You need to use TMPE ,
-Click speed limits
-Select Unlimited
-Select the track you want the speed to be increased, even if its already at unlimited. Basically appliing unlimited speed limits twice to the track .
Tada now thomas can fly at 400km/h

On the other hand, seeing it's half a year since you where online last, I guess you don't play any Steam Games anymore?
I'd love Monsters Inc style cable cars and jetfoil transit.
Thanks. I think I actually stumbled into it eventually but its good to have the information out there.
in the main menue of the game... where you can enable/disable mods, there should be an option-button for this mod (many mods have this button, if it is possible to make some general settings). there you should find what you are looking for.
Traffic Manager: President Edition allows you to do that.
I released an update which lets you configure the max speed of metro/train tracks.
Also, yes, you still need this mod even if you use TM:PE. as already mentioned that mod doesn't remove the networks speed limit. I asked LinuxFan already long times ago, but I think he didn't saw this comment - If he is willing to include the functionality I hope he'll extend it for "More Train Tracks" too :)
@Termite I would say yes, since the unlimited sign only removes the limit but doesn't increase the speed.
After experimenting some more with turning this mod on and off, I'm convinced that the rail track speed influences use of both passenger and freight trains. I raised freight capacity with AVO but they still kept sending trains with little cargo to the point where my cargo lines had long lines. Even tried modifying your code and lower top speed to 200, freight congestion persisted. But with vanilla speeds, no problem...
Also, does this also mean that there are openings to remodel how cims decide if to walk to the tram/metro/train or take the car?
Makes one wonder if congestion is at all accounted for or if the chosen mode of transport is entirely based on theoretical maximum speed of the road/tracks.
1.) Alot more freight trains to the point where it gets congested. Did not have that problem before.
2.) More use of the passenger trains in general. I also have some light rail systems running in closed circuits and at a speed of 85, still their usage doubled. Metros also have more travellers.
3.) More car traffic leaving the train stations. Not sure if this is because of the increased traffic or how it works.
Maybe this is already common knowledge amongst the modders but I figured I'd share my observations.
The railway gates are always closed and barely a train spawns sometimes.
When mod is disabled, gates are open and trains spawn as usual.
