In case people are wondering Fire Brigades/Departments/whatever you call them paint their hydrants in vivid colours such as red, yellow,heck,even green or/and blue so that they'll stand out more easily during a massive shout (what Firemen calls Emergency Calls) where water is needed to be drawn from the hydrants. These beats having some Fireman painfully examining various manhole covers to discern which is the Fire Hydrant and the local Gas Main.
