The actual design, quite frankly, looks really, really eh. I'd almost say terrible, but that's a little too harsh. I suggest making it look like a grenade launcher with an ornament-themed casing around it, but the loss of the barrel and the back of the weapon just doesn't work. Also, the stickies themselves look awesome, just saying. (Maybe this item could be modified to make it so that if it's fired at the ceiling, the "ornaments" will hang down from it!)
Anyway, this needs a good amount of modification, but I think it could work if fixed up.

How about for a barrel you design it after one of the something like this [www.busyboo.com] with the more tear-drop shaped part extended out to look like a barrel. Maybe add more detail to the bulb as well? Seems like a fun design.

You're in the right direction, but... perhaps you went too far? I like the concept. This is in TF2 style too... but gee willikers. There is something off about this... I suppose there isn't actually a device for launching ornaments. Well, when in doubt, double down! No gunmetal for this puppy! Just Christmas Gold and Candycane... If you get it done in time for the holidays, you'll be in business! Don't be afraid to customize those stickybombs more... is it possible to have differently colored sticky bombs from one gun? It would be nice if you could ACTUALLY deck the halls and such. Speaking of which, add some boughs of Holly or Cedar sprigs. Maybe some Mistletoe. (Can you say critcal sticky?) If that's decorating the gun, the gunmetal is alright then. I can see it.

how about the ornaments/bombs to less damage but when an enemy walks over it A: it decreases the damage even more and B: makes the player bleed for 5 seconds

I like the stickybomb models, but the launcher itself doesn't look very nice. One large bulb doesn't look very good. It needs more on the front and back so it doesn't look so empty.
