Ok so i found out why the speed is at 150 for some tracks and above for others,
You need to use TMPE ,
-Click speed limits
-Select Unlimited
-Select the track you want the speed to be increased, even if its already at unlimited. Basically appliing unlimited speed limits twice to the track .

Tada now thomas can fly at 400km/h
Fruit 14 Jan, 2023 @ 1:55am
Seems to have issues, trains cannot go over 150km/h consistently and can inexplicably slow down for no reason. In certain conditions trains can shoot off to 450km/h so the limit is being increased, but something is happening to the train's behaviour
Gallego 3 Mar, 2022 @ 1:10pm
Just doesnt work anymore... I have normal tracks (no speed limit) - Trains and Metros at 300km/h via AVO, but they cant pass over the 150km
Teddy Radko 4 Aug, 2020 @ 3:52am
Would this mod work with the Metro Overhaul Mod? Perhaps tram functionality would be warrented if MOM then inherits the increased speed possibilities.
nhatanh0475 19 Aug, 2019 @ 11:33pm
Traffic manager mod can change speed too right? Oh this mods has not been up-to-date, I gonna use traffic manager.
paper9oll 29 May, 2019 @ 7:36am
is it compatible with monorail ... want to create a maglev system
j.lissemore 14 Apr, 2019 @ 5:50am
Any chance you could create the same things for the blimp pathways? Then they might be a useful transport system. Thanks
LAC_94 19 Jan, 2019 @ 10:12am
Can you increase the speed up to 600 km/h pls?
Darkangel 12 Mar, 2018 @ 3:00am
also what is teh mod that shows you the actual speed of teh vehicle as first person cam doesnt have it but i think drive it or teh one with steering wheel may show speeds so you can tell if the train is going above 130???? Pls list all speed showing mods.
Darkangel 12 Mar, 2018 @ 2:57am
Hang on Marco are you saying that if you put your train to say 375 km /hr which is what i have and prez edition for rail has infinity the damn thing cant go any faster than130 km hr anyway making ipt and traffic manager prez utterly useless as far as increasing their speeds about 130km/hr???? penguin should fix the default values then if what you say is true.
Marco6158 16 Jun, 2017 @ 1:18pm
IPT mod lets you edit the top speed of the train itself. This mod lets you change the maximum speed allowed in-game for trains which (by default) is 130km/h. IPT only let you change top speed of a single train which is ignored anyway since the dafault top speed is, as I said, 130km/h.
CyberFlexie 15 Jun, 2017 @ 1:44pm
Doesn't traffic manager president edition allow to do what this mod does? I think it also allows to change speeds of road and tracks alike...
Angelhearth 29 May, 2017 @ 5:14pm
@DontCryJustDie Will you add Monorail to this mod? And any chance you will increase the speed even further; Maglev trains can, theoretically, in real life, reach speeds close to that of an airplane.

On the other hand, seeing it's half a year since you where online last, I guess you don't play any Steam Games anymore?
Canadian Aether 1 May, 2017 @ 12:16pm
Thanks for making this mod. This mod is very helpful for my mass transit system. Now my inner-city elevated trains can travel up to 250km/hr and get passengers around my large city at a faster pace.
Chi Walker 11 Mar, 2017 @ 3:09am
Hey, are you going to update this for the new Mass Transit DLC to include monorails, ferries and cable cars?

I'd love Monsters Inc style cable cars and jetfoil transit.
arKtur 25 Feb, 2017 @ 11:53pm
@antonio.saydam read what the Author said.
Centralistein Bankberg 9 Feb, 2017 @ 12:39pm
ive downloaded it and nothing showed up is there a key to open it ingame or something is wrong with my game
DrBill 5 Feb, 2017 @ 6:40am
Will the trains go faster than they will if I set speed to unlimited using TM:PE?
Elessar 25 Jan, 2017 @ 1:40pm
thank you for this mod! can you also make one for (off-road) tram tracks?
Ah Terae 22 Jan, 2017 @ 2:55pm
@Elias
Thanks. I think I actually stumbled into it eventually but its good to have the information out there.
Elias 16 Jan, 2017 @ 4:27pm
@Wikki Waughn
in the main menue of the game... where you can enable/disable mods, there should be an option-button for this mod (many mods have this button, if it is possible to make some general settings). there you should find what you are looking for.
Ah Terae 18 Dec, 2016 @ 2:11pm
Where is the user interface for this mod? I've downloaded it, but can't seem to figure out how to use it.
kilgardesvagen 3 Dec, 2016 @ 6:27pm
Makes engines fast as a rocket, wow. Thanks.
LIDL 21 Oct, 2016 @ 3:27am
That was Nice hhh Halling a////////ss :ssl:
Londsw 21 Aug, 2016 @ 2:41pm
thank you so much love this mod =) i wonder if by any chance it is possible to Push the limit
anvaho 12 Aug, 2016 @ 12:36am
@moca25
Traffic Manager: President Edition allows you to do that.
Moca Latte 4 Jul, 2016 @ 12:20pm
can you do this with normal raods and i want to set 1 to 90mph and i nother to 40mph plz i really need it
DontCryJustDie  [author] 18 Mar, 2016 @ 11:43am
@skallben No I'm not in contact with LinuxFan.

