Installing non-workshop content isn't that difficult and it doesn't take up any extra space, so I don't really consider it a huge loss that not all of my stuff is on the workshop.
I've been told that there's a total filesize limit for individual workshops, so it is possible to hit a limit and not be able to upload any more content. Whilst I'm not hugely concerned about hitting that limit (if it exists), I'd rather save my workshop space for new content. Especially when the older content is in no danger of disappearing and is still perfectly accessible.
Like me, they have the same problem with the Mediafire downloads. The vehicle models are good but takes up too much space. Heck, I even read from a Facepunch thread that this guy wants to import the vehciles himself into workshop because their Mediafire download is a pain the ass.
If I were you, I'd upload one vehicle/variant at time, to workshop. Like I have a pack just for M35 trucks and variants. I talked about it with a guy on Facepunch earlier and he said its effective and doesn't screw anything up.
I'm never going to play either of them, but RS2 and RO in general seem to try to be more realistic and serious, aimed at a niche audience who like that sort of stuff. BF1, on the other hand is just mainstream garbage aimed at the same audience who played the last four games, just BF4 with some new models and maps.
I had planned to upload the BO vehicles pack to the workshop when I'd released it, but it wasn't untill after I'd made that thread that I realized it really wasn't going to happen.
Performance issues you might be having have absolutely nothing to do with where you're getting your models from. The only difference is that models from workshop addons are easier to find if you don't know how to use the browse function on the spawn menu.
I've seen the Rising Storm 2 trailers, looks sexy but needs a bit of work. Though its not considered "glamourus" as compared to Battlefield 1, its delivers. And yes I was asking about the COD: Black ops vehicle pack.
Reason I asked is because in the FacePunch thread, it said "Steam Workshop - COMING EVENTUALLY, I just have to split the packs up a bit." The reason I want to download it in Steam workshop is because I downloaded a TON of crap from Mediafire and it slows down my computer drastically and causes a bunch of problems. Steam workshop however, has much better protection.
But still, your vehicle models are top notch. Highly detailed and looks VERY realistic.
I was working on one, but the quality of the model wasn't great and I shelved it for a while to work on other stuff. I've been considering just waiting for Rising Storm 2 to come out and porting the one I've seen in the trailers.
I don't get what you mean by that last sentence. If you're asking when the Black Ops vehicles pack is going on the workshop, it's not. It's too big and I'm not splitting it up.
Greatly appreaciate!
