it works. And the AI kicks my ass every time. They just spam ships to no end way faster than a player can, which I think isnt normal. Because when Im with a few destroyers and a good fleet of frigates, I face hundreds of fighters, bombers and frigates. Maybe something to check.

@The Fox: The most common issue is that people don't have their game language set to English. See if the Troubleshooting part in the mod description above helps for you.
@Jiaory: Pressing the same shortcut as the camera that you bound to should undo it, otherwise restarting the game should help.
@cuh: Use their ability.

Has anyone else had issues unbinding the camera? I've somehow locked it to a weird angle and the Shift+F Shift+E Shift+X options are not resetting it

the mod works well. the visual are inline with the remastered edition. the added capturable relic is a nice gamplay addition.
but,
the way you upgrade your technology is convoluted. it takes time to understand what you need to do to unlock the next units which is a big design flaw.
it takes so much time to unlock everything one by one (as you cannot unlock the tech you want but need to unlock everything one after the other instead, which is another big design flaw.) that you just spam the carriers untils you get to build frigates. which create a silly carrier warfare early - midgame if you have enough ressources.

@juju: A crash on launch probably means your game language wasn't set to English. After removing the mod re-sub to it on steam, let it download. Launch HW once without mods, and then launch with FX after.

bentusi defense too hard, why can't I set it to easier? Too many units at once, I can't do the "rock paper scissors" when the enemy has every counter.

AI goes absolutely bonkers spam even though I set it to 'harmless' for testing.
Its got like 20 frigates and 5 capital ships and it's impossible to do anything because it's just spam spam spam

+Onkel Benz: Hi - happy to hear you like it. Desyncs are an issue with HWRM sadly, especially on larger mods they started happening a lot more after the 2.0 patch. There is no easy way to fix it, but here is a copypaste of some things that may help from our discord:

-Have the person with the most stable/best internet connection host the room. Do a speedtest with your friends to find out who this is.
-Connect an Ethernet cable instead of using WiFi.
-Disable the [Tactical Report] option in Multiplayer.
-Lower your graphics settings, and limit the clutter on the screen. Examples:
*Stick to the [DEFAULT] unit cap, Battle Scars set to [OFF].
*Lower your texture quality to "6"/size limit to 4096 (or lower) in Options.
*Stick to 2v2 or smaller matches where possible.
*Use a smaller variety of races when you are with more people (instead of everyone using a different race).
*Play FX Competitive Deathmatch instead of normal FX Deathmatch.

One of the best mods for Homeworld! I hope that work on the mod will continue and complete the Bentusi race. The only pity is that Kushan and Taiidan spoiled

+Enserric: Maybe a file got corrupted while downloading. Have you tried following the steps under "Troubleshooting"? Or, if that doesn't work, can you check if the BETA version works for you?
