Network Anarchy?

Is there an UNlimited slope mod? And one that lets you build even tighter turns? Just for fun, I'd like to make a rollercoaster road.
The Engineer Pop 1 Apr, 2021 @ 3:08am
Hello. How can I do when I'd like to limit Metro line's slope?
UncleYar 25 May, 2019 @ 6:38pm
An update to this would be nice - all mods providing similar functionality seem dead.
Finwickle 21 May, 2016 @ 3:40pm
This mod seems to be dead. A nice, and updated, alternative is Slope Limits (WtM) by Jonas
baronjutter 17 May, 2016 @ 12:34pm
Does this mod need an update to work?
Lord Morpheus 4 Apr, 2016 @ 3:30am
Doesn't work anymore. Please update ;)
Crazyglueit 23 Mar, 2016 @ 10:58pm
May be just me, but I think the slope mods need an update. I Couldn't get the mod to function the same as before. No longer holds the slope limit when you connect roads or draw segments from roads that are more than 2 segments long.
templeofdoom 24 Feb, 2016 @ 3:44pm
Has anyone got this mod to work with the new DLC and free update patch yet? My game is in shambles and haven't been able to isolate any mod let alone get my save game to really get up and running....
eibecn 21 Feb, 2016 @ 2:44am
is this mod compatible with snowfall? If not, it would be great if you can update this MUST HAVE mod?
daishi 26 Jan, 2016 @ 2:54pm
I can't find the SmoothSlopesConfig.xml on PC. It's not in folder mentioned in the description, I also checked my local and document folders, nothing :/
I use win 10, any ideas where I could find it?
makor 14 Jan, 2016 @ 9:31am
I tried 1% slope and it doesn't work. The 5% works however. I will look into it :steamhappy:
Gfurst 8 Jan, 2016 @ 11:50am
@b.fokke, why would someone try a 0.0 dregree slope is beyond me...
Is there a way to configure slopes from other mods as well?
Meireles 15 Oct, 2015 @ 1:27pm
I don't seem to be able to actually make changes to the limits. I've changed the file a couple of times and restarted the game but I doesn't seem to change anything in game.
b.fokke  [author] 13 Oct, 2015 @ 7:08am
@TriGlav: Doesn't work here either. Maybe the game treats a limit of 0% as 'no limit'. Did you try a very low limit? (0.0001)?
TriGlav 5 Oct, 2015 @ 6:21am
How do I make climb limit at 0%, tried changing both relaxed and strict limits to 0.00 and it didn't worked.
Gfurst 30 Sep, 2015 @ 7:42pm
Hey there, is there compatiblity with Network Extension roads? maybe custom entry for the new road types?
b.fokke  [author] 27 Sep, 2015 @ 3:03am
@Imparja: That's really wierd, I don't have that issue. The code of this mod currently does not touch any GUI code so I wouldn't know how the mod would even cause this issue.
Verullus Forgefire 27 Sep, 2015 @ 12:03am
I did install After Dark and noticed while this mod is active I can't see the policy window any longer. As soon the mod was deactivated the policy window is working again.
tempregister 25 Sep, 2015 @ 2:02pm
It is a huge flexibility. I think , You should make a configuration panel to set the limits. It would be more basic and easy
b.fokke  [author] 20 Sep, 2015 @ 5:07am
@eldrarak: Thanks for the elaborate bug report. I'll try to get to it as soon as I can.
Eldrarak1982 14 Sep, 2015 @ 2:21pm
I did also test a case where both the strict and relaxed limits were set to 0.8, which should have limited the slope at around 38.5 degrees, but that did not seem to work either. Alternatively, I tried setting the strict limit to 1.0 and leaving relaxed at about .15, but I wasn't sure if you had the code written in such a way where the relaxed limit MUST be a higher value than the strict limit., so I did not consider those test results valid (though it still did not allow the higher angle).

I hope that this will help you find the bug and potentially repair it if you find time.
Eldrarak1982 14 Sep, 2015 @ 2:21pm
I did more testing last night, and it does appear that the configurable part truly isn't functioning on 1.1.1c.

