Is this mod still working?
Larsen 12 Mar, 2023 @ 9:21am
please update so this works :( best mod ever...
Ricebug 12 Aug, 2022 @ 10:58am
The icon is not showing up in the editor.
Crashy 8 Jun, 2021 @ 1:53am
Oh, uh. Is there also a way to have the resources generate on land, not under water?
Crashy 8 Jun, 2021 @ 1:49am
I also found that if you use the Terrain Heights in the Info Views, you can get a look at the land vs water levels.
Crashy 8 Jun, 2021 @ 1:43am
I'm trying not to be dumb, but what do you mean center point of the terrain?
icecoole 28 May, 2021 @ 4:00pm
Mod seems to work well in the editor. I exit game each time after a save if I want to test map or leave the editor to do something else. Exiting game seems to prevent a lot of crashes and problems. It is a pain but it is worth while. Excited to use this mod. Will comment further after further use. I have the Vanilla version of the game with minimal mods.

i made a map using this, i saved it, i tried to make a save using it, didnt work
then i tried loading the map in the editor again, and all that happened was i saw a flat landscape with a big pillar in the middle. and all that was on screen was a error message.

So I was working on a map and I can no longer find the icon for this. It shows up if I start a new map, but not the map that I originally had it on. Any idea what might cause that?

Thanks for including the references! I'm off to go read about the algorithm :)
BigDamnHero 5 Sep, 2020 @ 12:44pm
So I guess this doesn't work anymore

Work in v 1.12. :hardhat: Nice mod. :chirp:
alf810 27 Nov, 2018 @ 6:59pm
@Makeda79 - as the description says, it's for Map Editor. I don't think an in-game one has been made yet or if it can be.
c0pa79 27 Nov, 2018 @ 1:16pm
no info in how to start using this at all, like where in the game is it???
macluk 10 Jul, 2017 @ 9:40am
Problem solved. As usual disorganised Steam.
macluk 10 Jul, 2017 @ 9:27am
Funny - i have subscribed to the mod and it is not downloaded at all, can't use it. I have no other mods, just removed all others to start afresh... And this one seems to be reluctant to appear on the game or in the map editor... or in the game folder (workshop/content/255710). It's nowhere.

I have a feature request. Can you make an option on the tree generator to NOT place trees below sea level?
Dimensional One 10 May, 2017 @ 10:54pm
I'm dying for CS or one or more great modders to come up with a random map generator in game. It is the one most essential thing I think this game is lacking. Thankyou for getting us this far though.

Hey all i've just updated to a new version with some crash bug fixes. Please let me know if anyone experiences any errors. Thank you.
ziekdrama  [author] 5 Dec, 2016 @ 8:13am
Hey guys sorry to hear this. For now if you experience problems i recommend uninstalling this mod. II haven't worked on this mod for a while but I'll see what i can do in the next few weeks.
Steeley56 4 Dec, 2016 @ 10:57am
love this mod but it needs an update or some one to keep it going as ziekdrama hasnt been online for a while now
MadSynth 2 Dec, 2016 @ 7:51pm
I keep getting errors for this mod since 1.6 update.
I AM BORG 24 Sep, 2015 @ 4:32am
I got the same error KuroGecko got, however only when I loaded a saved game from the Pause Menu
R-Alakaslam 15 Aug, 2015 @ 6:19am
Only happened on the one map. Was odd.
ziekdrama  [author] 14 Aug, 2015 @ 8:03am
Thank you for reporting this. I'll dive into it and see if i can fix it.
R-Alakaslam 12 Aug, 2015 @ 3:45pm
So far, very impressed by this mod. This happened though, and the generator didn't show up.

A Mod caused an error [ModException]

There was indeed a bug :) It should have been fixed as of now. Please let me know if there are more issues.
ziekdrama  [author] 26 Jun, 2015 @ 11:39am
I think it's quite possible this could be a bug. Thanks for reporting it. I will look into it shortly.
City Builder 26 Jun, 2015 @ 4:05am
Might be a bit buggy.

1. Not sure if it's not meant to work for European maps or not but I was creating a temperate map, then chose to create a new map (Euro map) and once the map editor loaded again the icon for the terrain generator was missing. I have yet to try to use it by starting the editor and using a Euro map theme to begin with, only noticed that after already generating a temperate map and then telling the game to create a new Euro map that the Terrain Gen icon is gone and it's not possible to use.
LegionOfMe 19 Jun, 2015 @ 6:21am
Sadly for me the icons did not show. As maps take 10-15 minutes to load on my laptop, I sadly can't help you figure out if this is an incompatibility with any other mod, because this would take me half a year. What might be related: I was able to click the 2 heightmap buttons, but no UI opened anymore.
ziekdrama  [author] 14 Jun, 2015 @ 1:31am
Rivers, yes! That's definitely something i would like to have myself. I'm currently experimenting with it, but don't expect anything soon. Roads sounds harder to do but not impossible, probably. I'm vaguely thinking of a templating system for road layouts which could be imported/exported. I just need more time :)
GTD-Carthage 13 Jun, 2015 @ 5:42am
I was about to mention SimCity 2000 but someone else already did! This mod should have really been part of the base game to begin with rather than having a bunch of premade maps that, well, aren't really as good-looking as what the community has produced. This awesome work further fuels my desire for mayoring!

I have a question though and the degrees of their implementation is probably exponentially harder... will the generation of rivers and, perhaps at one point, roads be something to look into?
ziekdrama  [author] 13 Jun, 2015 @ 4:28am
At this time water is more or less a manual thing. I do have some nice ideas though related to water, but it might take me a while to implement it.
utrillalm 12 Jun, 2015 @ 12:53pm
thanks for this mod!!! just curious... will be an option to generate more or less water into the maps (just remembering sim city 2000) thanks!!
ziekdrama  [author] 12 Jun, 2015 @ 7:24am
Hello thank you all for your nice comments. I never expected this to be such a success!

As of today i have added natural resource generation and tree generation. Both work a bit the same way as terrain generation.

However tree generation is really slow currently. But it works basically. I'll try to improve on this in future versions.

Have fun and thanks for downloading!

This should be vanilla, honestly· Making maps isn't easy and fast in Skylines, so we missed a lot this mod·
nev375 5 Jun, 2015 @ 10:54am
THANK YOU! This is just what I needed. I'm terrible at creating maps because it just doesn't feel natural or random enough. I hope you implement forestation, resources and other generation controls as well in the future.
knighthawkGP 3 Jun, 2015 @ 7:52am
Cool and very useful mod, look forward to playing around with it, thank you.
$hady 3 Jun, 2015 @ 5:43am
Absolutely the best mod going. (not to take away friom the other AWESOME mods that are out there. Shows the engines capability Makes really nice base maps. top notch.
LegionOfMe 2 Jun, 2015 @ 8:43am
I have been hoping for something like this from the first time I opened the map editor. Thanks a lot. +1

amazing just amazing you sir should be proud of yourself. that said a little more ability to tweak the settings would be appreciated
templeofdoom 1 Jun, 2015 @ 12:39pm
Does this change/add/subtract resources on the game map as well? Would be cool if somehow that feature could also be added... :D
Verullus Forgefire 1 Jun, 2015 @ 11:57am
Awesome have been waiting for this. :)
