This ain't Star Trek son, goodness. I love Star Trek and all, but I have to say that the two are totally different. But I would like to see a similar effect on some weps.

oh right totally forgot to ask, do you know how to add a black lightning style effect to wrap around the beams? i want my Red Ions to look like startrek onlines Anti Proton beams. i love the black and red gothic death look =P

Harb, you ever see a SturnTiger? notice all those little holes around the front of the barrel? they for the Rocket exhause to exit, so it doesnt make the shell explode while its being fired out of the barrel. thats an example of stuff being ejected out of the same port =P

*sorry, just felt like being THAT GUY for abit* lol

The vent in the top of the hiigaran ion frigate is much more sensible

Yes, I get that it's coolant, but it should NOT be ejected out of the same port as the weapon beam, as that would decrease the weapon's effectiveness. IIRC HW2 got it right with the Ion Frigates and where they emitted their steam from.

As templelord says, it's liquid coolant. You can't really get rid of heat in space quick enough for high energy weapon systems any other way, so without that "smoke" your guns would be useless slag after the first shot...
templerlord 5 Oct, 2015 @ 11:35pm
the smoke is vaporized cooling liquid, so actually it's more sensible with the smoke. But this is cool style too.
