I'm not sure why you are posting this here, but I'll reply. You have had the only siege server up for over a month. I know you were banned from the workshop about a month ago for exposing children to pornography in your maps, and I'm not sure what your new ban is from, but perhaps you should ask your friend Archie to assist you with maintenance until you have your internet fixed. Instead of being fixated on what others are doing - focus on your own project.

what you guys dont understand is why i insist "im the only one who runs siege" in that it requires so much maintanance. For example now that im without internet and once again banned from workshop for 11 days... Siege is dead, because every single day i had to maintain it and do things no other server operator can provide.

Yes Wooza - By all means, you can use the map, but you cannot copy it, edit it, or change it. But you should wait for the finished version. It's coming! :) It's just taking awhile as it's quite a bit of work, and the DMD mapping team currently have four maps on the go.

@wooza you are free to use every mod available on the workshop, I never said you could not.
You do not need permission for this.

What you need permission for is taking that mod author's work and renaming it as your own and publishing it. Rusty's request for permission was for it to "not be copied" .. which is different from "not be used".

Feel free to contact me for any further questions

When i read the Steam subscriber agreement it says everyone is free to use every mod available on the workshop, now i am irritated. I want to run the map on my testbox but without always asking the author when i add a map. Something that i did not understand about Kyle that he insist running his mod only servers he could have control on.

The Origin name is not owned by him, but his *original* work is.
I guess you didn't understand that part. If you need further clarification you can contact me.

Oh and moderating the workshop IS part of where my nose belongs, if you did not know.
So please follow the Steam Workshop Subscriber agreement properly by respecting user created content which includes following said permissions of original work.

P.s - I don't care who you are ironhorse, if you're on the CDT or not. I've read only the start of the statement. My mind can't even wrap around itself to read the full statement and get itself caught in the trap that is your thoughts which are completely out of tune in every aspect.

Hey IronHorse,

It's as simple as hypocracy. Stating origin is under his ownership is like saying he came up with the design.

In light, I do not understand. I did not ask you. I am speaking to rusty, not his army.

So thanks for putting your nose where it doesn't belong.

@kyle abent

A) Siege is not entirely under your ownership, as it belongs to multiple authors who verbally intended free and open use of it. Even so, It has been forked and all of your code and UWE code has been removed (3,500 lines of code) and is now an original project free to use for all once again, as originally intended by said authors.

B) Permissions for workshop uploads *will* be upheld per the Subscriber Agreement of Steam Workshop content. You are free to use this mod, but not copy it / rename as your own, per the author. If you wish to make this map from scratch, much like how your code has been removed from Siege, by all means compete for the same name.

Thank you for your understanding

How can you ask for this not be copied without permission if you can be hypocritical and copy siege without permission?
