I recently moved to Denver, but yes. 275 and I4 are disasters - like Cities Skyline traffic level disasters. Sorry I just saw this!

I actually got the mangroves but didn't see the other assets- Thanks!

Great to hear! I lived in Pinellas for a long time, although long ago. I made a Tarpon Springs map with native trees that Mr Maison made for us Gulf Coast city builders ;) Mangrove Beach is vanilla, so check out the Gulf Coast trees he made. Just like in my old back yard! :D https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=928060685
Did they ever fix the 275 / I 4 or is it still a giant mess to drive through? :steammocking:

Thanks! I live in Tampa and this is a neat interpretation on the area! Love the barrier beaches and inter-coastal system!

Ah yes. I've had that one but very long ago. It is a mod problem, it was another mod which clashed with Random Tree Rotation mod. You have to go to RTR mod's page to find the answer; read through the comments there for the answer. Also search Random Tree Rotation mod flickering and you will get a ton of hits.

Its not that they disappear, its more like a flickering depending on the direction the camera is pointing at
MrMiyagi  [author] 11 Aug, 2019 @ 3:00am
Hi, that's definitely a mod issue. I forget which one, but I do know two really great sources where you can go to get help on how to fix it and which mod it might be.

Just fyi, it's impossible for a map to cause such a thing. Think of a map as a blueprint. When you start the game, it just records the locations, terrain, etc in the map, and then the map is no longer affecting your save game at all.
Hope you get it fixed

With "random tree rotation" activated, trees and highways disappear in this map.
Cosmibun 9 Sep, 2017 @ 4:30pm
now it just needs to be underwater
Deltonus 19 Aug, 2017 @ 4:45pm
I tried disableing every mod that i had.
The issue is still here, though less aparent

I looked and the maker of the spectra sirese would be bullettMAGNETT
Deltonus 19 Aug, 2017 @ 4:22pm
I dont know of any mods i have installed right now that affect water, however. So i tend to doubt thats the case.
Deltonus 19 Aug, 2017 @ 4:21pm
I used to have the tsunami mod until i got natural disasters DLC.
I've recently removed all of my mods, but then installed ALL the mods made by Quad or in the Spectra sireise. Both of which are simply assetts.
MrMiyagi  [author] 19 Aug, 2017 @ 12:58pm
What in blazes is that?? Holy cow, that's weird. To eliminate the first possibility, it's certainly not anything included in a map. Next, I don't know much about it but I have recently seen lots of screenshots of assets and mods doing really whacky things like making trees float to heaven in a botanical rapture (it's really hilarious) and making insane things happen with the landscape. This is the first I've seen with water. Given what I've seen so far, it wouldn't surprise me if there's a mod or asset behind this. So if you are on Facebook, I would recommend joining Skylines Nation group and asking for some advice. I use very few mods and don't know much about what causes weird things like that, but you'll find helpers there who do. Hope that gets you closer to a solution
Deltonus 19 Aug, 2017 @ 8:56am
Its not rocks. Its legit flat land with just water square-spikes on it.
I'll see if i can find a link to a screenshot...
MrMiyagi  [author] 19 Aug, 2017 @ 4:27am
Oh yes, it's unfortunately not a bug, but a "feature" of how the game handles the simulation of water. I don't think they had ever planned to see rocks in waterfalls, either, so it didn't show up on their radar to begin with. I'm sure as computers advance, game devs will be able to bring up the water realism another notch. What happens is that when you put something like a rock or other object that is able to block or move water around causes an odd triangular shape to pop up with really sharp edges. When you place the rocks, you can move them around or delete and try a smaller rock until you find a position where the waterfall doesn't make that awful shape. Sometimes you have to just leave a rock out of that place.
Deltonus 18 Aug, 2017 @ 8:46pm
I was looking for a fix to a water bug and i cant find it. Anyways the water bug im refering to is water spikes. I've been making a tropical island chain, and theres weird spikes of water that destroy the functionality of the waterfalls and make some of the islands more-or-less unuseable.

