LeonKenway: The mod doesn't do anything to flags.
If all flags are black, the cache might be broken - delete c:\Users\<your name>\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Crusader Kings II\gfx (or equivalent) and it will generate correct one.
gfx folder is some kind of flag cache

The flags show wrong.... can you fix that?
Broly218 9 Feb, 2016 @ 10:58pm
There we go. thanks.

Broly218: I updated it for 2.5.1.1 yesterday, and it is working fine for me. Maybe Steam didn't download the new version for you yet?
Broly218 8 Feb, 2016 @ 9:46pm
Doesn't seem compatible with the latest patch. A shame, I much prefer the titles.

[1raDN] Pretorium Máximo: I don't see why it shouldn't be if everybody uses it.
Preto ♚ 27 Aug, 2015 @ 3:08am
is compatible with multiplayer?
Broly218 12 Aug, 2015 @ 12:50pm
@taw Thank you. That seems to have done it.

Broly218: Do you see the mod in the loader screen and have 2.4.2 version of the game?
I don't think it requires a restart, but then I never tried that. Just check if it works on fresh start.
Broly218 9 Aug, 2015 @ 10:21pm
This didn't seem to work in my game. Do I have to start fresh?
inhyeon 1 Jun, 2015 @ 11:49am
Thank you for this! I've found it very useful as it is now much easier to recognise certain realms. No longer will I be confused about who controls what when blobs break up. :)

SERIOUSLY FINALLY! though no ironman lol
Van Frietsberg 25 May, 2015 @ 12:15pm
Wromthrax: Both states were known with that name. Ottoman was the successor of Seljuk Empire anyway. After Seljuk collapsed, smaller states appeared. And Ottoman was one of them, therefore Ottoman claimed the Western dominions of Seljuk as the successor. So they both known with that name. But i think we have a common point here. It's unfortunately hard to call Middle-eastern Empires with regional names, they're multi-cultural states. In Turkish it's commonly called Great Seljuqian Sultanate if that helps. No wonder better than Persia...

Nabu-kudurri-usur: Screenshot is from 15 September 1066 bookmark start, I just needed a quick one. Many countries have territory outside their de jure lands, including Persia and Egypt.

@Wromthrax The game has clearly been played, and Persia conquered Oman. CK2 may start historically accurate, but if you actually play it, things get... Weird. Sometimes a good weird, and sometimes a bad weird.

Play the game before you say something stupid.
Cinq_Cents 24 May, 2015 @ 7:12pm
Alright then, and it does seem strange that changing a name affects ironman mode.
Halv 24 May, 2015 @ 5:44pm
Finally Hallelujah!
taw  [author] 24 May, 2015 @ 12:05am
Toxic Assassin: For CK2 playing with checksum affecting mods like this one still allows ironman, but you won't be getting any achievements. Unfortunately there's no way to replace dynastic with geographical names without changing checksum, even though it feels like pure UI change.
Wromthrax 23 May, 2015 @ 5:15pm
That is what it`s called in every language more or less. What you don`t realize is that dynasties in history gave the land its name many a time and even in the picture you put up above as your thumbnail, Pechenegs are the arm of the Oghuz tribe of the Turkic peoples so it is a dynasty name. That is no area, that is a name. Either do enough research before taking on such a mod or or just tell it like it is; you wanted to change the names in the Middle East to what is acceptable and does not break the immersion for you. Also in no way in freaking ever was Oman considered Persia. Geez
Wromthrax 23 May, 2015 @ 5:14pm
Zhao: that is the Ottoman Empire, are you for real? Trying to correct this dude while you are dead wrong? It is neither Persia or Devlet-i Aliyye, technically yet in strict terms of geography, it depends on what you mean by Persia. You could try squeezing in The Levant or Mesopotamia between it and Egypt for better accuracy but the inconsistency is that you kept The Byzantines. So change it to Anatolia, Macedonia, Thracia and Morea then.
Cinq_Cents 23 May, 2015 @ 3:57pm
So by mod affects checksum, you mean it won't work with ironman mode?
Cinq_Cents 23 May, 2015 @ 3:56pm

Van Frietsberg 23 May, 2015 @ 11:42am
I'm not fancy about making mods just for that. I just stated something out. It's something like calling Byzantinum as Anatolia or something like that. Don't bother to reply, really...
taw  [author] 23 May, 2015 @ 11:26am
Zhao: Feel free to make a mod like that. "Persia" is what it's called in English. (and if you use another language it will be called Perse / Persien / etc.)
Van Frietsberg 23 May, 2015 @ 8:59am
You shouldn't name Seljuk as Persia. Instead, try Devlet-î Aliyye. That's the actual name of the state.
Ashleyfish 22 May, 2015 @ 10:48am
no im not saying it angrily or saying that its not useful, i was simply saying i like the names.
taw  [author] 22 May, 2015 @ 10:40am
wolven puppet: There's dynastic map mode for that, so it's not like you can't get them even with the mod. Or just don't use the mod, it's totally optional :-)
taw  [author] 22 May, 2015 @ 10:38am
Betongghetto: I have no idea if it works with any ongoing campaigns, I only tested it with new campaigns. Definitely not compatible with any mods that mod cultures.
Prosto Osen 22 May, 2015 @ 10:11am
This mod corrupted my save files
Ashleyfish 22 May, 2015 @ 7:39am
i actually quite like the names. (just my opinion)
Uthred 21 May, 2015 @ 12:02am
Thanks it would be great if you could turn it into a mod, will make playing multiplayer with friends a less of a hassle.
taw  [author] 20 May, 2015 @ 11:44pm
Uthred: I know how to do it, edit common/landed_titles/landed_titles.txt, remove all culture names lines like: "norwegian = Norge". It would change checksum.

I might make a mod like that, I'm somewhat annoyed by such names too. (as well as all the beyliks, muftis, walis, and such titles - at least that one is pure localization and doesn't change checksum). Just check my workshop page in a few days :-)
Uthred 20 May, 2015 @ 2:21pm
hey great mod btw, I was wondering if your able or know of any other mod which changes the naming system like in the old versions. For example Norway is now called Norge, do you know a way to fix this?
taw  [author] 17 May, 2015 @ 8:03pm
Shadok: Unfortunately it does, this is part of culture logic, not localization.
Shadok 17 May, 2015 @ 4:55pm
Does this disable achievements?
