@Speed. Yes it does.
The Pacer 20 OCT 2024 a las 8:30
Does this include the HEV Zombie and Apprehension audio?
Dralkkin  [autor] 2 JUL 2023 a las 21:20
@Truth I'm sorry, but that's impossible. If the lines are out of order, it's the vanilla game's fault. The only edit to Sentances.txt that this mod makes is related to the Long Jump module. All other lines are identical to the latest Sentences.txt that shipped with the final version of the game.
Truth 2 JUL 2023 a las 18:46
Pretty sure the suit is supposed to say "automatic medical systems engaged" before saying "Morphine administered"
Truth 2 JUL 2023 a las 18:45
I'm having the same issue sooo I think it's your mod
Dralkkin  [autor] 4 MAY 2021 a las 5:49
I don't know. All I know is it's not this one, because I can confirm that it works on my end.
Plisehon 4 MAY 2021 a las 2:43
well which one?
Dralkkin  [autor] 3 MAY 2021 a las 5:18
@Plisehon I just tested and it was working fine. The HEV doesn't even use the automedic_on line outside of the intro scene. You must have another mod changing that.
Plisehon 2 MAY 2021 a las 11:13
Instead it just skips and says "Automatic medical systems engaged. Morphine administred"
Plisehon 2 MAY 2021 a las 11:11
When the player is majorly fractured, it doesnt say "major fracture detected"

@Dr. Tremor Unfortunately I'm not very well versed in sound editing, and both of those would require modification of the audio. I *might* be able to do the one at the end of Apprehension since that's just some pitch shifting in the middle, but the ZEV lines are definitely beyond my skillset. I just like to think that the reason those lines sound different is due to the suit's damage warping the pitch.

I will try to see about replicating the Apprehension line though.
Dr. SourceCode 20 ABR 2020 a las 13:42
Hello, if no one else could update their own versions of this mod. Maybe you yourself could update this to include hev suit zombie and that scripted sequence at the end of apprehension?
IrOfficialBaboon 11 JUL 2019 a las 2:51
verify the game then restart game and snd_restart should work
Dralkkin  [autor] 18 JUN 2018 a las 19:13
@Sulphurous It doesn't look like it. At least, not without some source engine modification that is beyond my below-novice skills. Aditionally Restore-Life is also a Goldsource mod, so even if I could identify what exactly re-adds those features, I still probably wouldn't be able to port them.
.*Samochud*. JUMP2009.WMV 16 JUN 2018 a las 4:35
I'm curious if i could somehow re-enable unused HL1 HEV VOX in Black Mesa, using the same technique that Restore-Life used. Though i don't see any script file i can use from that mod.
.*Samochud*. JUMP2009.WMV 16 JUN 2018 a las 4:34
It most definitely works.
Dralkkin  [autor] 15 JUN 2018 a las 19:26
@Sulphurous Yeah I checked and it still works, you just need to snd_restart in the console still.
Dralkkin  [autor] 15 JUN 2018 a las 18:27
@Sulphurous It should? You might have to type snd_restart into the console depending on if they ever fixed that bug. I don't have the game installed right now, but let me do that and I'll look into it.
.*Samochud*. JUMP2009.WMV 15 JUN 2018 a las 12:16
still works?

video?
Dralkkin  [autor] 25 JUL 2016 a las 21:36
First ensure that it shows up in the workshop menu on the main menu. If it doesn't try unsubscribing and then resubscribing. Also, right click on Black Mesa in your Steam Library, select "Properties" then click the "Betas" tab at top right. Verify that you have selected "None" in the dropdown menu and not "public beta".