However if you know how to fix this then please tell me.
MrMiyagi  [author] 31 May, 2017 @ 5:01am
Still, this old map does have an issue with shipping lanes, and is not as nice as this new one which is inspired by Mangrove Beach. Check it out! https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=928063499
botFlock 30 May, 2017 @ 7:49am
This map is better, now that there's actual monorails.
v31088an 28 Jun, 2016 @ 8:43am
MrMiyagi, yes it is. I guess it must be a problem with custom themes then. Thanks a lot for your kind reply :)
MrMiyagi  [author] 28 Jun, 2016 @ 3:22am
v31088an, is "Just Tropical" a theme name? If so, I've also had problems sometimes in trying to use custom themes. This map is regular tropical theme, made before themes even existed, so theoretically it should be able to be used with custom tropical themes, too. That being said, there's lots of odd things going on with themes lately
v31088an 27 Jun, 2016 @ 1:26pm
Tried using the Just Tropical map theme on this map and it doesn't work. Anybody can help me find out why? Is it some fault with the map theme?
Leamsi 31 May, 2016 @ 12:57pm
haha i live here in real life how cool
MrMiyagi  [author] 23 May, 2016 @ 2:51pm
YES!!! Awesome! Thank you for letting me know your process, it will save me I'm sure in the future :)
NinasaSwan 23 May, 2016 @ 2:05pm
MrM, I solved it the old school way. I unsubbed a lot of trees I usually don't use (should have done that anyway). Unsubbed all palm trees, resubbed them, went to Content Mgr. and made sure they were all "on". Voila! The map is back in all its Miyagi glory. Thanks for putting me on the right track and responding so quickly. Really appreciate it.
MrMiyagi  [author] 22 May, 2016 @ 12:30pm
Thanks NinasaSwan! Katalyst came out with the update to his mod that fixes this where any trees are concerned. Hope this helps! :) I put the instructions on Marco Island and up top here too. You can use the mod, use it to fix it to start the game, and then unsubscribe after saving your game just once. Should do the trick!
NinasaSwan 22 May, 2016 @ 12:21pm
Thanks MrM, will give the tree thing a try. PLEASE make more! You're one of the best.
MrMiyagi  [author] 21 May, 2016 @ 4:11pm
Oh! The disappeared palm trees - that's your clue that you have disabled or unsubscribed to one of the trees required in this map. If you can figure out which it was, that should solve it.
MrMiyagi  [author] 21 May, 2016 @ 4:10pm
Oh god not this map too XD Darn. There is an issue happening for many map makers and users of workshop maps. Lucky for us, Katalyst has been working on a neat fix for us all, added into an existing mod. I've tried it out and it does fix the problem for me..., but it's still in beta. So for now, try adding all four of the robusta palms (Tall, short, tall trim and short trim) and making sure all are active. That might not work, but it doesn't hurt trying, because it's the root cause of the problem. If all else fails, we will just have to wait for Katalyst to make the update to his Unlimited Trees mod.
If you haven't seen it, I made another Florida map that is the same sort of spirit of this one, only it's made a lot better :) It does have required trees, too, but it seems people have less problems with it. From now on, all my maps will have vanilla trees only... if I make any more :( https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=650653612&searchtext=marco
NinasaSwan 21 May, 2016 @ 3:43pm
Hi Mr. M, First I'd like to thank you for your beautiful work and appreciate how much time it must take to create it. My favorite map by far is your Mangrove Beach. I've used it several times. Suddenly, without adding or changing any Mods, when I load the map for a brand new game, the water area is sand. I've loaded it 3 times and every time I get sand instead of water. I unsubscribed and re-subscribed and got the same result. I have one saved game which works fine, except some palm trees have vanished. I hope you can point me in the right direction with this.

