I'll add some love to this and hope you end up making your joke more compatible. Honestly? I just really love the idea of a crimelord/warlord state, but even more, I'm constantly on the hunt for mod civs that resemble Venice if you get what I mean. Do please point me towards any others you may have made.

Still, for a joke it is a pretty good idea- decent balanced and challenging. Maybe one day you will find the spirit to make a civoclopedia-friendly version. I keep hoping!

Haha, @jorisgoedbloed, that's true. I initially released this mod as something of a joke. I have to admit I do find it fun to play, and I'm pretty sure I could make it work using Lua files in such a way that it prevents the civilopedia from breaking, but it's more work than I feel like putting in at this point.

This mod messes up your Civoclopedia: the improvements tab, religion tab and civilizations tab do not work properly anymore. Shame, because otherwise the idea is great!

Hey there are plenty of religious mobsters. Also the Capo vehicles are essentially WWI medics. I've seen the sideways graphic glitch before and all I can recommend is reinstalling the mod or refreshing your mod cache.

One hilariously counter-intuitive thing I've found with this mod... between Desert Folklore (+2 faith per desert tile) and Divine Inspiration (+2 faith per wonder... including casinos), Las Vegas makes for a really powerful... holy city? I generally make sure to rename the religion "Hedonism" unless I manage to get Catholicism first.

hi im haveing probs with the capo(great genrals) the cars are pointed into the ground and theyre not whats pictured they apear military and have a plus sign on them? any ideas how to fix this ? i really want to play this civ witout this annoying issue

Buffed Casinos.

Casino Wonders contain one various Great Work slot and provide +2 Happiness, Culture and Gold.

Previously they provided +1 Culture and +1 Gold.

I have the game saved the turn before a crash, so I will figure out how to enable logs (something I know nothing about, as I am just a mod user, not a tinkerer) and check. Send me a chat or personal message if you have more questions for me or instruction on what you want from the logs sent back.

Anyhow, this is a cool mod. Regardless of whether this crash issue gets fixed, I am going to try the Appalachian Empire next.

@The_Crow's_Eye, I'm really interested in this issue. I've never seen it before, so I'm going to look into it now that I have the time. If you have any logs enabled, I'd be interested to see if they say anything about CIVILIZATION_VEGAS or something to that end.

This is a blast but every time I capture an enemy city that contains wonders it crashes. Anyone else have this issue?

This is a great mod. I just won a diplomatic victory on Immortal as Vegas, and I think I had a shot at a cultural one as well. It's not OP though, I had about 20 failures before figuring out how this concept works. Great job!

Yeah, unfortunately this is a side effect of having 43 unique versions of fake buildings in the game. I have since considered going back and remaking the UA on this mod in Lua instead of XML to remedy that situation.

Tried it out a few moments ago, when I went to check what the mobster replaced in the civipedia, the civipedia broke so that it only showed the game concepts page. It was the only mod on at the time. Enjoyable asides from that.

Can you make a New York Mafia civ? With Charles "Lucky" Luchiano as the leader, and maybe have a unique building called Murder Inc or keep the casinos.

Nope, it references another version. All the ones that work reference Yet (not) Another Map Pack While yours and a few others like Kramer's Kyrat reference YNAEMP, can you message me the link to the YNAEMP map or mod you are using?

Casinos can provide tourism, you just have to actually fill their great work slots yourself. I already tested what it would be like if Casinos provided a Tourism boost without great works and it becomes much too OP. As it stands, I might make it so unit maintenance is cut in half in order to have a bigger standing army, but I won't be changing Capos to Merchants because they are literally lieutenants in the mob meant to lead foot soldiers.

I think that you should make Capos earnable without combat, or have them replace great merchants instead. Also make it so that the casinos provide +1 or 2 tourism IMO

Have you considered adding some thematic names to the Great Persons name lists? In particular, you could stick the Rat Pack into the Great Musicians list, or perhaps a couple of the major casino moguls into the Great Merchant list.

any chance of a 50 civs of America project? (maybe collapse New England into one Civ). I came across some mods for the 13 colonies, but would it be possible to force the game t run with 48 civs in it (even though turns would take FOREVER!)

The Casinos have various great works slots, as implications of all the various shows put on inside of them. They also provide culture which gets a boost to tourism as well, because they still count as wonders in terms of things like the Airport, Hotel and National Visitor Center.
