Thanks; I might at some point (if I find time) upgrade the low-poly models to look a little better in first person (because of course Team Fortress 2 lacks the same detail Left 4 Dead 2 has)
By 'Without other attributes in play' I mean low HP and everything like stat lowers. Unless it crits, it cannot one-shot kill a normal scout, sniper, spy, etc. classes with the lowest amount of default health (125) because the damage cap is 124.
The previous one had the player pull a bomb out of the canon before replacing it with a new one. In this one, the player simply loads a bomb in.
While for realism purposes it makes no sense, for balance purposes it does (Since it can no longer instantly kill any class without other attributes in play). However, I feel that Valve should update the model to make it more consistent with the rest of the Grenade Launchers.
Yeah I can see that. Some server plugins surely can change the amount of grenades/ammo a gun has as well as clip size and fire rate. Honestly this is the only skin for the Grenade Launcher out of the four that makes the most sense considering it only looks like it can fit one cannon ball in it (Hence the term 'Loose Cannon' as in both someone who is unpredictable and a cannon with imperfections/improvisions)
While it can be done, and I certainly could do it with relative ease, there's a reason as to why I am not.
If I were to do so, then the mod would cause inconsistencies between servers and clients not running the mod, thus leading the user in question who desires to play online unable to do so. Server plugins may freely change the code for the servers that want to, but as far as this goes, no I will not be editing the scripts for these.
Yes, I did look at the submission of theirs, and no, I have not done that yet. I have a reason for this:
You see the fired projectile for only a split second (unless you're just doing it wrong), and as a Team Fortress 2 player myself I can tell you that the Loose Cannon's projectiles usually bounce around. Thus, I fail to see a reason to change the projectile's model to something it is not.
However, in case you haven't yet used the mod, you do see a change in first person when reloading, since you will actually see it for a good amount of time there. Bear in mind as well that the animations for this gun are shared almost exactly with the other four grenade launcher variants I uploaded (save for the Loch n Load which has a slightly different reload animation as well as a helper sequence to fix the left hand).
I am well aware that there are a lot of dumbasses on the Steam community (and hell, the internet itself in general) who fail to pay attention to detail at even a miniscule level, thus often falsely accusing others and generally making fools of themselves. Those that fail to observe with a sufficiently careful eye I frown upon. However, there is no way to prevent those less informed of their hilariously pitiful actions, which is why I am always prepared for such a thing to happen with any mod I post anywhere.
I'm quite aware of that; I do appreciate that you pointed out that a mod for this does in fact exist however, as I now know to be prepared for the one idiot who thinks I'm a thief and thus apparently didn't read the description (I put a helpful GameBanana link there for a reason).
(I also never directly said that I believed you told me I was stealing)
I fail to see how this can be considered 'stealing' when I not only ported the gun myself (as well as several other Grenade Launchers), but also made my own animations from scratch as well as providing a single screenshot that doesn't showcase a bunch of other unrelated/major change mods as well as the mod in question (in fact only two can be seen there if you look close enough, and both are very subtle). I see your point, and I suppose some moron at some point will try to frame me for 'stealing' somehow, but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it.
Nice. :)
