I captured this ship in the EEM mod and just wanted to say I've been having a ton of fun with it. I used the hangar bay as a gun deck for the new Railgun and two Artillery Cannons. I even put a hinged blast door to cover the front and it pops open to fire. https://youtu.be/cPQa1pH_SpM

I also added spinning decoy towers and turned the aft connectors into assault cannon turrets.

How do you deploy the landing gear
zeckmon3 24 Sep, 2017 @ 4:27am
Oh yes my pirate empire is growing
LeonserGT 28 Apr, 2016 @ 2:12am
Do you plan to rebuild it to make interplanetar? And why you renamed it "hauler", when it has only few small cargo containers?
DeadVoxels 11 Nov, 2015 @ 8:06am
i like the vanilla flavour to it man!
KotaroZERO 19 Oct, 2015 @ 12:00pm
Just thought I'd put this out there, but this looks a lot like the Orbital Mech Dropships from MechWarrior. I don't know if you were going for that or not, either way, very nice ship.
Pahndoomack 30 Sep, 2015 @ 5:59pm
maybe even make it bigger
FakeFox 30 Sep, 2015 @ 6:54am
Didnt notice the gravitything, but nice idea actually. What i ment with the hangar is that you could add more detail to the ceiling and lights.
Matthew Spindler  [author] 30 Sep, 2015 @ 5:11am
Nah that's cool man. Here's some feedback...

The stingy power output was intentional. Make sure the ships batteries are charged and set to discharge. They're there to pick up the load requirements when the reactor is under a large load.

Cameras are a good idea I may look into doing that.

The hangar was left empty so YOU could do what you wanted with it. It will fit 2 large cargo containers in it I left it empty so people could easily see that.

The ship is also outfitted with gravity generators and mass blocks to counteract natural gravity. Its been tweaked and balanced so it will have a neutral bouyancy when gravity generators are at -1G in an enviorment of 1G of natural gravity. So at that point the thrusters can really be helpful.
FakeFox 30 Sep, 2015 @ 4:17am
Awsome ship! But i still have a few ideas what you could do better. ^^

- The Ship overcharges realy fast, so you should maybe add a second reactor or some small ones.
- Add Cameras, it would make landing this ship far easyier and cooler, because you woulnt need the outside view anymore.
- Add more detail to the hangar. The rest of the ship is so detailed and good looking, but the hangar feels so empty.
- I think this ship will need more upwards thrust to be able to take off from a planet once all blocks are effected by gravity.

Dont take this to serious, its still a fantastic ship and a whole lot better then everything i could come up with.^^

It's Star Wars meets Warhammer 40k; I like it.
Pahndoomack 6 Sep, 2015 @ 10:25am
wow thanks that was fast
Matthew Spindler  [author] 6 Sep, 2015 @ 10:24am
its glitched. place a reactor and then they'll go on.
Pahndoomack 6 Sep, 2015 @ 10:23am
i cant get thrusters to work

looking at the front really reminds me those sand crawlers the jawa use
Matthew Spindler  [author] 21 Aug, 2015 @ 2:56pm
I enjoy every bit of it, but thank you for your insight. Dont let the subscribes go to your head.

Happy building ; )
LeonserGT 21 Aug, 2015 @ 2:54pm
@Farmdawg, lolwat? Toggleable natural gravity? More like "planets on/off" (there'll be such optiom). But if you have planets you'll have natural gravity - it's part of gameplay. And most of bigship are not supposed to land on planets, only stay in orbit
LeonserGT 21 Aug, 2015 @ 2:52pm
Nice design, awful colour. Not automated systems like doors or hangar. Poor interior + how do we suppose to fly up with jetpacks inside planetary gravity field? Oh, anyway, it can't handle natural gravity with such weak bottom thrusters. Maximum what it will do is float above surface in 0.5-0.6 G of real unreleased planet's gravity, but goind down if "space" pushed (ultrastrong dampeners in planets gravity now). I hope you'll accept critics and continue to make better mod-free ships - it's so hard to find really good vanilla ships in workshop now :(
Helratz 19 Aug, 2015 @ 3:15pm
Nice build Milkman!
Helratz 19 Aug, 2015 @ 3:13pm
FYI- Natural gravity can be beaten using a mod on the workshop. Hopefully they add natural gravity as an on/off option to existing generators. If they do, an anti-gravity drive can be built easily. Fine tuning takes some work and it still depends on how well balanced your ships weight and thruster placement are. I've done it with a 3 million Kg aerial platform.
Helratz 19 Aug, 2015 @ 3:04pm
@Farmdawg- It's actually just under 75,000 Kg, not 75 Kg. Also that's with 0 cargo.
Webmind 1 19 Aug, 2015 @ 2:24pm
WH40K Thunderhawk as inspiration?
Dread Vim Fantail 18 Aug, 2015 @ 7:07pm
LOL. The Shuttle Endeavor only weighs 75 Kg.
Matthew Spindler  [author] 18 Aug, 2015 @ 4:34pm
@Farmdawg

