i cant connect the roads, every space is already occupied by the station, i even expended the gap between the building and the station by one, still nothing

@manu - I guess u mean the 8th track ;) Sorry for nit-picking. The 7th track is usable. The 8th is not. I am unsure if u ask if it is usable, or if I can make it usable. To the later: I doubt I will ever make the 8th track usable for passengers. The reason be that this track does not exist on the real station. And thus it has no platform.

Things are going quite a bit slower than I anticipated, on me getting to update this station. Sorry for that. No eta.

sure :) and if the height becomes an issue, see if you can get in touch with Boformer; he'll be able to tell you right away if it's possible or not, and in the case that it's not possible but is an easy fix, he'll probably fix it in a few days. He's pretty awesome :)

@No Dread - I guess u mean Sub-Buildings Enabler?! I looked through it's documentation. And I like it a lot. I could fear that it would be a problem with the height difference of my two building parts. I might do some testing when I return to this project. Thx for pointing me to this mod :highlvl:

You could consider updating this using the multi-building mod, which would make it so that all building parts were automatically placed :)

Hey,

this station looks great! But i really thing that u shoud crate more like this one! For example the train stations in Hamburg, Bremen or Dortmund. Also if it's for example the central station in Hamburg, to be with its real hight. I mean that it shoud be under the water lvl like this one here. And yeah if there is 2-3 subway tracks under the station like in the new airport would be really cool! I will be really happy if there is a way to stay in touch per mail or something so i can give u my ideas.

Thank you so much, it would really improve my city! I tried using a single track for both directions, but in heavy used lines, with some trains, they stuck in there. Anyway, thank you, I'll wait for your update.

@explotew - I think I know what u are trying to say :steamhappy: What u want is for one specific line to have two platforms available. One for each direction. It can't harm for me to at least put invisible pedestrian paths to track 1 and 8. So I will add that at some point. Then they are at least usable. Though cims will probly "teleport" to those tracks.

On this station (in real life) most lines have only one track. So they use the same track for both directions. Also, if they use two tracks, it's mainly from the same platform. Like using track 2 and 3. Which is also why track 1 and 8 does not exist in real life. For all this to work u will need a switching yard, both before and after the station. So that all platforms can service all incomming and outgoing tracks. Or at least the connections which are needed.

With all that said, I might add a platform to track 1 in the future. They are building it within the next year for a new tram/metro line.

Yeah, I know that. Let's number traks 1-8, so track 1 is the closest to the palace. What I'm trying to say is that tracks 3 and 4, are both international, so they can't be connected to local tracks in order to contain international trains. That leave track 2 isolated since track 1 has no pedestrian access. On the other side, we have tracks 5, 6 and 7.

So we have track 1 unusable, track 2 usable, track 3 and 4 only for international, so they can't connect with other tracks, track 5, 6, 7, and track 8 unusable also. That make very difficult to make train lines pass there, since track 2 which is usable is isolated.

It would work for me if cims could get at least to the track 1, there is like concrete on the floor of that track, and if you put a train stop there, cims from the other platforms can get there. It just lack of a conexion with the street. I hope I explaned myself. Thank you anyway, it's the best station in the game. I always plan my city around it.

@explotew - There are actually 8 track (4 double tracks). Track 1 and 8 has no pedestrian connection. But the other 6 tracks do. When u point out a track for a train route, u can select either left or right track of the double tracks. U might have to zoom in further to see it.

I hope this helps. Or else ask again. Maybe with some more info if u can think of any.

Please, can you make it possible for cims to get to the outside tracks? There's no need for platforms, but before the update cims coud wait on the ground for train lines, now they cant't. So since the AD update, I'm only able to use the second track for international trains and the third track for a train line. First and fourth tracks are unusable since cims can't reache the tracks. If I use another configuration of tracks, means that international line conects with local rails, causing a real mess. Please, consider creating a path to connect those two tracks. It's a great station, with it's palace and it's mean to be a central station, not a single line station.

