@MrMiyagi I was thinking maybe maps based off or inspired by one of Africa's booming cities such as Lagos, Abidjan, Kinshasa, and stuff. I feel like that part of the world gets little attention and it would be cool to see some maps of those places.
MrMiyagi  [author] 4 May, 2019 @ 3:12pm
That's been on my mind for a long time, actually. Great idea. Do you have Parklife DLC? I can use some cool things from the DLC zoo items for this.

Since we have map themes, it's possible to do something unusual like a savannah environment, something we couldn't do before. What are your thoughts? Maybe a savannah bordering a rift lake? Mr Maison has that nice acacia tree, so that will work out great.

Re: West Africa, unless it was a map of a real place, I'm not sure what could distinguish a West African inspired map from other jungle coastline maps.

I wouuldn't be able to start this for a long while, but I think it's a great idea.

Can you possibly do more Africa-inspired maps something like resembling west and central Africa? I feel like there aren't enough of these in the workshop.

Hi Alex, this was a custom request, and it's both real and fantasy :D The island's shapes, volcano and crater lakes are from the real Nosy Be island off Madagascar, but pretty much the rest is fantasy (the terrain of terraced flat areas flattened out for easier city building, highway connections, extra islands for rail and highway connections, etc)

Hi. Is this real place or fictional? I prefer fictional ones, but it doesn't really matters - I am just curious
MrMiyagi  [author] 17 Nov, 2018 @ 2:11am
LOL I didn't think of that myself :D Definitely have the best vanilla from Madagascar. Hmm, makes me wonder, does that make this map the best vanilla map in the world? :chirp:
Gumboot Guy 16 Nov, 2018 @ 3:19pm

If you go into first person view.... then the west shore of the crater lake by the Simba statue, you should see some dancing lemurs hanging out XD
Walking Roscoe on YouTube 22 Aug, 2016 @ 9:23am
Where are the dancing animals??? HA! Just kidding.

Great looking map.

Ah, I'd put the intake right in the center of the waterspawn so that there's less chance of anything coming in. Once I expand, I always put the two very far apart. There's a few "shelves" where you can place the water structures, even.
In any event, I'm glad you brought that up! It will help me make sure to look out for that in the next map :)
MaxDoomSWE 21 Oct, 2015 @ 10:02am
Id thought i would put that super sucking intake a bit away from the center of the waterspawn to pull the water away. It has worked on other maps. Yes, the water moves in mysterious ways in CSL. Thats why i put such a beast there, this early on. But i might try more of those balancing tricks between sewage, water intake and waterspawns. Oooor just put my in- and outtakes elsewhere. Far away from that mighty waterspawn:)
MrMiyagi  [author] 21 Oct, 2015 @ 5:40am
Okay Max my friend, I updated that water advice image (see link). Also one last thing to check before doing all those changes, I doubt it's the problem since the city is so small, but just to be sure, on the top left view options, also press the water symbol to make sure you have enough sewage power. That would be the other reason why your map gets that sick from water symbol. Let me know which problem it was, and if necessary I will update the map with some changes http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/576818125369018121/CA8727710FE9C3DE78917AB4827868826610F1F5/?interpolation=lanczos-none&output-format=jpeg&output-quality=95&fit=inside|637:358&composite-to=*,*|637:358&background-color=black

Oh noooooooooo!!! Well actually something else is going wrong there because of the map and the custom intake. They're being poisoned by sewage flowing into the water intake. I looked at the map, and on the left side the water spawn is just a bit higher powered than on the right, and your water intake (I have the same custom asset) is on the slightly weaker side and is super efficient at sucking up water. So what to do. Put up a few water towers for now. Deactivate the water intake (instead of destroying it, save some money). Move the sewers to the right side bay. wait for the water on left to clear, and then place the water intake over on the left, at the slightly more powerful spawn. The easiest would be to rely on water towers until you can expand to put the sewers on a more remote shore, but I thought I'd give you a few options.
MaxDoomSWE 20 Oct, 2015 @ 3:56pm
Those high flow waterspawns in the starting square create flooding on buildings around 20 points inland. I cant see any water washing up on land but the buildings say they are flooded. So be careful placing any buildings near the waterspawns.

Welcome guys! watch out for those devlish lemurs, though.

Awww thanks Chuck Gnarly! For me, this is the game. I barely get past 40,000 and "meh, I'm bored with this landscape. Time for another map" XD Glad they're liked! They keep my mind busy and active. Win win!

Good work on the map!

Very cool! And thanks for the question, it helped me improve this page!
SamsamTS 16 Aug, 2015 @ 5:56am
@MrMiyagi Thanks for the info. The map looks really great, I can't wait to try it out.
MrMiyagi  [author] 16 Aug, 2015 @ 5:44am
I know I tossed everything but the kitchen sink into having my game experience look like the above, but it's actually really easy. I use VERY few mods, and that terrain texture is one of them. Really beautiful results. Any questions on how to use it? Feel free, I will help you
MrMiyagi  [author] 16 Aug, 2015 @ 5:43am
Hi SamsamTS. I know I write way too much :D It's near the bottom of this tl;dr description, just above that line. I am using the custom terrain textures found on my New Caledonia map, and the terrain texture mod, and then I used the European LUT, which looks good on the custom textures. There's some other mapmakers coming out with beautiful textures, too (look at Ibiza! wow) If you'd like to know how to use that mod, the instructions are here, the middle section. https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=495143057&searchtext=
SamsamTS 16 Aug, 2015 @ 4:45am
Did you use a LUT or did you retouched the screenshot?
MrMiyagi  [author] 15 Aug, 2015 @ 6:04pm
Oh yeah!! I had seen San Juan and Cartagena in the Workshop before. They're really beautiful. San Juan really needed to be done. We definitely need more maps in Latin America. They've done really well in the workshop.
pieuponieu 15 Aug, 2015 @ 4:20pm
I guess we'll have to wait for the new DLC to come out to get good beach/marina action, but I did download that resort. I've made many maps (or at least started many maps), but I've only uploaded 4 so far. You can see them here https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/id/flippityfloo/myworkshopfiles/?appid=255710 .

I'm going to start a new game on this map right now!
MrMiyagi  [author] 15 Aug, 2015 @ 3:03pm
I think that photo was really touched up :D So there is a cool marina that can be placed on the seashore. It doesn't have ships, but I would think we could convince someone to make sailing boats. https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=423371272&searchtext=marina
MrMiyagi  [author] 15 Aug, 2015 @ 3:01pm
It will be great to see your maps! :) I am really glad to see more people coming out with maps!
Wait, what marina? OH!! It really does look like it's in game! That's actually a real photograph from Nosy Be, but i will take that one out. Here is the Google Earth location of it. Wild isn't it? https://www.google.de/maps/place/G%C3%A9rard+et+Francine/@-13.4125353,48.2114039,1189a,20y,41.4t/data=!3m1!1e3!4m2!3m1!1s0x2213c8f98e3a9a3d:0xdd135c44baa84878

MrMiyagi, as usual, you have created a beautiful map! You should know you are the one who inspired me to start making maps of my own, but I still try to find time to play on your maps. I have to ask, where did you get the marina in the screen shot above? I have been looking for such an asset, and I've seen a few screen shots that include them. I'm dying to know!