yes, im almost cetain natural gravity will be a on/off option. I completely agree. Its gonna mess up alot of peoples builds. Only time will tell.
Dread Vim Fantail 18 Aug, 2015 @ 1:16pm
From my experience creating VTOL craft in Kerbal Space Program, it takes a LOT of balancing work. For example, going into space with a full tank and re-entering with a 1/4 tank. They tend to flip. There are some pretty obvious differences between KSP and Space Engineers, but for the most part I'd expect the mechanics to be similar. Basically, your center of thrust has to be in line with your center of gravity in a flight position AND a landing position. At almost 3 million Kg, this ship would need a ton of thrust to slow down in atmosphere without plummeting into the ground. I have a feeling the devs will have to make planetary gravity toggleable as it might make it too difficult for some of the younger players who don't quite understand how gravity works yet. To be perfectly honest, a lot of the designs people post work well in a no-gravity setting. Expect the majority of the ships built so far to have issues flying in Newtonian gravity settings. Good luck.
Matthew Spindler  [author] 18 Aug, 2015 @ 11:46am
@inge

I'm not sure. Nobody knows how any of their stuff will react to natural gravity. All we can do is make adjustments as we go. Which I fully intend on doing with this blueprint.
Radioillern 18 Aug, 2015 @ 10:15am
Can it land in natural gravity? Not much of a lander if it can't... ;)

Wow great. =) What do you think? When will introduce the world - whether popular mobile carriers? For example such as this: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=500473312

Or maybe drill, with unlimited depth of drilling?: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=500473312

enjoy!
Modemus 17 Aug, 2015 @ 2:03pm
hey milkman, i ended up loving this crafts design so much that I decided to do my first ever workshop showcase on it. you can find the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q-9EGYRbxTE

as of time of posting, it is still being processed. give it an hour. And, you of course are more than welcome to link the video to this page if you wish...

looks like this ship could figure in Firefly (tv serie), very nice work :)
Vulcan013 14 Aug, 2015 @ 11:48pm
If you want to know why it has that Star Wars fell, it looks sort of like a Mix between the CR-20 Troop Transport, and the Consular Class Cruiser from the Clone Wars Era.
Regnion 14 Aug, 2015 @ 8:43pm
This has a very Star Wars-y feel to it, and by that I mean a classical sort of industrial, utilitarian look, yet not being ugly. It looks robust and capable. Great job.
zakiducky 14 Aug, 2015 @ 6:47pm
I like this new version quite a bit! The planetary landing capability is a great addition, and suits the look of the ship quite well! Might I suggest, if it fits, having a ramp at the front that folds down, so it's easier to walk on/off the ship? It would cover the break in the angled surface on the front too, so there isn't this big discontinuity to it.
Captain_Crooked 14 Aug, 2015 @ 3:52pm
Ava, how might one do that? I do have one ship in particular I want to up-date, but I do not have the source blueprint anymore :/
Avaslash 14 Aug, 2015 @ 9:16am
@The Milkman thats unfortunate because there is actually a way to replace a deleted sourceblueprint with a new one so you dont have to re-upload :/
Matthew Spindler  [author] 14 Aug, 2015 @ 7:08am
@ava

Yea, I wanted to upload the updated version and was unable to because I had delete the source blueprint. So I had to upload it all over again.

Reminds me of a Halo Pelican crossed with a Jawa Sandcrawler. I LIKE IT!:steamhappy:
