Will we ever get the individual object assets of this? like the arcade games?
Corrodias 9 Apr, 2021 @ 7:27pm
That may be the objects to which the scenery is anchored. If I recall correctly... there sometimes used to be some errors when loading these colliders, but back in the day I found out that we could make them "points" with zero volume, which made them stable and noninteractive. If the game engine has changed a little, such that they no longer work that way, that could be a problem.

Hi there! I love this mod but... I have the invisible small collider bug in the middle of the table, which is annoying, it prevents playing games with boards like chess. I tried to replace the ColliderURL with all the different possibilities I found in the comments but nothing is working, the small invisible annoyance is still there :D. Do you have an idea?
Kyle Ren 9 Aug, 2020 @ 1:28pm
I love this mod, possibly my favorite mod on all of TTS! For the last couple of months, when I additive load it to another mod it spawns the table halfway through the floor, so it looks like the table has super short legs :D
Is this intentional? Not a complaint, just an observation
dageek 26 Aug, 2019 @ 5:24pm
Hey GameFreak. Thank you so much for the prompt update. I really appreciate it. Cheers man!
GameFreak  [author] 25 Aug, 2019 @ 9:08pm
Alright guys, I've updated the mod. I went ahead and removed the pipes since they were casting ugly shadows everywhere and uploaded the content files to steam cloud.
Corrodias 25 Aug, 2019 @ 8:30pm
Yeah, the lighting engine had some tweaks since this was originally made, and the shadows now look kind of disruptive.
dageek 25 Aug, 2019 @ 5:28pm
I love this, and in fact I have made it a required prerequisite for my workshop submission as well.
Request:
Can you either remove the shadow from the AC unit-tubes, or perhaps relocate them? All rectangular tables have the shadow fall directly overhead and some things are quite hard to read.

Would love to see an update to this to fix some of the problems people are having. Would love to see more like it as well.

@Red Inferno-
I've got that problem, too
Do yall have any other favorite "3d" backgrounds like this?
Corrodias 27 May, 2017 @ 6:14pm
I've noticed the same thing, and I have no idea why.
Red Inferno 19 May, 2017 @ 12:30am
There seems to be a bug when you load the json that it deploys the background too early. That is from me loadin the background over the save. If you load just the background it creates a gap between the floor and the wall of the background. https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=928489409
Corrodias 1 Feb, 2017 @ 12:38pm
One can avoid the shadows simply by loading each piece of the mod individually but skipping the pipes object.
Corrodias 23 Nov, 2016 @ 1:22am
Lately I started using TTS again, and I have noticed that there are shadows on the table from the pipes near the ceiling. Strange. Think there's anything that can be done about those?

By far, the best background for the game. This background stands out among all the mods for this game and I would reccomend this to every single player. Hope to see more from GameFreak!
Speyeke 20 Jan, 2016 @ 8:55pm
ok thanks
GameFreak  [author] 20 Jan, 2016 @ 8:53pm
You can edit your save file and remove the Custom_Model entries pertaining to the cafe. I don't know of an easier way to do this.
Speyeke 20 Jan, 2016 @ 8:44pm
How do I delete the cafe without messing anything I have built in the save?
DVecc 15 Jan, 2016 @ 10:21pm
The background can sometimes manage to glitch and send the table through the floor. It seldomly moves the background around when moving a object.
Corrodias 29 Dec, 2015 @ 5:14pm
You might want to update the screenshots to reflect the lack of couches now, so people don't think something's missing. I like that they were removed, but I had to read through the comments to learn that it wasn't a glitch.
Corrodias 29 Dec, 2015 @ 12:47am
Indeed, it's very smooth now. Both the workshop save and the downloadable chest object work fine. It's so nice to have a floor! :)
Tyrant 28 Dec, 2015 @ 6:00am
Works great, thanks!
GameFreak  [author] 28 Dec, 2015 @ 5:47am
Ended up doing it now. Tell me if you find any problems.
Tyrant 28 Dec, 2015 @ 5:20am
I know I'd appreciate that too because I'm not sure what goes into converting a workshop JSON into a chest JSON.
Tyrant 28 Dec, 2015 @ 5:18am
You can't bundle in saved objects, but you can certainly put a link to a Chest JSON file within the mod so people can download it into their chests folder and use it with whatever they want.
GameFreak  [author] 28 Dec, 2015 @ 5:17am
By the way, I've realized that I wouldn't be able to included saved objects as part of the mod, so you'll just have to take that as another juggestion. Some json editing should get it into your saved objects list without much trouble.
GameFreak  [author] 28 Dec, 2015 @ 5:14am
I imagine it's because you can't create a face with just a single vertex, but with four you can. What you can't do with a single face though, is create a solid object for collisions, so it nicely gets around both problems.
Tyrant 28 Dec, 2015 @ 5:12am
I'm not sure what makes Corrodias's fix different from yours, GameFreak, but this one doesn't throw any errors in TTS. It might just be the way it parses it.
GameFreak  [author] 28 Dec, 2015 @ 5:11am
Yes, that's how I usually do it. You may also save objects to the chest and load them once you've loaded the map. This has given me an idea though, I bet it's possible to turn the background to a saved object in the chest, making it far more convenient to use. I'll look into that and updating the collider this afternoon.
Tyrant 28 Dec, 2015 @ 5:05am
Corrodias's fix seems to work, I recommend incorporating it ASAP!
Corrodias 28 Dec, 2015 @ 12:46am
It's a great "background", but as it's not a simple background image, it doesn't seem like you could easily use it in combination with other games or workshop items. Am I mistaken? I would love to do so, because having an actual floor is far more comfortable than floating in an abyss.

