You mean 1.16? It was just updated, yeah. Amazed you got here so soon.
I have no idea when the change to 256x256 textures was made. It was actually something that became a problem when adding in the new Nanbu units, as I found i accidentally baked in one of the daimyo's symbols into my level 3 base copy.

The update for 1.16 is out.
Any way to get the base file used for the daimyo textures? Seeing as yours are 2x the size of the vanilla EU4 textures, they are a bit easier to work with.

It was situational and a lot of personal preferance.
Hex Editor to point the models to use the new textures and Paint .net to edit the textures themselves. No direct model editing.
