It's there a way to automatically add these to our GPS list?
kinngrimm 12 Mar, 2023 @ 12:26pm
could this record lists of strong unknown signals if they spawn within arange of 200km to each other?

Something weird going on. I can't load this into Programmable blocks. I can load other scripts. I can load my own local scripts, and other scripts I've subscribed on Steam, but this one won't load. It doesn't work when I double click the icon, or when I click "Copy to Editor." No idea why.

Love this script for my scout ship. Nice feature would be to send this data to a base station so faction members could see my ore scouting results live!

Works great but maybe you could help me with something im trying to do similar? Ive been banging my head against this code for 2 weeks
Angry Lemur 22 Sep, 2018 @ 6:01pm
No longer compiles.
Lander1 25 May, 2017 @ 5:07pm
Brilliant script. However what I am looking for is a way to plot a map on an LCD from the coordinates, this gives me a way of collecting those coordinates, so one step closer to what I need...

Im working on a GPS System for J.A.R.V.I.S... I Need GPS data to figure out of my grid has moved. and if my ship has moved i need to recheck the exterior O2 Levels... if not i can assume after the first run its a constant... im also going ot build a mining GPS database... but i wanted to say thank you for this script because it taught me how to get the parts i need... keep up the good work...
Rogue Ronin 2501 8 Apr, 2017 @ 9:42am
will you update it up to 1.179
Go Left 1 Apr, 2017 @ 12:23am
no
jokerace45 28 Oct, 2016 @ 8:09pm
Under planned features, were you ever yable to implement "add waypoint X meters in front of you". I am looking for a script that can get GPS co ord's via crosshairs pointing at somethign withen game or some such methode. I am looking for a way to deliver "care packages" to any possible hostile neighbores. Hopefully in a manner of "Launch and forget"
Aschran 28 Aug, 2016 @ 2:15pm
Oooh then i wasnt reading it correctly, thank you MMaster, you perfectly answered my question.
(and ican now make the perfect weapon, auto guided torpedo that take its gps target from a drone with this script, that ill send to the ennemies)
squirt_reynolds 28 Aug, 2016 @ 10:13am
Yep, I use it... makes my cockpits look more sci-fi :D Thanks so much for commenting!
MMaster  [author] 28 Aug, 2016 @ 10:00am
Somebody still uses this? :) Sorry for late update, but it should now be compatible with latest stable version of the game.

@Aschram as the description explains this script:
- Gets position from first found of the following (in order): remote control, cockpit
there is no way to get players position from in-game script (maybe with sensor, but not otherwise)
squirt_reynolds 28 Aug, 2016 @ 9:01am
Hello, it appears that the newest SE update has broken your very nice GPS recorder script:)

I get a huge red error message now when I try to "check script" or run it. Any chance for an update soon? Many thanks! Cheers!

Hello i have a question, there a way to make a ship reccording its own gps and not player one ?
Oddity 27 Jan, 2016 @ 12:11pm
@MMaster well thanks for replying anyway! Maybe just keep it intime if you ever do run out of projects :D
MMaster  [author] 27 Jan, 2016 @ 11:04am
@LjSpike If I remember correctly then laser antenna shows coordinates in the details text in control panel. If that is true then it is definitely possible to make autopilot go to those coordinates. If it is not always possible to get coordinates of the other antenna from the details text then there is no other way to get them so in that case it would not be possible. Unfortunately I have to say no to question if I will do it. I really like this idea, but I can't even finish things that I wanted to do with my existing mods/scripts because I don't have time / mood to look at coding after I'm finished with my work. I'm sorry about that.
Oddity 27 Jan, 2016 @ 10:41am
@MMaster Do you think you could do a laser-antenna guidance script, so 2 laser antenna's lockon, the 'SENDER' antenna gives a GPS co-ordinate to the 'RECEIVER' then the receiver automatically pilots to that point. It'd be quite useful for docking in tighter hangars, or of course, to co-ordinate a fleet.
MMaster  [author] 24 Nov, 2015 @ 10:59am
Fixed ;)
Captain Awesome 24 Nov, 2015 @ 10:56am
Your the Man MMaster!
MMaster  [author] 24 Nov, 2015 @ 10:45am
Ok. I'm on it right now! ;)
Captain Awesome 24 Nov, 2015 @ 10:25am
I'm having the same problem as Airborne Elmo :(
MMaster  [author] 18 Oct, 2015 @ 11:59pm
Yeah. Game update broke it. I will try to fix it.
Airborne Elmo 18 Oct, 2015 @ 11:47pm
I've been using this script a lot but recently when I try to use it the block says "Caught exception during execution of script: object reference not set to an instance of an object" and then when I recompile the script the programming block says "assembly not found. please compile script."

I thought it was just something I was doing wrong but I get the same result when piloting your GPS Recording Ship blueprint.

