Or maby 1 grass or just 1 pinecone ye =D
We have all our own notion of challenge, of fun, of difficulty. A lot of mod make things easiers, and for me, sometime, too easier. I want a mod that will allow you to have more possibilies, but being close of the "standart" difficulty of the game.
PancakeZ : Yes, it's expensive, but gears are usefull, so i want to keep a balance.
And there are other, more easy, and popular mod, and it's fine. It allow people to take the mod they find the more appropriate for their servers, the more balanced to their taste. I like it.
If i keep this mod "difficult", it's also because there is easier options, so i don't want this mod to be like a copy of the easier mods. I want it to give an option.
The steel wool is already a very hard to obtain resource, being that it only comes from the ewecus, which on top of being a very difficult beast to kill, also only appears on rare occasions. I don't feel the gem as an extra cost is really needed. That's just my 2 cents.
With gears, every map spawns with at least a single clockwork, so I know that if I just look hard enough I'll find them. That or I'll find the desert, at that point I'l be collecting tumbleweeds as the sticks and grass provide the normally required resources for getting most things running.
You could use this recipe and the tumbleweeds search, so i don't want the recipe to be too easy.
Some will prefer just search for tumbleweed. You could do both. And if you don't search in tumbleweed (base too far of it for example), you could have a way to obtain gears sometimes.
The gem part is here to give a cost (because the steel wool have no use, and the doodad isn't really a high price). You could prefer use it for other purpose : some people will prefer a new flingomatic to expand their base rather than use gems.
But in late game, when you have no more grave to dig and no more chesspiece to kill, this become an alternative to randomness of tumbleweed.
Also, there isn't, for the moment, use for the Steel Wool.
Bonder : The "configure" option should answer your request. Thank for the idea.
Let me know if anything doesn't work as intended.
Anyway, cool idea
