Would love to see her sista from Strasbourg (same architect: Ulrich von Ensingen ;) ), which used to be the highest before Ulm.

NEVER never never call it a "Dom". Its a protestant citicens church.

BTW: Nice work! Love my Hometown and the Münster :)

Yes! Great! Now it's perfect! Thank you

@weltle.robert: I would really welcome that. Though it's really not easy to take photos for textures. I don't know how good you are with cameras, but if the quality isn't that good I will honestly not use them ;). They would have to be flat, with little to no shadows and natural colors (so cloudy weather some time around midday). Especially when it comes to the top of the tower it's getting difficult. For that you would need an elevated position so you can get it right.
In case you feel like you could do that, I would be really happy to get some good textures :) Add me as friend

Hey Alex,

i work in Ulm. ;) Maybe, if you want, i could take foto's for you of the parts you need for your textures. :)

I think it's prety nice. :)
YpsilonEule  [author] 24 Mar, 2016 @ 7:28am
update: scaled down to 68 %, should be realistic now. Improved nightlights and diffuse textures. Also I improved the LOD significantly, but thus also increased lod tris to 872. (I won't get back to 200 again, sorry)
YpsilonEule  [author] 3 Mar, 2016 @ 11:50am
@mizrael77, you seem right there. I can't remember where I screwed that up, since I had the right scales in 3ds max. Probably happened at the scale factor in the asset editor. So sorry to all mentioning that. Sorry
mizrael77 3 Mar, 2016 @ 4:18am
No, it is NOT the right size... 26 tiles = 208m long, and if the ruler mod is correct, 240m high. Instead of 140 and 160m as stated. 208/140=240/161=1,48. So it seems to be upscaled by a factor of 1,48. It is a pity since if it really were 160m high as stated, it would still be imposing without being excessive (It'd be as high as CO's "cathedral of plentitude"). But it is not. I don't understand how you can state that it is the same saze as the real building... etiher all other buildings in the workshop with a stated height are "wrong", either it is this one which is wrong...
theqentity 30 Jan, 2016 @ 10:27am
but maybe it's just perspective being an a-hole lol
theqentity 30 Jan, 2016 @ 10:26am
Ok, it's pretty much the right size (impressive building) but comparing your simillar shot above to this one ( http://s2.germany.travel/media/content/gut_zu_wissen_1/bundeslaender/baden_wuerttemberg/Ulm_mit_Muenster_1024x768.jpg) it seems the rear spires are about 30% too tall, and the main spire/tower is about 10-20% to tall (when compared to the height of the roof (which seems to be close to actual when compared to the width, and the width seems to be about right, and the building in RL surroudning the church are lower in height which means the CS taller buidlings are roughly the right height up against the churhc. The only thing is, it seems a bit too tall.

But, still, I'm being fussy. It's a great piece opf work! Was hard to believe it was the right size! Is a damn chunky Church!
YpsilonEule  [author] 27 Jan, 2016 @ 8:08am
no problem ;)
George Abitbol - Bac+2 26 Jan, 2016 @ 10:15am
Ok I'm sorry for that... Pardon me ^^ I understand I was wrong for the size ^^ About textures I guess you did your best. Thanks
YpsilonEule  [author] 4 Jan, 2016 @ 10:39am
@Aktarus. If you find me better textures, yeah. I searched for about 2 hours, but there are none. It's already 2048x2048.

The size of the building is the size in real life.
George Abitbol - Bac+2 4 Jan, 2016 @ 8:41am
So ugly textures and too big !! (???). A version with 2048*2048 textures and a normal size would be great.
markusliegl 16 Oct, 2015 @ 3:13am
Cool, cant wait for the AD update!
YpsilonEule  [author] 26 Sep, 2015 @ 8:47am
Yeah, currently working on it.
Sakujo 24 Sep, 2015 @ 9:26am
Can you update it and add some lights for the night? Thanks :)
YpsilonEule  [author] 19 Sep, 2015 @ 8:19am
just a reference to the MVP Ulm

What's with the EUIV design in the picture? :D
Churchbuilder 10 Sep, 2015 @ 12:58pm
Entlich mal jemand, der so einen tollen Dom im richtigen Größenverhältnis nachbaut. Super! Vielen Dank!
ez1 1 Sep, 2015 @ 1:00pm
Thanks for the quick reply, and I do hope that you do post a reduced version, though I know it takes more work to do so. A third smaller would still make it very imposing--it should still dominate the skyline. You do terrific work and this is a great model.
YpsilonEule  [author] 1 Sep, 2015 @ 12:49pm
@eaz001 I might find time for doing that
ez1 1 Sep, 2015 @ 12:46pm
I think this is a beautiful model and I know it is an enormous cathedral, as I have been inside it myself, but it is far too big for the scale of CS, where even the largest modern offices grow on a 4x4 footprint. In fact, it is overwhelming, which is a true shame as it makes this wonderful building unusable.

Can you post a reduced-scale version, as so many other authors have done? I'd love to use this in all my cities, but the current model is just too big.

Thank you for the great work!
Markus 22 Jul, 2015 @ 12:30pm
Da ich am Mo erst davor stand, kann ich euch auch bestätigen, dass die Größe schon hinkommt :) Sehr schön, ob ich sie benutze muss sich noch zeigen, wenn die Städte mal etwas größer als 100k werden.
Skimbo 20 Jul, 2015 @ 9:25am
Das Ding macht echt was her! Weiter so!
SupermarioPS 20 Jul, 2015 @ 8:34am
The cathedral is indeed that "oversized" in real-life:
http://flairon.de/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/Ulm.jpg
Doesn't seem to fit in to the surrounding at all.