If both of those don't work, then I don't know what to tell you. I get my copy through the workshop and I just verified that it works fine after typing snd_restart into the console.
nightmaresurvivor 25 JUL 2016 a las 20:33
It's just the default Hev suit
Dralkkin  [autor] 25 JUL 2016 a las 18:04
What about it doesn't work? Is the default voice still there or is there just nothing? If it's the latter, be sure you're typing snd_restart in the console everytime you load the game until the devs fix that. if the default is still there, be sure you're on the stable build and not the beta branch.
nightmaresurvivor 25 JUL 2016 a las 16:18
This doesn't quite seem to work
Dralkkin  [autor] 16 JUL 2016 a las 0:12
It does but you have to type "snd_restart" into the console everytime you launch the game. It's really annoying and it's been this way for two major updates. I think there's a file you can put commands in that run on startup but I don't know where it is.
nightmaresurvivor 15 JUL 2016 a las 22:10
I've been hearing that if the sound mods don't work with the new update, you have to start up the game, exit, and start it up again
nightmaresurvivor 15 JUL 2016 a las 22:06
Does this work with the Surface Tension Uncut update?
Dralkkin  [autor] 5 ENE 2016 a las 21:17
No problem!
Vortexyz 5 ENE 2016 a las 21:11
I figured it out, and I feel a little silly I didn't think of this earlier. I was originally opting in for the Public Beta version of the game in order to help the devs. I went to the Steam properties then Betas tab and chose to opt out. Boom. Everything works fine now and your addon downloads and installs perfectly through the normal Steam Workshop. Thank you so much for taking the time to help me troubleshoot. Since you let me know that everything was working fine on your end, I figured it had to be something else. Take care and thanks again for your contribution with this addon!
Dralkkin  [autor] 5 ENE 2016 a las 20:11
You say it worked fine before? That's really weird because my personal copy still works and I get it through the workshop. Umm try maybe moving the vpk into the addons folder itself and not the workshop folder itself. And make sure its just the vpk, the screenshot, and the sound cache file if it exists. If that doesn't work the only tips I could give would be to try this: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=502670746 and if even that doesn't work then try unpacking the vpk with GCFscape and putting it in the custom folder like this: bms\custom\Classic HEV\Sound with sound being the folder you extract from the vpk. Surely one of these had to work. If not then... I have no idea. I hear a patch should be coming "Soon" so hopefully that would fix it if these don't.
Vortexyz 5 ENE 2016 a las 19:37
Incidentally, after putting on the HEV suit for the first time in Anomalous Materials, I open the console and see a bunch of error messages in red -- here's the first one of many related to your mod:

Cannot figure out which search path sound\hev_vox\bell.wav came from. Absolute path is C:\Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/workshop/content/362890/441803776/716415125928782816_legacy.bin/sound/hev_vox/bell.wav

Bell.wav of course is the first sound that is supposed to play when you get the suit.

I'm seeing tons more messages related to other workshop material I've downloaded too. I'm guessing this needs to be addressed by the developers, but if you have any other ideas, I'm happy to try them. Thank you for the addon -- it worked perfectly for me before the recent update!
Vortexyz 5 ENE 2016 a las 19:23
Hi Dark Link -- thanks so much for the response. I can verify that the .vpk file 441803776 did indeed download into the workshop folder. I tried moving the contents from the 441803776 folder within the 362890 folder as well and I'm afraid it still didn't work. Each time I tried I also used the "snd_restart" command just in case, but still no luck. On another forum I read that there are problems with the Workshop utility right now, so hopefully once that's fixed I can give it another try. As it stands, right now when I load Black Mesa and click the "Workshop Addons" option in the main menu, nothing appears, so I can only assume that's related to the problem. I really appreciate you trying to help though.
Dralkkin  [autor] 4 ENE 2016 a las 22:21
Can you verify if it got downloaded to your steamapps\common\Black Mesa\bms\addons\workshop folder? Look for a .vpk file named 441803776. If it's not there even after you subscribed and downloaded it then check in steamapps\workshop\content\362890 and see if a folder called 441803776 is there. If it is then move its contents to your steamapps\common\Black Mesa\bms\addons folder.
Vortexyz 4 ENE 2016 a las 22:09
Sadly this no longer seems to work since the developers updated the game recently :-(
Dralkkin  [autor] 19 AGO 2015 a las 14:58
Yes, and it also adds the original pickup line to the long-jump module too.
Phantron 19 AGO 2015 a las 11:17
does this also replace the voice in the aquiring scene?
Dralkkin  [autor] 13 MAY 2015 a las 7:04
Unfortunately I believe that is a vanilla thing. All the new voice files are the exact same length as the old ones and if I tried to put some delay on them the end would get cut off.
Merrick Simms 13 MAY 2015 a las 0:30
Not bad but when you activate the suit, the "automatic medical system engage" is hear a long time before appareaing on the check list. There is also the "Munition level monitoring" who is not use in thos game".

In the end there is a big gap between sounds and text and unfortunately it makes it all a bit confusing.
Dralkkin  [autor] 12 MAY 2015 a las 21:09
No problem! It wasn't an overly complex task, and I've worked with those voice files before for a Fallout thing. I was a tad nervous to the response due to it being my first workshop thing ever, but I'm glad to see people enjoying it.
BenVaultDweller 12 MAY 2015 a las 21:02
Ah, good. They actually did a good job updating the suit voice, as you say, but I do prefer the original. Thanks for this.
