"I'm surprised nobody has chipped in an opinion on where to settle in the screenshot"
...
I see someone wasn't paying attention.
I would probably go with either directly between the two silks (or just to the left of that tile), or just to the right of the elephant triangle, above the river. Perhaps silk for capital and elephangle for 2nd city.
using only the "really advanced setup screen" is no problem though. Just remember not to change the starting units^^
@DragonBorn - main reason was to even out the MP, where the starting luck factor was too overwhelming for me, happy it makes your game better!
@The Grimwar - there is absolutely nothing in this mod that could do it, not sure what other mods you're using, which could cause it, but I would be the first one to recommend you unistalling it, if doesn't work for you.
Is able to see all the good stuff near spawn.
Minimizes game.
Goes to this mod page.
Gives a Like, a Fav, and a comment.
This is simply BRILLANT!
Unless you made a compilation of mods with mpmpm - then you'd have to compile again without it, or remove the compilation.
Haven't played Civ for a while now, but I guess no major revolutions happened while I was gone :)
So, the short answer is NEVER load your modded games from the main menu. Go into the Mods menu first, hit Next, then Load your game from there. While I'm at it: NEVER load a modded game from ingame (if you have to e.g., go back a few turns). Quit to the main menu, and as before, go into the Mods menu, hit Next, and load from there.
I don't know which mods you mean in your post. The only 3 mods with similarities I found are:
- Really Advanced Setup - great tool, among many genius features it increases initial visibility, but it won't improve your settler
- Speedy Starting Settler - cool idea, I started from it and gave credits to the author. The downside is that it doesn't work for mod civs, it doesn't give you visibility, and 10 moves can seriously block other civs from founding the 1st city
- Super Starter Settler - I actually just found it now, it's nice as well, but issues as above and +5 visibility still doesn't allow you to see through mountains
Luckily you don’t have to use mine.
I have never observed such problem, and just to be sure I have tested it 2 minutes ago.
In order to check whether it's this mods fault, disable all other mods, start the game with only this one, create a city, etc, play a few turns, save a game, go to main menu and load the save. I have just done it and there was no problems. This is just a minor modification, maybe one of the biggies got updated recently as well?
If you still have this problem with only this mod on, you can try to unsubscribe, delete the mod from your mods folder if it's still there and install it manually, here's the direct download link: http://forums.civfanatics.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=394661&d=1433082573
Thanks to the follow modders at the Civfanatics, all of your concerns have been addressed
@inahut
Hopefully this petty duplication of effort is now less inferior to other mods and you can give it your blessing ;) You're most welcome to try it.
Tthere will be issues with mod load order if anyone uses a custom civilization and that mod gets loaded into the game after your mod: this would also apply to multiplayer depending on how that system works for including various mods. Such custom civs would start with the standard settler.
Also, if a mod adds a special unit at game start as (for example) part of a civ's special ability (UA), they would get more than one SuperSettler since you are "where-ing" based upon a free unit count of "1".
This mod doesn't change anything with the cities and how the game looks. It merely adds a new unit. You may want to check your other mods.