I released an update which lets you configure the max speed of metro/train tracks.
[Delta ²k5] 16 Mar, 2016 @ 8:27pm
Adding of trams doesn't make much sense: In reality they only drive up to 100km/h as the catenary system isn't supposed to take higher speeds (the cables would start to wobble around)

Also, yes, you still need this mod even if you use TM:PE. as already mentioned that mod doesn't remove the networks speed limit. I asked LinuxFan already long times ago, but I think he didn't saw this comment - If he is willing to include the functionality I hope he'll extend it for "More Train Tracks" too :)
skallben 16 Mar, 2016 @ 1:04pm
Thanks, I'll try your suggestion. You in contact with LinuxFan?
DontCryJustDie  [author] 16 Mar, 2016 @ 5:54am
Best would be if LinuxFan adds higher speed limits for rails to TM:PE which you could then apply to your high speed network only.
DontCryJustDie  [author] 16 Mar, 2016 @ 5:42am
@skallben You could separate your cargo and public transport and then use TM:PE to apply a speed limit on the cargo network.
@Termite I would say yes, since the unlimited sign only removes the limit but doesn't increase the speed.
Termite 16 Mar, 2016 @ 3:46am
Is this mod still needed if I am using 'Traffic President'?
skallben 15 Mar, 2016 @ 4:00pm
@DontCryJustDie Do you know of any method to control the numbers of freight trains being sent out?
After experimenting some more with turning this mod on and off, I'm convinced that the rail track speed influences use of both passenger and freight trains. I raised freight capacity with AVO but they still kept sending trains with little cargo to the point where my cargo lines had long lines. Even tried modifying your code and lower top speed to 200, freight congestion persisted. But with vanilla speeds, no problem...
DontCryJustDie  [author] 15 Mar, 2016 @ 10:22am
No, this version only supports metro and train tracks. But I could add tram support if needed.
Excalibur 15 Mar, 2016 @ 10:03am
Does it support tram?
whyeich 9 Mar, 2016 @ 2:05am
Thank you! Express train is back again
skallben 8 Mar, 2016 @ 10:24am
@SamsamTS Is it possible to circumvent/counteract with modding so that this mod lets us have fast trains without side effects?
Also, does this also mean that there are openings to remodel how cims decide if to walk to the tram/metro/train or take the car?
Makes one wonder if congestion is at all accounted for or if the chosen mode of transport is entirely based on theoretical maximum speed of the road/tracks.
SamsamTS 8 Mar, 2016 @ 7:41am
@skallben That might be possible indeed. It probably affects the path-finding. The way I understand it, the game looks for the fastest route based on the lane/train track speed. Since this mod triple the speed of train tracks (more or less), the path-finding should find faster routes via train with this mod enabled. This mean less delivery trucks and more cargo trains as well.
skallben 8 Mar, 2016 @ 2:58am
It works for me aswell now, thank you for you work. There are also some interesting side effects to it which makes me believe some of the games simulation may be tied to rail track speed.

1.) Alot more freight trains to the point where it gets congested. Did not have that problem before.
2.) More use of the passenger trains in general. I also have some light rail systems running in closed circuits and at a speed of 85, still their usage doubled. Metros also have more travellers.
3.) More car traffic leaving the train stations. Not sure if this is because of the increased traffic or how it works.

Maybe this is already common knowledge amongst the modders but I figured I'd share my observations.
DontCryJustDie  [author] 7 Mar, 2016 @ 11:08am
For me the mod was still working but I added some null checks and did several other changes which hopefully makes it more stable.
skallben 7 Mar, 2016 @ 9:05am
Great! Thank you :)
DontCryJustDie  [author] 7 Mar, 2016 @ 8:10am
I'll look at it when I have some spare time.
skallben 7 Mar, 2016 @ 5:29am
@DontCryJustDie Doesnt work anymore and gives an error message: "Could not increase rail track speed. Object reference not set to an instance of an object". Can it be fixed?
skallben 6 Mar, 2016 @ 1:11pm
Would be fantastic to see this work again.
Markus 22 Feb, 2016 @ 2:58am
Does not work anymore :(
GordonDry 13 Jan, 2016 @ 8:11am
Confirmed. It's incompatible.
The railway gates are always closed and barely a train spawns sometimes.

When mod is disabled, gates are open and trains spawn as usual.
GordonDry 13 Jan, 2016 @ 8:00am
Could it be that this mod still needs a fix?
AD?
Compatibility to NeXt, TAM, etc.
GordonDry 3 Nov, 2015 @ 5:58am
I never used budget control anymore since IPT came out.
