they should check the workshop more often tho
Atleast I have made some input. :)
I have an idea though. Now, I know all these weapon reskins are just that, weapon skins. But wouldn't it be cool if some weapon reskins, like this polehammer skin, also came with additional piercing damage, for example, because of the spike on the head of this polehammer?
I know, that is alittle far fetced. It wouldn't have to be anything significant. It would change play style somewhat, and to even it out, it could be less piercing damage than every other spear types.
Stuff like that would be alittle exciting. But I am sure it could also be a very bad idea, and would take alot of time to implement I suppose. I am sure I am leaving some details out, forgetting suff that makes it, at the moment, a bad idea to follow this trend. Just throwing some ideas out.
@slowreflex When it comes to the workshop here on Chivalry its different compared to Skyrim for example. In here, the items you vote and favorite are up for desicion by the makers of the game Torn Banner. If they are chosen and added to the game, then they are sold in game as cosmetics items you can buy to look different in game. They have however no impact on gameplay.
Again, your design looks great. I wanted to say that before I commented on it again - cause I wouldn't know where to begin trying to make a skin like this myself. The kind of "knob" that I think would look best on something like this, and still be clear to the user what kind of damage they're doing, would be the short tip on the hammer in the rightmost of this image:

Then again though, it wouldn't be as flashy as what you have here either. Only talking about that knobbed hammer head though, the short one, in place of the "suction cup"-esque bit on the main end.

As you can see this Polehammer has a pointed side, but when I saw the point it looked like pierce damage,so I took the point away and slightly enlarged the hammerhead to make the focus the hammerhead. And while a pointed hammerhead may be more damaging, the flat one seemed cooler and more visually cooler. So I took the idea and ran with it. So while I always try to make something authentic looking, sometimes the idea overtakes function.
So in the end your critique is right. Anytime I design any weapon I have a central idea in mind and sometimes it means it can take away fr the function, for the sake of visuals. Next weapon il try to keep function more in mind.
Granted, this is a minor nitpicky kind of thing. Like I said, I enjoy it's appearance overall.
@Captain thank you. It may seem a bit too large but in first person with perspective it shrinks a bit and works IMO. Who knows,TB might tell me to scale it. :)
