Just a reminder, since I see people have recently started giving this a download again:

This is an outdated design; it's over two years old, so don't expect it to work well. Its replacement, the Fenrir , should be out within a month and will be a fully-modernized tank.

Tell you what: I'm working on the Grendel Mk. II. When I release it, I'll implement a collection for it, with all the subgrids for the tank in the collection.

Assuming Steam gives me back my "new collection" button, that is.

I can definitely relate to that regarding the rotor/piston subgrids, every planetary unit I've built uses at least something on a rotor minus my aircraft. I still need to figure out a way to set up sufficient crane arms and welding walls in a factory to construct the projections and move them into place for attachment to their rotor bases. It really is a pain in the neck though to be required to make multiple segmented blueprints just because part of it is on the other side of a rotor head -_-
ThotQuake 8 dec. 2015 la 13:27
So where is the blueprint for the turret? ;P I thought there might be a workaround what with everyone using rotors now that helicopters are a thing but I guess not.
I personally think the fucking trees need addressing first.Literally cannot build a base on the surface (in any of the areas I'm interested in) unless trees are turned off.
I'm glad for planets though, allot of people have started realizing just how horrid the ground is for construction.
Dwarf-Lord Pangolin  [autor] 7 dec. 2015 la 22:05
I know. They *really* need to address that; maybe with planets out that'll get some love. Once the Mk. II is released I'm going to try to design a tank factory -- one that will work in survival. Until the multiple grid thing is fixed, the chassis can be one blueprint, the bulk of the turret another. The wheels and such are simple enough that those don't really need a blueprint, but the mantlet for the gun does, and I don't want to think about attaching that in survival. >.<

"Multiple Grids not supported, only the largest grid shall be used" How in the heck do I work around this?????? Seems like any vehicle with pistons, wheels, or fucking tank turrets doesn't work properly!

It does indeed struggle; in addition to not being natural gravity ready, some changes to the bounding boxes seem to give it trouble even when the elevation is powered. However! There is a Mk. II that's undergoing trials (including some actual MP ones, for once), that works just fine in natural gravity. Sadly, the elevation won't be mouse-controlled, but the traverse of the turret will.
THE CHURROSAUR 7 sept. 2015 la 23:30
as awesome as this is (so much so that I'm reverse-engineering my own totally licensed copy for mass production) the turret seems to strugle under natural gravity. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but it seems like the gyroscopes simply aren't strong enough to compensate for the weight of elevating the gun.

Thank You! I've posted it to the workshop as the Type 74a3 "Jaeger" MBT. I did my best to include the original work and its author (You).
Dwarf-Lord Pangolin  [autor] 6 aug. 2015 la 20:24
Hey Second Amendment! I'd love to see what you've put together; and yeah, as long as the original is mentioned, feel free to release anything you want. :)
Stavros Halkias' Onlyfans 6 aug. 2015 la 14:06
Dwarf-Lord Pangolin, I have made revisions and changed the design of the tank to a custom idea of mine. It still uses your chasis (slight armor changes), turret (slight armor and armament changes), and programming. I would like to know if you would approve of me to post it to the workshop. Credit will be given to you of course for the original layout. I have renamed it (so there won't be two Grendel MBTs floating around on the workshop). Thank you, A fellow Tanker

K tanks ;)
Dwarf-Lord Pangolin  [autor] 8 mai 2015 la 11:37
Very odd. First double-check that you own all the blocks on the tank. If that's not the problem, check which remote control block your controlling it from; it should be "Remote Control - Turret 1." If that doesn't fix it, check to make sure the Turret and Elevation rotors are On and not Off; if it's a freshly spawned blueprint they shouldn't be, but let's eliminate all possibilities.
Khymeric 8 mai 2015 la 3:36
Yeah i did that but the gun wont turn left, right,up or down
Dwarf-Lord Pangolin  [autor] 8 mai 2015 la 2:04
1. Get into either the gunner's cockpit or the driver's cockpit (either will work).

2. Activate the remote control block in the toolbar (it should be the first item in the gunner's cockpit)

3. You can now control the turret with your mouse, both left-right and up-down. If it's a little sticky at first, either fire the main gun or rotate the tank itself rapidly to get it loose.
Khymeric 8 mai 2015 la 1:48
Hey does any one know how to use the Turret?
Dwarf-Lord Pangolin  [autor] 6 mai 2015 la 18:38
Thank you for all the kind feedback, folks! :) (Again though, feel free to critique)

Zaanix, one of my next planned vehicles will be an APC/IFV; I'm hoping to give it some sort of anti-personnel turret, so that will hopefully fill the role you're talking about. I haven't seen that mod by FancyFez, but I'll check it out; thanks for letting me know about it. :)

The next vehicle I'd like to do is actually a miner/grader. Ever since I saw a thread of those on the KSH forums, I've wanted to make one, and variable suspension will help fix the problem I had before; the drills were just a little too low, and it couldn't drill a perfectly level tunnel.
Zaanix 6 mai 2015 la 18:06
Would an anti infantry or light armor tank be practical? Like maybe with the Grendel mod (2x2x10 multibarrel machinegun) by FancyFez.
Fastmadcowhino 5 mai 2015 la 21:12
Ooo no... people are making tanks now... GlacticWar I is comeing! Its all a lie don't like it it's just going to be used for mass destruction!

German company names :D
Sound amazing!
It sounds okay in english (IronStar)
But german makes it amazing!
Merrick 3 mai 2015 la 18:27
this thing looks beautiful
JD.Horx 3 mai 2015 la 8:56
Excellent job! I hope to see more amazing land vehicles until planets appear.
Dwarf-Lord Pangolin  [autor] 2 mai 2015 la 20:26
Pricing-wise, I'd figure they cost about the same per unit as a medium fighter; mass is closer to what I think of as a heavy fighter, but figure "treads" are a lot cheaper than thrusters. Plus it doesn't need the avionics and such. They do indeed offer bulk discounts. ;)

Also, added a couple screenshots to show how to get in ... which I probably should've done at the beginning. >.> I really want a cockpit that's just an armored box with screens on the interior, so pardon the necessity of being stuck looking at the oxygen generator.
Fatal 2 mai 2015 la 19:56
After having subscribed and taken a closer look, i must say it appears very well constructed. I'd love to take it for a test drive, but I can't quite...umm...figure out how the hell to get in.
Fatal 2 mai 2015 la 19:21
FPN might be in the market for some well armored ground-pounders... you say these things are available for export, eh? How much we talking per unit, and do you offer bulk discounts?
Dwarf-Lord Pangolin  [autor] 2 mai 2015 la 16:59
Thanks! Hope you like it. Feel free to post any suggestions you might have. :)

Hmmm, impressive tank will have to check out
