DCMI but without traffic lights, nice

I can't find this in my list of asseets. It shows up in Skyve and has a green check, but it does not appear in the ingame list of assets.

Efficient & COMPACT, just what I was looking for. Very nice design!

Looks cool!

amazing

I use this when I’m trying to connect the different use zones and it never breaks, it is the best asset in the intersection workshop by miles. Use Traffic Manager to get the best out of it and it then handles very levels heavy traffic

This has been my favourite interchange for at least 3 years. Thank you.
Gared 15 Dec, 2021 @ 4:54am
Thank you for your hard work
Cass 5 Jun, 2021 @ 9:51pm
the answer to my friggin prayers, no more backups
MatteCosta 14 Feb, 2021 @ 8:57am
@BirdTheNomad delete the existing highway and have it so it have alot of space then afterwards you can the highway back! make sure you have to roads the right way, hope it helps sorry for late

Thank you! great work, very good!
Sparktite 31 Jan, 2021 @ 6:41pm
@kryzeth not sure if im doing this right lol.
So the underpass is the main highway and the over stuff is just leading out to the neighbor hoods downtown etc? Okay then ill know how to use this. Thanks a bunch!
Kryzeth 30 Jan, 2021 @ 8:42pm
@Sparktite, my comment below should hopefully shed some light on how to use this interchange.

"So in the first image, the top and bottom are highway paths, that simply pass through, underneath the entire contraption, so the flow of the highway isn't interrupted.

People can turn off the highway, and onto the right, then either loop around to go left, or continue going to the right. So the left-right lanes that curve aboveground, are actually the entrances/exits to the regular streetways, which you just have to merge manually."

The reason this is so useful, is because of how difficult it is to get free flowing traffic from the highway directly into the streetways. If you place the highway running directly through the center of the city (as a backbone), then have these interchanges placed every few places, for traffic to get off where it needs, quickly and simply, without disrupting the flow of left-right traffic (which would happen if you connected them directly with highway ramps)

I dont understand how to use this at all. Read through a guide that links to this interchange but i dont understand how this works even in the slightest. It looks like its meant for separate sets of highways intersecting. Not like its meant to have zonable streets hooked up anywhere. I even saw the example screenshot thats in the comments thats supposed to show how to hook it up. But im still very confused. Whats the point of making zonable streets turn into highways so they can pass under other highways. Wouldnt it make more sense to just keep it as normal streets under the highway?

This is by far, the best DCMI exchange which is compact and efficient.
Mimc 19 Jan, 2020 @ 6:56am
Thanks I was looking for something compact enough for my islands.
BirdTheNomad 29 Oct, 2019 @ 8:51am
How do you connect this to anything?
Azraellis 14 Jan, 2019 @ 5:03am
Thank you. SO very useful.:cozyrealmroyale:
Kryzeth 16 Dec, 2018 @ 1:35pm
OHHHH okay, I understand this now. Thanks, all. So in the first image, the top and bottom are highway paths, that simply pass through, undearneath the entire contraption, so the flow of the highway isn't interrupted.

People can turn off the highway, and onto the right, then either loop around to go left, or continue going to the right. So the left-right lanes that curve aboveground, are actually the entrances/exits to the regular streetways, which you just have to merge manually.

Knowing how this works makes me enjoy this very much; definitely gonna start using this for my next playthrough.

Am using this where a LOT of truck traffic and residents intersect the highway from a 6 lane road and it is working well. I did make some areas 4 lane so as to have a turn lane only and prevent the slowing that was beginning to occur in those areas. Thanks!
sgall23241 17 Sep, 2018 @ 2:25pm
Looks great! Thanks!
milopupu 13 Jun, 2018 @ 3:01am
I consider myself cheating when using this dcmi
darthvader1219 7 Jun, 2018 @ 1:42am
It is in fact designed to connect a highway and zoneable streets. You connect the highway to both sides of the underground part, the whole point being that it doesn't interrupt flow on the highway. The crossing lanes on either side connect to highway exits. From there you can connect them to whatever you want. If you want to connect it to a two-way road simply converge the exits together to a single point and connect the two-way road at that point. Here's a screenshot illustrating this. This really is a very pretty and functional piece of roadwork.
SparkHawk 29 May, 2018 @ 6:31pm
@Kryzeth both sides are highways, is a interchange betwen highways so there is no zonables
Vinnie32 5 Mar, 2018 @ 7:02am

Kryzeth 20 Feb, 2018 @ 9:24pm
I like how the people who know how to use this interchange don't answer the questions of anyone else trying to learn how to use this thing. I also don't understand where the zonable streets go. I'm assuming one of the sides is the highway entrance, and the other three lead out to different streets? But maybe not, because that doesn't fix the problem of 2 one-way roads becoming a single two-way road -.-
ssgteverett 3 Feb, 2018 @ 1:32pm
Nicely done - Using two right now. Thnx
Texugo 24 Dec, 2017 @ 10:55am
Beautiful, amazing, works neatly
Rooster 28 Jul, 2017 @ 1:36am
Couldn't connect it to motorway roads
rk 9 Jul, 2017 @ 8:29pm
This looks AWESOME! I have a question - any chance you could reach out to me at rkagerersteam@trashmail.com? (That forwards to my real email address, which I don't want to post here for privacy reasons)
edward.varner 22 May, 2017 @ 1:14pm
I have yet to find or build an intersection which can deal with this much traffic! I love the way it looks and how it works. I used it as an interchange between 2 busy highways with 1 leg feeding my entire 15k Cims no problem. THANKS!!! I did upgrade the singles lanes into doubles and it helped increased the flow from the "main" highway to the L turn onto the secondary highway. :steamhappy:
a6x 26 Mar, 2017 @ 1:59pm
holy shit i used to have a big ass clogged highway and now its all moving thx a lottttttttttttttttt
Guagno333 5 Sep, 2016 @ 5:57am
Very nice interchange! I have a noob questio however... I'm still at the beginning using interchanges, and I didn't get one thing. You said that this is a service interchange, so If I understand correctly it should connect highways to non-highways, right? But looking at it, it seems that the 4 access are all highways, so how I can connect, for example, a 6 lane road?

Thanks in advance :)
UNABOMBER 12 Jun, 2016 @ 10:30am
@zombievee
I've experienced the same problem and I found a workaround. After using the bulldozer on the troublesome connection points (as she said, JUST THE TIP), roads would snap right in.
zombievee 9 Jun, 2016 @ 8:31am
Having 'space already occupied' problems with extending the underpass highway where it enters both sides (though it works on the exits). Am I doing something wrong with the roads?
PhoMai 1 Jan, 2016 @ 7:30am
Like poetry in asphalt/concrete form, well done.
Boogieman 1 Dec, 2015 @ 8:51am
nice work but there is no opportunity given to turn around like in a clover leaf interchange. Could you make a compact one with U-turns included?
SanteSince88 15 Nov, 2015 @ 8:44am
beautiful work
Harvey 3 Oct, 2015 @ 11:24am
How does the exit from the fast lane reconcile with the games traffic AI? Looks very pretty though!
derFuchsi 1 Oct, 2015 @ 2:17am
Veery nice one !
the_possum 14 Jul, 2015 @ 1:55am
Aboslutely amazing! :) But I get confused when you say "This one is designed as a service interchange, with 4 access ramps, with the crossing lanes meant to be connected to surface streets and the major highway passing underneath the interchange." could someone clarify?
rik 11 Jul, 2015 @ 6:10pm
Really good interchange, thanks for the asset. :KSmiley:
