I have one request to the author - could you make a similar assembler? Maybe a bit smaller (3x3x3) without the small ports on the sides? But it would be OK if it is the same size as long as it keeps the same parameters reagrding speed and power consumption as the refinery.
the bug you speak of is the new refinery bug in the latest game update affecting every single refinery or block that uses refinery functionality.
If you dont want to loose graphical quality then just live with the silver blob or dont use it. If i was you i would just hide it inside some armor or behind a wall, personally i still play in DX9 and i have these under the floor above bottom hull (hidden) since i made these refineries for the purpose of having a small on the go refinery on my Mining support vessel and i also made those single port modules to go with it.
