Aww thanks. I'm sorry again, and I didn't know you are new to the game. How mods affect things and what's totally safe (maps, map themes, a good portion of assets) vs risky (mods, of course, assets with a zillion triangles or absurdly large textures) has one heck of a learning curve.
Here's my best suggestion to give you a good leap ahead:
- As few mods as possible. Always look for a statement that says "will not affect save game". Road network mods are best avoided as a beginner. Road assets are a safer bet.

Hey, I get it. I'm new to the game. So, I make stupid mistakes and ask a TON of stupid questions.
I'm learning that the problems I find are usually on MY end. So... I'm trying to learn to hold my questions/comments until I've tested and exhausted all other avenues.
I don't know why dealing with us noobs doesn't drive all you great modders away from the community and running for the hills. :D

Sigh. I didn't forget. This is the updated version ^ with oil offshore for industries. Check the time and date "Last updated" up at the top right, as with the other map you commented on. I finally got through to be able to update this after the last comments below, which was on that day at 5:19.
It would save a lot of time if you would just open the map in map editor to check it, or you could even add more resources or oil offshore if you wanted or change anything. Super easy.

Yeah, I forgot about it. give it about 30 mins to update. Look at the top right update time and when it says today's date, subscribe and you'll have the oil offshore as it should be :)

Hey Earthtomars, actually this map was made *last* January and not this January. :D Industries came out long after the update. Nevertheless, I went ahead and updated the map to have oil offshore.

Unsub from this workshop version and place my dropbox file inside this folder C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Local\Colossal Order\Cities_Skylines\Maps and the game will think you made it. The plus is that you can edit the map however you like before starting your city, and I definitely am happy if you make some changes to it :) It's gonna be your city after all!

no i haven't yet but i this does look like it might just replace monument islands as my favourite map and ore can be added offshore too but it is not as effective as land based mining

Oh crap! LOL Yeah, I forgot to add oil offshore. I always do now, but I missed that in the update of this map. If you've already started a city, you can use Extra Landscaping Tools mod by BloodyPenguin to paint oil offshore.

Hi koyangi. By Kachel I think you mean tiles? 9 is never enough :D I have used this mod since the beginning in 2015. It always works and is a very simple mod. Will not cause problems.

robjandekker, there are two possibilities. Either you have to wait longer for shipping to start coming, or if you've moved the harbors with Move It, it stops functioning (ships stop coming). If you use the default move tool (click building, select move) and plop it back down and don't use Move It again, shipping will resume.

Have 2 harbors connected to the shipping lanes but no ships?

When you select start a new game, you have to scroll past all the maps that came with the game. it's not exacttly in alphabetic order in the list :D

Aww man! I feel your pain! There are cities and maps I can't open any more - those mods are so appealing but sometimes they can break a city after an update :( Well, it's not much of a consolation but I'm working on two tropical islands. They will both have the environment like seen in this pic. The pic is the smaller island map which is almost finished, and the one that's still being worked on has terrain inspired by the New Caledonia map.