@Prometheus2704 - To add extra tracks, u will need a mod like More Network Stuff . This will add Trainstation Tracks to the asset editor.

As for selecting which track to use for an outside connection: I have not experimented with this. My guess is that it uses the track closest to 0 0 0. It does not seam to be a case of which track is placed first, as the order of tracks (and other pathways) are randomly mixed around in the actual file.

If u want to look closer at the saved file of an asset, checks out this post [community.simtropolis.com]. Be warned that this can make ur brain melt :steamhappy:

You're correct (apologies for my first attempt at asking being ambiguous), I would like to know how one goes about specifying which track is used by outside trains.
If it's just a matter of which track is there first, based on the template, would you mind pointing me (I've not yet found one) to a tutorial for making multitrack stations? I could then perhaps "rebuild" your station for my particular purpose.

I'm sorry to say, that I can not help u there. Though some people call "making and importing a model" for modding. It is really not. And I have no idea of the code involved in a trains behaviour. Ur question is very interesting of course.

Further more, ur question is somewhat ambiguous. With inside/outside used in in two ways. I am saying this so u know to rephrase it, if u should ask elsewhere. I think what u mean is something like: "Can an outside train be made to use other tracks besides the original first track?" And u don't specify if u just want it to use another track for this connection. Or if u want it to use all tracks randomly.

I'm curious to know whether the outside trains can be made to use the outside track instead of an inside track. I'm doing some reading, but it would be my very first attempt at modding, and and so can't make head nor tails of what I'm reading.

@Alex - Yes that is true. But then u have to take half of the 12m in next image. Maybe its not too clear. If u have the tool to do fine road height, u can easier find the 6m with that.

Thanks Djelle! I'll try again when I have time and see. I did align the roofs to be in a line and I also made sure that it's 12m from top level to the bottom. If I still don't get it right, I'll make a screenshot.

@Alex - Thanks. It is really hard to answer such question. A screenshot or two would help immensely. Though my guess would be that the two parts are not alligned as they should be. Either Part 1 is too low. Or the roofs are not alligned as I try to describe in the help image.

Very nice station! A question though: when I try to connect the tunnels, the game doesn't let me and instead highlights the Part 2 in red... what am I doing wrong?

:zscroll: Here u have the AD updated model. I gave up trying to fix the bug which change the elevation of my pathways. So I changed the connection to a tunnel. As a plus, the new tunnel stopped cims from walking over the tracks :steamhappy: And also made it posible to place and connect Part 1 and 2 without the difference in ground elevation.

Already-placed stations gets the new look automaticly via the update. But keeps the old pathway through the buildings :steamhappy: If u had trouble connecting the tho parts and made an alternative sollution, u can move/replace both buildings to get the tunnels which are much easier to connect.

Can one of u guys with this model please test if u get the same "bug" as me when placing it?! The "bug" be that the elevation of the small pedestrian path inside the building is reset to ground level when the building is placed. The invisible paths do the same, though u obviously can't see that. Before the After Dark update, the ground would raise up to the path.

If this is how it's supposed to behave now, I have a big problem :steamsad:

@thomaspouilhe - Glad u like it :) The problem with the two outer tracks is that they should not be there. But as we only have double tracks, there is no way I can prevent that. This is a model of a real station, which is like this. Simply do not direct any trains to those two tracks ;) (I did write that in the text above. Hint, hint)

@D4vidoor - Well yes. Raise the ground ;) Sorry, but I'm not sure what ur question is. Are u using Terraform Tool? If u did everything correct up the placing of Part 1, U can move Part 2 away and try redo the low terrain. (I assume u are using the help images I made, to put it together)

@Albert Speer - Yes. U need a rood to connect to both parts. U can use the roads u place it at or u can place new roads. Nothing can be done about this behaviour.

rubbish seems to be piling up and the garbage trucks cannot reach it since it can only be accessible by pedestrian paths. any fixes to this?

U could go to Multi-track Station Enabeler as he has a list there. And u need the mod anyway (unless u use Trafic++).
