Hey guys, I'm so sorry to do this to you, but I need to work on my future for concern of not having one if I'm not careful. Please check out the video added to the description discussing me going on hiatus from modding Space Engineers.

I think it should take normal gatling ammo. It's really old and needs an update though. I'd be surprised if it still works.

The gatling gun will build but it takes no ammo. it should take regular gatling turret ammo right?

Thanks for the report. I'll try to get the fix out. I don't think it'll make it to the master pack though unfortunately.

The "Small Gatling Turret 1" small grid variant does not build.
To fix you need:
replace "<Definition>" with "<Definition xsi:type="MyObjectBuilder_LargeTurretBaseDefinition">"
add "<WeaponDefinitionId Subtype="SmallGatlingTurret" />"

The same issue in in: 297308479 'Shaostoul - Master Pack'

I think an update in December broke all weapon mods. I don't think it'll be working now but, you can give it a shot and let me know. I can't check yet.

Bummer, must've broke. I'm talking with people about doing an updated and more vast mod for more military stuff but, it'll be a bit.

If you feel up to it, you can locate the 491329457.sbm in your mods folder and delete it and redownload the mod. It might've corrupted.

To those of you wondering why updates and changes are taking so long. Please take the time to read the new blue wall-o-text in the description. If you don't care to read it, just know it could take a long time for everything to get the updated but, they'll hopefully happen eventually.

Have you ever considered doing an energy weapon variant of this? I love the design but I mainly use lasers on my ships ATM.

UPDATE: October 28, 2016

WARNING: Sometimes mods corrupt when updating. Locate the 9digit number in the URL that corresponds to a 9digit.sbm file in the AppData/Roaming/SpaceEngineers/Mods folder. Delete that SBM file and it will force a redownload.

Finally! It took a while for me to get the update out since I got home from Florida but, all is well! My cousin's brain surgery went fantastically and he's returned to work. It's lovely to be back in Washington and have everything back that I missed. IE: My computer, bed, and amazing well water. :P

Thank you everyone for your wishes and being patient during that difficult time.

-This update brings everything to the current Stable SE version.
-Steam thrusters were quieted and white box shouldn't appear.
-Glass should be fixed.
-Many texture fixes to be in line with the new renderer.

All is well for the most part. Surgery went well but, they couldn't remove all of it. Will find out within a few days whether he needs to do chemo or not.

Maybe eventually? I'm presently 3000+ miles away from my computer taking care of my cousin that had brain surgery on the 8th. There's no way I can mod down here with what I have access to. Can't launch any games on this laptop I'm using. I have no idea when I'll be returning home.

Hey, Shao, do you have any plans to create more variants and/or a rocket turret? I've been working on really fleshing out a light frigate large grid design, and these turrets are perfect-looking for a point-defense system, but it would be great if I had some missile turrets of the same style.

Are you aware of the collision not working properly? For me it only gives proper collision for the turret ring. I can walk right through the turret and It really affects fps when I do so.

UPDATE:
-Steam Thruster 'should' be fixed and quieted down.
-Added support for the new variants system. (4000+ lines of code later)
-Cleaned up some code.
-No errors beyond "None File Extensions" present on release. I was able to place, grind, and weld all blocks without crashes.

The mod was released via the development branch, however no code changes took place that will break it for the stable branch. You will get a prompt about this, but you should have no issues.

SMALL UPDATE:
-Glass texture changed temporarily.
-Many textures fixed, were behaving very weird, still more to do, lemme know if you see anything specific.
-Catwalk Stair should no longer be crashing

BIG UPDATE:
-Near every single texture has be reworked to be better designed for better compression and smaller size.
-SLANTED FORCE FIELDS! I know, I know, took forever.
-DisplayName changes. Viewing block names in game should be significantly more pleasant.
-Assembler/Refinery storage capacity tweaked.
-New Gravity Generator
-Airlock door reworked a little bit to stop clipping issue.
-Airlock collision reworked slightly to hopefully stop so many explosions from unmerging.
-Hollow rotor is a little less explodey... Use with extreme caution.
-Many block position fixes, blocks finally showing up in block menu properly.

As with all big updates, if you have corruption errors. Delete the 9digitmod.sbm file located in appdata/spaceengineers/mods and redownload. No SubtypeID's were changed, so no blocks should vanish.

@flori1994, no guides available for turret creation, but if you use Blender and Harag's plugin:

@mainframecn, I've fixed the turret in one of my upcoming updates. I have yet to release it yet though as I've still got a bit to do. So, a fix is done and on the way, just not yet released.

I can't place this on a small grid. Makes the place sound but nothing shows. Only works for me on large grid.

Provide an example of what it is you're wanting to make before I give it more consideration. Turrets are quite time consuming to make.

Haven't seen anyone else post this in the comments but I can't seem to place your turret down I've only tried placing it on conveyers (might be modded conveyers) so far but I'll test with other blocks and yes I deleted all the files in the %appdata% folder.

I'll probably up it to 5x5x5 roughly so i can balance the ammo, then probably make a 1x1x1 version again
