Now, regarding the map itself, a 4-way crossroad is much to be desired. It would give more space, thereby allowing the creation for more structures; however, what the town needs is a social gathering area and more public service facilities. A clinic, school, pub, and city hall would make this town complete.
and with 2 gas stations scattered on the road
and also a big tree somewhere in the map like something you'd see in a movie
and to make it not so bland
scatter some stuff around the map
BUT WHAT EVER YOU DO
DO NOT
SPOIL THE MAP BY JUST SLAPPING TREES EVERYWHERE AND CALL IT A "FOREST"
thats what usually makes maps like this a pain to play and ruin they ruin the atmosphere
now im not saying you should trash any signs of life in this map
just put some small trees here and there on the side of the road
not too close and not too cluttered
and also some night snow sunrise foggy zombie apocalypse variants would be cool
small is decent
keep making more maps
