Unfortunately, the bug about the culture policy resetting still persists. I tried this mod for the first time today and I started at 1000 score which was a weird red flag, and then I got my first social policy at 25 culture, but the culture requirement remained at 25. It seems like such a weird bug for this mod to introduce.

Ingame editor is another mod. Use it to give your civilization as much money as you want.

To make them upgradable open "Mercenary Camp.sql" with a text editor, scroll to the bottom and add this:

UPDATE Units
SET Requirements = (SELECT UnitClassType FROM Unit_ClassUpgrades WHERE UnitType IS Units.Civilopedia)
WHERE Type LIKE '%_MC_MERC';

INSERT INTO Unit_ClassUpgrades (UnitType,UnitClassType)
SELECT Type,Requirements FROM Units WHERE Type LIKE '%_MC_MERC' AND Requirements IS NOT NULL;

UPDATE Language_en_US
SET Text = 'Double maintenance cost. No refund when disbanded.'
WHERE Tag = 'TXT_KEY_PROMOTION_MC_MERC_HELP';

I tried disabling all the other mods but I can still only buy normal non unique units.. even editing the text didn't help....

Hey man love the mod but it worked like a week ago and then it just stopped working. I tried editing the text but that didn't help, it also makes so I can only buy merc versions of normal units. Would be very happy if this mod worked again it's one my favorites.

malexlee1 , mercenary units should be grayed out in your purchase tab even if you don't have a mercenary camp. It could be a mod conflict. Start a new game with only this mod enabled. Select medieval era in advanced options to be able to train horsemen and check your purchase tab for new units.

Wait, I don't get it. I built a camp in one of my cities, but where do I purchase the merc units? The purchase tab looks exactly the same.

Two things:
1. Mercenaries are not upgradable, so then quite quickly most of them will become obsolete (and to be honest I will limit them - mercenary submarine or battleship never took place), although there is a point behind it (good gifts for other civilisation)
2. If you purchase a mercenary aircraft - it is not counted towards aircraft limit for the city, on one moment by my mistake I had over 14 B-17s in my capital.

You should have them spawn with random promotions, since they are mercenaries and they would have went on missions for someone before. Still a good mod though. :)

Wonderful mod. Definitely should have been in the main game, the AI can buy the units, it's saved me countless times, and it's somewhat balanced in the fact that you can't upgrade the units, and it costs double maintenance. However I did have that policy issue as well, I'm going to test it and see if it's fixed.

Fixed policy cost resetting but found another bug: after you reload your game there will be no more notifications when you have enough culture for new policy. Will try to fix it too .

This mod is awesome. But I'm encountering a weird bug wherein any time I save a game with this mod, and load it later, my culture costs get reset. (for instance, if the cost of the first cultural policy is 75, on marathon, the cost of my next policy gets reset to 75) This glitch messes up my cultural progression, obviously, especially late game if I didn't allow policy saving XP.

I am sure it is this mod, as I began starting a new game with a different mod disabled each time, one at a time. When this mod was disabled, the problem went away, when it was re-enabled, the problem came back.

Just thought I'd let you know.

On the bright side, this is one of the best mods I've found on the workshop, and I think the limitations on getting foreign special units are nearly perfect. I always wanted to have a unit of Tercios or Jaguars here and there, but don't really like cheat mods to get them. I hope you can figure out how to solve this issue.
