Could you check to see if the dynamic colored mapmodes mod works? If that one's working, then fixing this one is easy. If both mods are broken, I probably need to rewrite them from scratch, which I don't know if I'm willing to do again.

There is not a transparent mod for EU4 currently working/up to date, could you make yours the one? I really want to play being able to see the nice terrain while in political map mode. I tried editing the line you pointed out in another updated map mod but it didn't work

@reddbane lol I once made a documented version, but i had to rewrite it twice since then and none of the old comments survived.

The file is now a lot more complicated because to avoid code reuse, they threw ifdefs everywhere to screw up the code flow.

Do you happen to know if there is modder resource that explains what all the elements in pdxmap does? Just altering terrain and map color intensity, I'm running into a problem where preserving the map color quality can cause the map of certain nations to become blindingly bright or making text difficult to read (most often with yellow nations). Is there a way to alter the colored overlay map luminosity/shininess ?

I just have to experiment with the correct landscape to map color brightness ratio, to discover which best represents the original RGB codes (and thus make new map recolor modes easier to make) and still allows the player a hint at what landscape lies beneath. For the longest time my personal choice was 0.25 land to .5 map color, but I'm going keep tweaking it until I'm sure what works best.

I suffer from RG color blindness, so I wanted to ask you if I can use your coding work to make a Transparent map with Brighter more Vibrant Map colors, as most versions of Transparent Map modes cause some problems for the color blind as pale colors and Green texture bleed-through makes it harder to tell certain colors apart. I want to publish this for other color blind users (I've already created a Religious map mode for the color blind), but I don't want to take your work, or whoever else might have wrote the original code, without asking first. I will of course credit you in the mod and add a link to the original.

This mod is only one text file (a shader), and fixing it was just a cut and paste job. My pride and joy mod is the HoI4 dynamic colored mapmodes mod that I made (it's similar to this one (again, only one file), but a little more complicated (and way cooler)). You should try it!

After a reinstall of the game all the mods that have actually been updated redownloaded and everything is fine now. And I thought updatinng eu4 mods takes like ages... anyways thanks for writing back, keep up the good work !

Binch, there was a bug in 1.14.0 that stripped the supported_version string out of the .mod file. I did update it yesterday though after 1.14.2 came out so that the supported_version string matches again, but maybe your subscription didn't auto-update properly. It definitely works though.
