Nice Job! Just one small change that I think would be Ideal, the Retinal Scanners in HL1 don't say Access Granted. So you should change that. Otherwise, great addon!

Okay I found a fix for this addon. Firstly, make sure to subscribe to this addon. Then, go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\362890\444285242 and you should see a file that says something like (RANDOM NUMBERS)_legacy.bin. Right-click the file and select Rename. Change the bin part to vpk, so it should look like (RANDOM NUMBERS)_legacy.vpk. A warning message should pop up, select yes and the file should now be converted into a vpk file. Finally, insert the new vpk file into your custom folder. If you don't know what I'm talking about, the custom folder can be found in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Black Mesa\bms but if it isn't there you can make it by following the guide here: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=502670746&searchtext=Custom+folder

It doesn't work for me, I tried snd_restart a few times and reinstalled it, but every time an error shows up in the log that says "Failed to load sound "bms_objects\doors\retinalscanner_access_denied01.wav", file probably missing from disk/repository

@Dan I've been typing snd_restart 10 times now and it still doesn't work, when I type snd_restart it says Unable to persist cache 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\362890\576153898\393301

I tested all my addons and the only one who's broken for now is your addon.

It appears all addons who's focus on sound modification (like my addon with the original announcement system) are broken.

When using a retinal scanner in-game with this mod enabled no sound plays at all just the use sound & it throws an error up in the console. After browsing the Black Mesa forums a user posted that a lot of ingame sounds weren't playing and the console was displaying the same error. The crossfire update broke a lot of shit and apparently no sound mods are working atm. It looks as though it's out of your hands at this point in time.

@CyanFire the addon shouldn't be broken as it is just a replacement wav file in a vpk file and as the name of the original wav hasn't changed it should still work. I'll double check but I am a bit of a noob when it comes to the workshop.

The fact is that these sound files are within the games files, so maybe they're planning something. I don't know though. Also thanks to anyone who subscribed to this addon, I had no idea it would be liked so much. :)

Actually, remember that secret door from the original Hazard Course? The one where VOX got mad at you for trying to open it? It's still in the game, near the end of Unforseen Consequences, and it uses the post-military voice.

As for it not working, yeah try restarting BM once or twice. I remember similar problems happening with some other sound mods. Something about the game needing to load the soundcache on startup or something.

It is true that the voice is not pre-military, but as there is no set of words for the female voice so I cannot use it. As for the fact that it wont play, I do not know how to fix that as I am very new to creating and editing vpk files. The only thing I can think of is that sometimes Black Mesa wont always register all addons when first launched and it needs to be restarted, if this doesnt fix it try resubscibing to the addon, if not then I am sorry I cannot help.
