You people got a big problem with your "confusion" I suppose you in real live would see a standard low tier biohazard suit and you will think it will be armored and wonderful to avoid radiation right?

Stop mixing radiactive protection suits with biohazard ones... Biohazard suits mostly are just raincoats.

Ladicius , The soft shadow arround the straps were made to give it a feel of used and dirty on that areas... I think about improve it once I will be able to see the full effect on diferent biomes to see if it look out of place.

Nice idea but... why is there such a weird soft shadow around the straps? makes it look cheap, like when graphics didn't support normal mapping (which I can see you added), so they over compensated with diffuse shadows

Will you optimize it some more?
