paid modding would have only BROUGHT IN NEW MODDERS. i would have continued to make good mods for the nexus like i always have... i havent uploaded any to steam

Each time I think of paid mods I picture downloading a mod and.

"Go to this steam page buy the rest of this mod"

"Welcome to The lost Hand Island this mod is just a demo and please buy the full mod for more content"

"Each one of the new spells is $0.05 and there is 1000 total spells"

And of course there will be a none Bethesda made dlcs for 25$ each, made by groups of 10 developers.

Yes that was all worth our freedom.

A system where only experienced modders (1-2 years of having items submitted maybe?) and with a fairly overall positive history (a culmination of mods with a hundred or more reviews and an overall positive modding history of the past year of mods reviews/likes/something) should have been able to charge and there should have been limits (single item/weapon/small thing? $1 max. Item sets, houses, area expansions, etc being more or something) set and enforced, but that requires a team to curate the process and we all know how well these things go...-cough early access cough-

Indeed, a ton of ninnies as Yummy put it. You know that guy who made Moonpath to Elsweyr? We could've had more of that amazing expansion/mod/dlc style stuff if paid mods had been possible.

I was however against the system implemented. It was poor and lacked quality control, garbage joke mods were ridiculous amounts, or new modders (bad ones who thought they were good...) tried to price things high, it was ridiculous.

They get paid with credit and support for their work, not to mention a potential job and more then likely we would get stuff that was not added to dota 2.

Steam was thinking paid mods would add more high end mods.

It would cause so many scams.

Why do i feel like i'm the only one who was for paid mods, i mean it gave mod makers the chance to make money off the creations(provided that they were good of course) and if they didn't want to charge for mods they didn't have to it was a completely optoinal thing. Almost all of the skyrim community made a huge deal out of one little thing and didn't stop to think how this might of been a good thing for some people. All in all paid mods weren't really a bad thing, the steam community made it a bad thing(Seriously most of those "protest mods" weren't the best in the world.). Look i'm not trying to start some $#&! with tis comment i'm just getting my opinon out there. -Gamerkid354