Hey there deepgame123, if you're still around, I followed your good advice and included your wish in my new map. It has a lot less ships running around, and is a tropical beach map. Maybe you'lll like! Thanks again for the idea! https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=481712572
MrMiyagi  [author] 14 Jul, 2015 @ 7:57am
*Open my map in the map editor (from main menu: tools, map editor, load.... then pick Mangrove Beach). When it opens, click on the road button on bottom, then the ship tab. Now you will see all the shipping lines I ran in yellow. Delete some shipping lines you won't use in game (but not the four links to the edge of the map), then save the map as a different name. Make sure the shipping lines you want still enter the central squares where you want for your harbor. You should have your own custom version of the map!
If this is a bit much then you will probably like my map coming next, so follow me if you want :) But I think by going exploring using these directions, you might find a whole new world of fun in making maps of your own! This game is great!
MrMiyagi  [author] 14 Jul, 2015 @ 7:52am
Hi deepgame123. This definitely came into mind when finishing up the map. I would like to fix the ships because they're frankly really annoying to me too, but I can't while also keeping the map as free for you to design as possible. Lemme explain, and I can help you change this and make your own custom version of this map with less ships:
I could have restricted which squares everyone's allowed to put a harbor on, but that would mean that you could only place a harbor where I have told you to As you see, this map has SO much coastline. I went for the freedom option (lol), and ran shipping lines along many (but not all) shores so the choice is yours, not mine. Unfortunately this means that ships appear all over the darned place. My next map is another beach and islands, so I think I will find a way to reduce these shipping lines. Looks awful to me too. Solution next comment
AltaicNomad 13 Jul, 2015 @ 12:19pm
man that is a fantastic map. but can you fix ships because there are too many and they always crash each other
Lil Wongi 22 Jun, 2015 @ 3:40pm
Finally a decent beach map in a tropical setting! Would like to see more beach and tropical themed maps.
MrMiyagi  [author] 18 Jun, 2015 @ 5:03am
:D Okay, never want to assume... They are fantastic! I am learning quite a bit looking at your city setup. My street organization looks like someone from (chaotic unplanned urban mess) New Jersey tried to take on urban planning. Oh wait a minute, I think I just discovered the problem :D
Mechalic 18 Jun, 2015 @ 4:28am
Haha I know how to do all that, just wasnt sure if you wanted me to email them or sumthin, all good ill post links soon.
MrMiyagi  [author] 18 Jun, 2015 @ 4:21am
Ingame, press F12 (hold Function and also a key way up on the top right that is labeled F12). It will take a screenshot and will be over in your CS Steam main page. Now go back to your main page for CS, scroll down, just past workshop... there you will see Screenshots. Click on the bottom, a popup will open and for each screenshot you want to share, you will select "upload". Then "see image on web" button will open it up inside Steam for you. You can right click it, "copy URL", and you can paste that URL right here or in a new discussion that I will start now.
Mechalic 18 Jun, 2015 @ 4:12am
Absolutely, how do i share them to you"
MrMiyagi  [author] 18 Jun, 2015 @ 1:24am
Hey that's really great to hear, Mechalic! Makes the work put into it worth it! Share some screenshots if you have time, it'd be great to see how different people developed the map.
Mechalic 18 Jun, 2015 @ 12:56am
I love this map, I have have spent the past week building my biggest city ever on this map, thanks man!
MrMiyagi  [author] 15 Jun, 2015 @ 10:26am
:D Well yes, that's actually a good idea. I think the Space Coast has a nice larger barrier island (right?). Then we'd need someone to make a giant space launcher site :D

Thanks Kitman!
Lucid 15 Jun, 2015 @ 9:19am
The Lakes of Central Florida sounds like a great place to build! Although I would reccomend the Daytona Beach area. (Just because I live there. So don't take the reccomendation seriously. :3)
Peperry 14 Jun, 2015 @ 9:26am
it looks great!
MrMiyagi  [author] 13 Jun, 2015 @ 3:00pm
Great! I'm glad you like it, I also had fun wiith it because it freed me to focus more just on the city aspects and not conforming to any terrain elevation changes.

Where else could we go? I imagine the lakes of Central Florida would be nice.

Cool name, Cloudy lol
Lucid 13 Jun, 2015 @ 2:05pm
More Florida maps! :D
I love this map!
MrMiyagi  [author] 12 Jun, 2015 @ 2:25am
Thanks marc.steiner!

really goog map ... i'm like it !!!!
MrMiyagi  [author] 11 Jun, 2015 @ 2:24pm
You can also use "frontage roads". They have lots of them in NJ... not sure about other places. In the image of my intersection, the frontage road is the one way, two lane grass edged road. It runs the same direction as the highway, and they can be helpful in funneling traffic too Two lane roads never have stoplights in the game... another good hint :) https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=458720053
