GUYS do you have to switch it manually every time you join the game?

Enabled mod, made changes in xml file & loaded game. Got an error after game load and there was no change in water color. Unsubscribed mod and deleted xml file. Loaded game and no error. Maybe the mod is broken?

When I change the xml file and load a game, it just gets reverted to vanilla values......
BaboonX 29 May, 2017 @ 1:40pm
Something I learned is, that the file uses a 0 to 1 scale for rgb colours. So you have to divide your rgb values (0 - 255) by 255 to get the value needed for the config (and with this the correct colour representation in-game).
Maybe that's already explained somewhere or it is self explanatory but I thought I'd post it anyway for less smart people like me. :)

1.4.1 f2 work?
Vadicus 28 Oct, 2015 @ 5:54pm
Another good setting I like, currently using, is...

<waterColorClean>
<r>0.0000</r>
<g>0.0200</g>
<b>0.0160</b>
<a>1</a>
</waterColorClean>
<waterColorDirty>
<r>0.0000</r>
<g>0.0200</g>
<b>0.0160</b>
<a>1</a>
</waterColorDirty>
<waterColorUnder>
<r>0.55</r>
<g>0.45</g>
<b>0.4</b>
<a>1</a>
</waterColorUnder>

Slightly more green for a more caribbean look.
The reason you can only get a few different colors to work it that the config file does not support adjustments for hue, saturation or illumination. Its a blend of solid green and blue at a certain hue. Messed around for quite a while and can't seem to get many color options. Just thought I'd add my two cents. The above setting does look pretty good however. Much better than Vanilla.

To make the water not milky, change the values of WaterColorClean and WaterColorDirty to whatever you want, but set WaterColorUnder to....

<waterColorUnder>
<r>0.55</r>
<g>0.45</g>
<b>0.4</b>
<a>1</a>
</waterColorUnder>

This makes it clear so you can see bottom. Looks realistic as you can even see boat shadows on the sea floor when they pass as well as the shoreline itself. Shallow streams look like perfectly clean mountain fresh glacier water.

I like this setting...

<waterColorClean>
<r>0.01</r>
<g>0.02</g>
<b>0.02</b>
<a>1</a>
</waterColorClean>
<waterColorDirty>
<r>0.01</r>
<g>0.02</g>
<b>0.02</b>
<a>1</a>
</waterColorDirty>
<waterColorUnder>
<r>0.55</r>
<g>0.45</g>
<b>0.4</b>
<a>1</a>
</waterColorUnder>

Great mod!

@Punzybobo That's Terrain Texture Replacer

If your water turns out 'milky', add one or two zero's (0.2 > 0.002) This makes it darker and worked for me

Can this mod make the water of European cities a nicer colour?
Dingo66 19 May, 2015 @ 5:07am
After a while the colour infiltrated the roads so that at a certain height many of them took on the colour of the water. The opacity is milky and needs to be lightened.
Colin 15 May, 2015 @ 1:16pm
I would love to get this mod, however, after watching this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QlsKxbu0DOw it looks as though the color change makes the water look "milky". I'm not sure that is the right term, but what I mean is that I would like to change the color of the water with it still being clear, or without affecting the opacity, or if I am going to affect the opacity, I'd prefer it to be more clear than cloudy.
FoxInABox 12 May, 2015 @ 9:30pm
Any way to make clear water, such as how it appears when editing terrain?
Lana 6 May, 2015 @ 8:33pm
This is my can't live without mod. No more dirty water! All turquoise, all day. Thank you!
hyperdrive_engage  [author] 4 May, 2015 @ 8:23am
@RM1985 The config in the mod description corresponds to the first screenshot (beach). If you want the color from the second screenshot (snowy), use xonedl's values for waterColorClean - 0.01, 0.02, 0.02
RM1985 4 May, 2015 @ 8:15am
@xonedl: I actually thought, the configuration shown above is from the screenshot (right pic), so I wanted the color like this, because it looks better, more likely it's from the left pic. But thank you for your help, will try to find my favorite color, hope the mod shows it, how I want it to be.
dissidify 4 May, 2015 @ 6:07am
I wonder if you can duplicate the sewage resource and apply a custom colour to that, so that you could potentially fill up a lake using a new sewage outlet with dyed water so maybe you could simulate lake hillier or the El Golfo green lagoon
NameInvalid 3 May, 2015 @ 4:14pm
@RM1985 what color are you actually after?
For those who not sure how to get the color you want,
Google a river picture of the color you want, then open in Paint > follow this picture guide:
http://i.imgur.com/8unwM0e.jpg
Convert those values to " 0.XXX " & put those values in the correct section, clean, dirty or under.
RGB for the screenshot with darker water is 0.010, 0.020, 0.020.
LUT & modded terrain textures may also affect the overall color so play around with the values until you satisfy.

I have the same problem as Mr. Willis, the water is very light blue, even though I changed the config-file just after your specifications. And I don't have the "no more purple pollution"-mod. What am I missing? I want the water just like it's in the screenshot, it looks great!
"MrHindsight" 2 May, 2015 @ 10:45pm
When I first turned on the mod and went into a saved game all the water was a light blue and I couldn't see into the water anymore. The config file is there. I then proceded to change the values to the values you have in the description for the screenshot and had no change. =( I appreciate your fast repsonse.
hyperdrive_engage  [author] 2 May, 2015 @ 10:29pm
The no more purple ground mod variations won't conflict.

Is the config file created in the CSL Steam folder, and have you changed the values?
"MrHindsight" 2 May, 2015 @ 9:57pm
I can't get this to work for me. I have the "no more purple mod" for water turned off, do I need to remove completely? I aslo have the "no more purple" industry one turned on. Should that be off/removed as well?
hyperdrive_engage  [author] 2 May, 2015 @ 3:40pm
@Mille https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=416966387

xonedl linked a few sets of textures to use in the discussions page for that mod
Mille 2 May, 2015 @ 3:32pm
Just a question: how do you make the white snowy terrain? (as you show in the second screenshot)
There's a mod around to do it?
jebevuorinen 2 May, 2015 @ 10:01am
Finally, I've been hoping for something like this for a while... And what do you know, you give us a nice configurable one, thanks a lot! I found that setting the values to 0.1,0.13,0.16 - just slightly more blue than vanilla - gives a great look for my tastes.

0.01, 0.02, 0.02
hyperdrive_engage  [author] 2 May, 2015 @ 5:43am
Yes, you have to edit the xml file manually.
LegionOfMe 2 May, 2015 @ 5:26am
this is an interesting mod...how does it work? do we have to edit the xml file manually? or are there ingame buttons or something?
hyperdrive_engage  [author] 2 May, 2015 @ 12:26am
It's the alpha value - I don't believe it does anything but leave it at 1 anyway.
NameInvalid 2 May, 2015 @ 12:22am
Great, now we can have some manual control.
But can you explain what is the use of the <a> attribute?
I tried various values but doesn't seems to show any differences.
