In the past, I have played with this civilization on the YNAEMP v24 giant earth map. Alas, for some reason, it no longer shows up on the civilization setup screen. Ant ideas why?

One thing I like about the Cherokee was they were reported to be very 'Civilized' or friendly and not very warlike. It is a very sad story of what happened to them.

Heya, this a great Cherokee mod. But can you be more specific in the credits as to which version of Amazing Grace you used? As there is a million versions of that song

Is anyone else having an issue with this civ disappearing from the choices when paired with the YNAEMP?

@TheCanterlonian Are you sure?

I'm related to this man! Thank you very much for letting me play as my great great great grandfather!

Oh but good job on the mod by the way and really good job with the history and all that. You did very well. Sorry I thought I said that earlier but just realized I didn't.
[MET] Aditsan 27 Jan, 2016 @ 11:42am
Oh I knew who he was. I wasn't saying he was a bad leader. Just that for this type of game where all the other natives look more primitive it's weird that one tribal leader is wearing a suit. xD That was my main point. lol

Besides, John Ross is a pretty interesting character, having led the Cherokee through their most tragic periods over several decades, campaigning for native rights etc.
[MET] Aditsan 27 Jan, 2016 @ 11:39am
Maybe one of those wide spread misconceptions you hear. You know like myths that get told and then spread and no one ever bothers to fact check it? That might explain it. Anyway, thanks for the information. I clearly wasn't aware. lol

The Cherokee were situated around Georgia at the time, completely different location. At best he may have had Cherokee lineage.
[MET] Aditsan 27 Jan, 2016 @ 11:35am
Nope, Tecumseh, the war chief that fought in the war of 1812 against the USA when they invaded Canada. I guess I'll have to do some research about this, it's the first time I'm hearing of it. They even said he was Cherokee on the reservation. We discussed it once when we went there.
RJ  [author] 27 Jan, 2016 @ 11:33am
@[MET] Aditsan

Nope, he's Shawnee apparently. Are you confusing him with someone else?
[MET] Aditsan 27 Jan, 2016 @ 11:31am
Wasn't Cherokee? Are you certain? Everything I've heard about Tecumseh said he was Cherokee or at least ethnically Cherokee.
RJ  [author] 27 Jan, 2016 @ 10:38am
@[MET] Aditsan

Well, Temcumesh was never Cherokee, he led a coalition of tribes (not including the Cherokee) in an entirely different geographical region. It'd be like having an English ruler lead Germany.
[MET] Aditsan 27 Jan, 2016 @ 10:21am
I like it but a bit disappointed the leader wasn't Chief Tecumseh.
Afuganisu-tan 1 Jan, 2016 @ 3:56pm
Hmm, one cherokee civilization for science, and another for food and war. Put both together, and you have an intresting game.

@abt.connor

A user named Firebug is interested in a Menominee mod, accept his friend request.
RJ  [author] 28 Nov, 2015 @ 5:40pm
@abt.connor

I suppose I could do some research, but I have quite a lot planned already. You could go down to civ fanatics and ask people there, there is a civilisation request thread I believe.

It's always fun to see your own people/ethnicity in civ, hell, I've done mine twice!
yeehaw425 28 Nov, 2015 @ 4:06pm
Could somebody possibly create a Menominee civilization? Im a tribal member and think that it would be pretty cool.
Afuganisu-tan 28 Nov, 2015 @ 8:11am
:D thanks
RJ  [author] 27 Nov, 2015 @ 1:09pm
@Thair, Mobique, and Ebrya

I believe colonialist legacies are working on one
Afuganisu-tan 27 Nov, 2015 @ 12:45pm
Can there be a malaysia civ?
hereismynam3 28 Aug, 2015 @ 3:25pm

RJ  [author] 28 Aug, 2015 @ 2:17am
@Mig114

Yes
hereismynam3 27 Aug, 2015 @ 4:53pm
Would this civilization be compatible with Ethnic Units?
Darc 10 Aug, 2015 @ 2:33pm
yea they had alot of in fighting too main reason there were 2 factions of them
RJ  [author] 10 Aug, 2015 @ 2:30pm
@Darc

After alot of heated debates they technically sided with the Confederacy, but many Cherokee fought on both sides, it was nearly as divisive for them as it was for the US.
Darc 10 Aug, 2015 @ 1:47pm
o n i was thinkin a another cool unit for this would be civil war unit they did fight on both sides mostly confedracy?
Darc 10 Aug, 2015 @ 1:45pm
o ok didnt see that anywhere but now3 i no why i cant find this in the game lol ty
RJ  [author] 10 Aug, 2015 @ 4:41am

RJ  [author] 9 Aug, 2015 @ 11:28am

Darius_DC 9 Aug, 2015 @ 10:47am

moebius 9 Aug, 2015 @ 10:12am
Nice!
RJ  [author] 8 Aug, 2015 @ 12:19pm
@Pip

Oh my, that's a typo and a half, thanks for pointing that out. Unfortunately I don't like to stay in one spot with my modding projects, I tend to jump from one continent/cultural region to another per mod XD

@ruhrgebietheld

Thanks so much for the comment!

@ianandsue5

Either the Cumans led by Konchak, or Brunei led by Bolkiah (not to be confused with the current Sultan). More likely to be the Cumans.
Lykeuhfox 8 Aug, 2015 @ 2:20am
Yes! Someone finally made my Native American tribal affiliation a civ!
Mojave Neon 7 Aug, 2015 @ 6:21pm
Wow, you've made some excellent civs before, but you really outdid yourself with this one. It's pretty much perfect, and its quality is easily at least as good as that of the official Firaxis-made civs. Very well researched, and also quite unique. It also allows you to choose between a few different playstyles, as its strengths show up well in more than just one facet of the game. Also thrilled with the UB being a public school replacement, which almost no other civs have. Both peace and war themes were beautiful, the artwork was first class, and the civ colors were both unique and eye-pleasing. One of my absolute favorite civs out there now. Give yourself a pat on the back, because you knocked this one out of the park.
Barbarossa 7 Aug, 2015 @ 5:25pm
The cherokee were in the SouthEAST, not west. Also if you haven't already, do a civ for the rest of the 5 civilized tribes

And then do and evil tyrannical Andrew Jackson Civ, so that way the trail of tears may go a bit... Differently

garycreekmore 5 Aug, 2015 @ 9:34pm
I'm about to beat that D I'm so happy
bradley.gilligan 5 Aug, 2015 @ 8:21pm
How do I add this if I'm on a Mac? None of the mods work for me. :(
moomintrolled 5 Aug, 2015 @ 6:07pm
Personally would have preferred Dragging Canoe instead of John Ross, but wonderful mod with great respect for American Indian history. Very nice!
woven100 5 Aug, 2015 @ 1:37pm
oh i didnt know that but thanks

@ryanjames

i am sure he was a leader of the good tribe but probably in the 1700s he leaded them and before that chiefs
RJ  [author] 5 Aug, 2015 @ 1:10pm
@woven100

I am, very certain John Ross was a significant leader of the Cherokee
