This mod *does* fix the reflection bugs in dark environments, at least, on the native linux version of the game, those damn texture bugs are gone, and I don't have to be forced to play with "medium shader".

Reshade is not so much of a reshade but literally the same thing is this mod here.

Redoing the world game with proper appearance could be cool, but don't hold your breath on it since it's less of a blanket application and more individual settings for everything. It's better to get what others have already done mostly because they also feature RNG features.

@N0PE. If you really want to use these shaders, just delete the default textures from the pack. It may not look good though with textures that are different while custom models not compatible at all.

Literally on any map some of the weapons are extremely shiny to the point of being white most noticeable with the crowbar.

It is very possible, and easy, to separate the the model's textures, it just requires a decompile, some editing of the smd, and a recompile, to get the four models working independently.

I could try generate more details to the reflection, but it'll always be the same valve material type data unless we can separate those in parts with the model yes.

You can only have different textures for 2 or more of those weapons by including them all in one vpk as far as I know. Don't think there's a way to have shaders affect different parts of one image. I think you would have to replace the axe's model in game with an identical model and apply seperate shaders to that.

The point of this fix is to reflect the textures as intended. I can't single out one part of the weapon to be different without affecting the others. Most likely either be that or what valve set, doing otherwise is out of my knowledge. Considering the Axe, Machete, Frying pan share the same texture in one .vtf, if anyone knows how to separate them that'd be nice.

This makes items like the frying pan and the golf club incredible.
Unfortunately I had to unsub because of the unrealistic and distracting glossy/wet look it gave to the axe, bat and cricket bat.

I may do so for the throwables, ammo boxes and kits/pills. Survivors? Maybe, you have HD remakes already out there that looks pretty good, at least for the L4D1 survivors in my knowledge. One thing to notice is how the default textures look a lot better with those settings, but again this is only a mere change, no retextures involved so they are potentially better looking mods to be chosen over.