I suppose I could just copy the ObjectStates in the json into a save (and set the background to Cathedral for nice lighting)... That seems to work pretty well.

Speaking of the collider, try giving this a shot. I am not certain what the game doesn't like about the single-vertex version, but it seems to accept this happily.

Tyrant 9 Dec, 2015 @ 5:04pm
Right, I know how to do that. Thanks! :)
GameFreak  [author] 9 Dec, 2015 @ 4:48pm
Just replace the collider link with this and make a save. Load that save when you want to use the background. You can also edit the mod file and change it directly if that doesn't work. It's rather easy if you open it in notepad. https://dl.dropbox.com/s/kzumnudn2ehcj03/collision.obj
Tyrant 9 Dec, 2015 @ 4:13pm
Sure, I'll give it a shot.
GameFreak  [author] 9 Dec, 2015 @ 3:51pm
Yeah, I don't really have a perfect way to fix that. If you wish, I can give you an alternative collision mesh, but the center of the table will have a small invisible obstruction.
Tyrant 9 Dec, 2015 @ 12:48pm
Keeps throwing an error, Loading Collider Mesh Error: Argument is out of range, Parameter name: index

I figure it'd probably related to your Oct 27th comment down below, but it's especially annoying when you rewind and it not only comes up again, but 'Loading 25/34 74%' becomes stuck on the screen forever.
Roodwick 30 Oct, 2015 @ 9:15am
Cancel my last comment. I'm an absolute moron.
Roodwick 30 Oct, 2015 @ 9:11am
I'm not 100% sure as to how to go about actually using this. It's not in my "background" sets, and it doesn't show up in my "subscribed" item lists, or custom item lists.
GameFreak  [author] 27 Oct, 2015 @ 8:30am
I've added that fix, the game complains a bit and brings up a custom object dialog, but it seems to work regardless.
Furious George 27 Oct, 2015 @ 6:48am
How do I implement that collision fix to the center of the table?
GameFreak  [author] 18 Sep, 2015 @ 6:47am
Yes

Hey. Just thought I'd say that this is great. Awesome job with making a working 3D background. Wish there were more like this.

However, there's one thing I think should be noted. With this being used, there's a tiny little collision model in the very center of the table, and as I was spawning and moving things around, it got in the way a little bit. However I figured out how to fix it. I created a collision .obj so that theres only 1 vertex and its value is just zero, and now there's no more collision in the center of the table!

If you'd like, here's the text so you can just put it in a text editor and save it as an obj.

v 0.0000 0.0000 0.0000

g default
f 4 3 2 1

There don't seem to be any negative side effects, so hopefully this helps. Thanks for the great background!

After tinkering around with the files themselves, I was able to remove the couches by doing what I said. Here's what it looks like with the couches removed: http://i.imgur.com/j1BFSv2.png
It doesn't break the mod in any way. You can test it out for yourself to be sure.

And here is the texture file without the couches: http://i.imgur.com/bUJtIVo.jpg

If you can upload a second mod using this texture that would make my day. Since I don't have the know-how of uploading mods and it is your mod.
Neko 25 Aug, 2015 @ 3:49pm
The big thing is D&D and Pathfinder setups where there is character sheets and or dice boxes extend right outside of the table. I think the easiest fix would be to go into the textures and make the couch texture transparent. The couches themselves no clip through everything so making them invisible wouldn't break the mod. Here are examples of what it looks like with a bigger setup: http://i.imgur.com/5kLakxP.png and http://i.imgur.com/8m2joQN.png . Oh and sorry for forgetting about my comment until a week later.
GameFreak  [author] 16 Aug, 2015 @ 3:17am
Send me a screenshot of the problem and I'll look into it.
