yeah for some reason it keeps that ctrl+M as a shortcut even if you change it using a mod.

Mesh Info is fully compatible with Plazas & Promenades DLC.


If you have music mods, use the super secret key combination to open Mesh Info window: Ctrl + Alt + Shift + M.

Please follow the Plazas & Promenades DLC Compatible modlist.

Mesh info still works perfectly after the airports release. My issue seems to have been related to 2 other mods not being compatible (More effective transfer manager continued, and building spawn points).

@All This mod helps to find quickly wrong textures and much to high tris data (LOD should be focused in both cases), but you all should take into account that a lot of current game DLC models are also "red", because CO uses much more detailed models for newer DLCs than in base game back in 2015. Furthermore the game improved a lot and there are some mods available to improve your FPS and RAM usage (e.g. FPS-Booster and Loading Screen Mod). Your current FPS depends on current visible assets, including it's LOD. A high detailed vehicle can have a few tris LOD, so that performance impact can just be seen, if the vehicle is within main range and a lot of other models as well.
Generaly speaking one zoomed high detailed city road will drop your FPS much more than a zoomed small settlement without use of much decoration, even if a few higher tris assets are shown.

just avoid such assets - they may look pretty... but that's like with people - they look pretty on the outside... and they might be too "heavy" on the inside ;)

Well this one actually has 3 assets like main build and props each one with more than 300 in weight. unfortunally my system is not to powerfull =/.

if it's one such asset, it should be fine (unless your PC already sighs) - it is too heavy for the game, yes, it's not design with the game in mind or game experience, it's rather just for the look.
I wouldn't worry too much though if you keep an eye on number of such assets. It's not over bloated. Some assets are a lot worse :)

Wow. I have this asset https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2047754301 , and for me is 2400 / 380 but the seconds two number are RED 209.31 and 38.68 so its too bad dont it? I means its very heavy and bad for performance right?

@macluk -- Wow...do I feel your pain. To my knowledge, there's no existing way to resolve that and the author, BoogiemanSam, has long since left modding for Cities Skylines.

It's not a big problem but it made life a lot easier when this mod was showing workshop ID numbers... now increasing number of assets stopps showing those ID numbers.
Is there any way around it?

@Hayran -- It should work right after you load the city. This mod checks all the assets you're subscribed to, whether or not they're used in your city. I hope this helps. :ap_reallyhappy:

Hi. Does anyone knows if I have a lot of assets with triangle numbers like 55k, 50k, 45k and put those buildings in my game, what would happen?

Recently I create several maps and they all only allow me to reach a population of around 100k. I know this is too weird, because I have one map that has a population of 950k. I mean, is this problem caused by too much assets with too high triangle number?

This function would be something great to add to the loading screen mod. If you get a crash and are looking though the reports, having this information might (I said might) help in the troubleshooting. At least the author left his source code behind. Some people just take their bay & ball and leave taking their mod & source with them.

A follow-up on my previous comment - it appears that what I observed was related only to the trees filter. All other filters display both custom and built-in object data no matter which key combination is used to open the panel.

Super secret key combination does not seem to work as described for me. Regardless of which shortcut I use (Ctrl+M vs Ctrl+Alt+Shift+M), Mesh Info always displays custom assets data only, but nothing on built-in ones. No errors or debug output whatsoever. Ideas?

@sagiluv1 Yeah, that's correct. Also bare in mind if you use a lot of un-optimized assets, those are cycles being taken away and will slow down the simulation.

i would pay and or donnate this guy some money if he released a mesh info tooll that is able to remove bad assets in bulk... i had bsod problems and reinstalled and forgot to takke a damn backup of my edited assets as i went ahead and hand removed them since urls diddnt always work i stoped bothering and went ahead spending 72 hours in removing bad assets everything that had red numbers was removed over 3k items... noww they all back =/ i prob wont play this gamne anymore till succh tool comes available its to much of a pain to do by hannd again

Some advice for all of you guys: if you want to reduce the RAM consumption, you should primarily remove assets with large LOD textures (you can sort by size). Also, the other (non-LOD) texture size is what the game loads when you zoom in closer, so you probably want to delete some of those large ones as well.

The "weight" is more relevant if you have a weak GPU with low ram and/or low processing capability for number of triangles on screen, so you should only pay attention to that if you have a really old card, but I think 90% of the people can ignore that since all higher end GPUs since 2008 (?) shouldn't have much problems with that.

For props and trees it would be pretty awsome if there was a way to group all the assets that are a part of one steamID or at least sort by that; idea for anyone wanting to upgrade this I guess.

Hmm, not 100% sure this is reporting the whole story for every asset. See, this building https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=416922008 , which is entirely made from standard props afaict, has a 1x1 footprint but contains extra props 'behind' it to fill space up to a 1x4 plot. I think mesh info is taking all possible prop triangles and counting them against the 1x1 square, since this is coming up as the heaviest building i have: http://i.imgur.com/zQabdhq.jpg .

I'm guessing that it'd be hella non-trivial for someone to make a mod that considered optional submesh areas of a building, so I guess just keep in mind that possibly some of the mesh weight of some buildings is only shown when they're taking up more space than the weight is being calculated for.

Great mod. Got rid off the very bad optimized asset and game loading time improved. But two other problems are still remaining. 1st) When I want to quit to main menu game crashes -CTD. 2nd) - game has fps stutter even when I have decent i5-2500k running up to 70% not 100% load and nv GTX 960. Could anyone give me help? Thank you.

I saw a lot of videos of the game City Skyline and where there is a lot a lot of buildings and elements