Any ideas as to why this may be happening?
michelsoquay 5 Oct, 2015 @ 12:03pm
Hello
I'm fan of your creation, I already use your programmable LCD and it's really fonctionable
Now I wanted to use te GPS Recorder tools, but when I compile the script I received the following error:
"caught exception during execution of script:object reference not set to an instance of an object"
"assembly not found. Please compile script"
Can you help me or someone else
sorry for my english
Thanks

Script from God! :wizard: Everything is perfect, convenient and customizable.
the peepeepoopoo man 1 Oct, 2015 @ 4:18am
could this be used to make an autoplot ship follow this ship using the gps coordinates
the_educater 16 Jul, 2015 @ 3:07pm
we need to bring this to the attention of the devs.
MMaster  [author] 16 Jul, 2015 @ 2:25pm
UPDATE: 1.091 compatible - you need to update scripts in programmable blocks.

+There is no way to add waypoints to your GPS simpler than this that I know of.
SpaaaaaaceMouse 5 Jul, 2015 @ 2:12pm
Is it possible to use a simplified version of this with a automated offset from a ship to get others to follow you? I'm not sure if waypoints can be added while autopilot is running, but i thought it would be a much more effective way to move large groups of ships!
the_educater 24 Jun, 2015 @ 5:20pm
hey MMaster i have a briliant idea for a new script, what we need is a script to link a beacon to a set of gps points. so that when the beacon is moved the gps cordinates remain in the same reletive space. this would allow people to make large ship that can move around with out screwing up thier autopilot controled drone docking bays
-I have no idea how tho make scripts :(
Temporaryalien 6 Jun, 2015 @ 7:11am
Ooh MMaster make a script that if a player uses a Laser antenna to connevt to a other one he can send a message to a LCD screen on the other player he/she.Is connected with so its more like a privte massage but in game to were they dont need to go in there hud plus others can see it if you have a friend on that other ship that needs to know something as well.
IIChoochII 30 May, 2015 @ 11:09am
more like #scriptmaster
Vulpes 29 May, 2015 @ 11:09am
Thanks you
Vulpes 29 May, 2015 @ 5:37am
Awesome mod. And works like a charm.

Another question though. Where did you get that HUD skin from, that is shown in the video
Zefnoly 25 May, 2015 @ 10:36am
Now i see the point of this! Mapping ways for your patrolling ships around your base!!
Ironhelm 25 May, 2015 @ 9:59am
huh..... oops. wasn't showing up before. sorry.
MMaster  [author] 25 May, 2015 @ 8:57am
@skyrimman if you did not notice yet the answer is right below your comment
Ironhelm 24 May, 2015 @ 5:30pm
could you make it so that the script can upload directly to the remote (If its on the same ship of course) so that i can avoid moving waypoint 1 than two than three.....
MMaster  [author] 24 May, 2015 @ 2:06pm
@Anister my Automatic LCDs can show location. + you will be able to do that with this script once timer run argument is fixed as you just set 2 actions: reset, add .. and you will have what you asked for. But I'm not sure how useful will it be. Because there is no way to insert that location to remote control from script. It is also not possible to insert it into your GPS from ingame script. You need to do that manually.
MANister 24 May, 2015 @ 1:42pm
Something I thought of, if you were to update your loccation every second and remove the previous one, you'll get a constantly updated location tracker. That + AutoPilot can mean drones that fly together with you, or long range target seeking missiles!
FXH-71 24 May, 2015 @ 1:18pm
Oh well, game's still in Alpha and they might be adding long-range sensors and/or radar at some point, which could make it easier. So, maybe it's something for a different script in the future!
MMaster  [author] 24 May, 2015 @ 9:08am
but if you really want something like that I can try to think of something. first thing I was thinking about is adding ability to make waypoints in front of you by specifying distance somehow .. so you can make waypoint that is for example 500m in front of you. Not sure how to do it user friendly but I will try to figure something out. maybe after I figure that one out I will figure out how to do something similar to triangulation that will be more user friendly.
Its hard to figure out how to do it so it is easy to use and as you probably already know I won't release things that are not easily usable :)
MMaster  [author] 24 May, 2015 @ 8:36am
@Snezio Thanks + of course I know it is possible to use triangulation for figuring out position, but that is not automatic discovery of target position using laser as Bubbaton asked. Triangulation is really not what I would expect to be user friendly :) It is far from being automatic and precise and it is not usable in case target moves :) and it doesn't fit GPS recorder functionality ;)
FXH-71 24 May, 2015 @ 4:55am
Another nice script! Seriously yours are the best and most user-friendly ones in the workshop, even at an early stage!
Getting coords from a distance like Bubbaton says would actually be really great! I've seen it, so it is possible with ingame scripts to get coords using a camera from 2 different positions (check this out: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=410862647 ). Such functionality would be really useful to use in conjuction with the cruise missle script. Or perhaps a good idea for a new script! ;)
Bubbaton 23 May, 2015 @ 12:04pm
ok thanks; and your scripts are AWESOME!!
MMaster  [author] 23 May, 2015 @ 12:02pm
hehe. the script doesn't know coordinates of ship/station you are looking at :) there was a radar on the workshop maybe you can ask that guy. I don't plan doing something like that unless it will be possible from ingame script :) .. but .. never say never :)
Bubbaton 23 May, 2015 @ 11:58am
i mean (sorry for my english..) if a look throu a camera ant look at a target for my GPS-guidet torpedo, then i want the coords from the enemy.. (maybe the Laser from a turret, when it hits the "target"; maybee these coords)