@b-fokke, to test this just open the configuration xml file and try changing the relaxed limit for large (or medium) roads to 1.0. According to the tool at http://www.1728.org/gradient.htm , a grade of 100 (input in percent, not decimal format) should yield a maximum slope of 45 degrees. You'll find that the slope is still limited to an angle much less than 45 degrees even when holding the relaxed hotkey.
TexTHKM 24 Aug, 2015 @ 6:45am
Sounds good to me, as long as it is bug free I'm a happy camper :)
b.fokke  [author] 24 Aug, 2015 @ 1:11am
Yup, although there are no plans to add functionality. I think mods should be as lean as possible.
TexTHKM 20 Aug, 2015 @ 4:03am
Mod still being maintained?
b.fokke  [author] 26 Jul, 2015 @ 2:25am
Sorry guys, I was on vacation for a week (also got some nice ideas during the train ride from the Netherlands to Austria). Unfortunately, I can't reproduce the problems you are having. I am on 1.1.1c too and the mod works like charm. Which other mods are you using? Are there any entries in the debug log (which can be found by pressing F7)?
Eldrarak1982 17 Jul, 2015 @ 9:46pm
I can unfortunately also confirm that this does not appear to be working on 1.1.1c. I'm not even sure it's limiting the slopes at all, because I layed a road which was certainly close to the 25% grade limit for small roads. Please patch this. I consider this a must-have mod.
muppet 6 Jul, 2015 @ 12:04pm
This isn't working for me on 1.1.1c. Changing values in the config file are ignored, preset values are applied though. So "Non" configurable slope limiter atm ;)
Gfurst 29 May, 2015 @ 6:52am
Hey, everything working really well, thanks.
I have a small request/suggestion, to move the config file to the ~user directory, such as ~Cities Skylines/ModConfig
kkutac 27 May, 2015 @ 12:14am
argh, sorry: I re-checked the "Relaxed" limits: they vary widely from the 0.25 figure you stated. Sorry for my initial misunderstanding. For the sake of those, like me, who are initially encountering this excellent mod, the values in the default config file are as follows:
NetworkType Name="Small Road" StrictLimit="0.15" RelaxedLimit="0.3"
NetworkType Name="Medium Road" StrictLimit="0.1" RelaxedLimit="0.2"
NetworkType Name="Large Road" StrictLimit="0.1" RelaxedLimit="0.2"
NetworkType Name="Ramp" StrictLimit="0.15" RelaxedLimit="0.3"
NetworkType Name="Highway" StrictLimit="0.07" RelaxedLimit="0.14"
NetworkType Name="Train Track" StrictLimit="0.05" RelaxedLimit="0.1"
For newcomers to this mod: you see where the Relaxed limit is sometimes stricter than Vanilla, sometimes more permissive.
kkutac 26 May, 2015 @ 11:59pm
@Japa thank you for the information. It surprises me that "Relaxed" is even more promiscuous than Vanilla, because my experience with Vanilla is that it was too permissive: wildly changing road contortions, you know? But again, thank you for this insight. I will be better able to estimate (to me) acceptable values.
Rose 26 May, 2015 @ 4:32am
Vanilla slopes for all roads besides dirt roads are 0.25
kkutac 25 May, 2015 @ 11:08pm
How does Strict vs Relaxed vs Vanilla compare? For example, the config file line for Small Roads is "NetworkType Name="Small Road" StrictLimit="0.15" RelaxedLimit="0.3" ". Is "Relaxed" equal to CO's Vanilla setting? Or is the Vanilla setting something like 0.4? If Vanilla differs from Relaxed, it'd be nice to know what the Vanilla values are, so as to be able to better judge where I want to set MY values.
I'd like to suggest: put a comment in the SmoothSlopesConfig-orig.xml file, giving a concise contrast between the two or most likely three sets of values: Strict, Relaxed, and Vanilla.
Thank you for this mod: the Vanilla slope values are faintly ridiculous, and I'm grateful to have provided a way to adjust them.
Dark Necrotic 24 May, 2015 @ 8:36pm
Thanks for your work! I really like your mod. Just one Question: Is it possible to integrate the roads from Traffic++ into your config file somehow? Can i add lines which define the T++ roads restrictions? Like <NetworkType Name="Pedestrian Road" StrictLimit="0.2" RelaxedLimit="0.4" />
or isn't it that easy? :-) Sorry i don't know a thing about coding.
leftbehind 20 May, 2015 @ 4:41am
Traffic++ should in theory now include an Options button that works with the new C:S 1.1.0b UI. Code is on github (link on T++ steam page).
b.fokke  [author] 20 May, 2015 @ 1:25am
Well, I've confirmed the mod still works on 1.1. Thanks for the source code, I'll have a look at it later! and BTW: Thanks for your work on some awesome mods!
leftbehind 19 May, 2015 @ 5:09pm
leftbehind 19 May, 2015 @ 4:54pm
note: enhanced zoom was updated due to it's "options" button crashing horribly on 1.1.0 release so hold off on using that code as template for now...

traffic++ had same problem so we disabled it in a hotfix, but currently working on second hotfix to add it back in using vanilla UI :)

traffic++ code will be getting uploaded to github - https://github.com/joaofarias/csl-traffic
b.fokke  [author] 19 May, 2015 @ 4:31pm
@aubergine THANKS! The patch is out as well - now let me get some free time.
leftbehind 19 May, 2015 @ 6:45am
b.fokke  [author] 19 May, 2015 @ 4:59am
@Aubergine - I'm waiting for the new patch to come out first - CO indicated that mods might be broken. I like the enhanced zoom mod configuration panel and would love to duplicate this functionality but the source is not public. Do you know any other mods that have this functionality and public source code?
Crazyglueit 19 May, 2015 @ 3:13am
Toggle on/off feature is golden!
Blackkatt 14 May, 2015 @ 10:51pm
did not work for me. only the strict limits worked and with them you cant really build roads =) Would be really nice of you, if you could try to do what aubergine18 is asking for.
leftbehind 12 May, 2015 @ 2:30pm
It would be cool if you could add a UI for customising the slope limits - similar to how Enhanced Zoom mod and Traffic++ mod adds an "options" button next to plugin on Content Manager > Mods screen.

Thanks!

I approve this mod.
