be sure to look at some of the tutorials in the csgo guide section - there are several that help to explain the details of how the skinning mechanics work
Very pleased to read constructive thoughts. And they are very helpful.
I'm not sure i can control which parts are more reflective, but I'll think about it.
I'll create new/patina collection to implement all your points there. Because custom paint is not very reflective.
Also, in patina red will be more dull:)
Yeah, those thousands of useless skins, also I've noticed some "blackmailing". Probably bots of those skins, downvoting everything. (I hope I'm just overreacting on this)
base design is definitely good - some thoughts:
- definitely make the gold bits reflective, they really help to make the edges "pop"
- either the red or the black sections need some kind of subtle base pattern, even if only present through slight phong variations (you could give one of the colors a solid matte finish, which would help to highlight the contrast)
- great color choice, though my personal tastes would have a more dull/burgundy red (I prefer the red in the preview/branding image than the one in the actual screenshots)
- you could always try out a patina finish as well, though I don't know offhand how it ends up laying out on the UMP
also, it's good to see someone who cares enough about detail to redo a skin over artifacting, most people just slap up whatever shit they find from google image search and call it a day
