Access to the Resource controller from the start is a nice welcome.
50/50 on the gravewell changes, why not try making gravwells counter gravwells.

@Deathjaw41 First of all, this balance testing mod is intended to only be used in multiplayer; support for the campaign will be implemented later.

As for the lack of an update, I'll just copy and paste what I said in the "status update?" discussion above:

GBX likely threw this mod out there just to keep the community happy while they worked on the next big update, which is looking likely to have functioning formations, along with other new features and mod support.

No doubt many of the changes that this mod made will eventually be implemented into the core game, but the GBX devs have had bigger fish to fry since the release of this mod than simple balance updates, such as completely replacing the ship movement code

To stay more in-the-loop over the next few weeks, head over the GBX forums, or look at the more recent post(s) on /r/homeworld

It's been a while since an update to this... Wondering if anything will come of this? Also, I have some issues with the mod. In campaign, the first mission objectives do not complete. Also, I am unable to research bombers when it becomes available in the later missions. Would love to see these things fixed.

I only have one question. I love HW1RM but I miss being able to play the Taidan. Will there be an update adding playable Taidan in the singleplayer?

This is for those who want to run this mod in multiplayer, as many have questions as to 'how'.

1) go to steam library
2) click on homeworld (if you own it)
3) scroll down to workshop
4) click on 'Browse the workshop'
5) scroll down under 'most popular'
6) click on Official Gearbox Balance testing mod
7) suscribe to install
8) launch homeworld when item is done downloading
9) Lauch Homeworld
10) click the 'Mods' button in bottom right
11) click of offical balance mod, and click 'Select'
12) Navigate to the Command Line bar in the bottom.
13) copy and past the following in the command

-mpbeta

14) click launch and have fun!

I have an issue where this mod doesn't allow me to research/build bombers during the campaign? I only have this mod installed. I can work around this by starting a mission without the mod, saving the game after building the bombers I want, and then load the game but then I can't build any more. Plz fix

I like the way there is absolutely no description of this, or any mention that it's multiplayer only, or what it is for, or what changes have been made, or any link to any resource that explains it.

I love the effort to bring back this game but I am disappointed in a few ways. First off I wished that they could have made the maps alot larger and prevented the AI from knowing where your fleet may be unless discovered by a probe or scout. As it is now it's like duking it out with the next door neighbor and the player is the only one that needs probes or scouts. I do like this game and have always scince it's first release, but developers can't seem to make it more realistic for me. Space vast and I am sure there is some good hiding places out there.

1) Please increase the number of units able to remain docked on carrier and mothership. Carrier to at least 14/70 or a bit more and the mothership is very large thus it should be able to hold all strikecraft and some collectors, miscellaneous probes, etc. Perhaps it could be optional and similar to fleet size, ie. low, default, large, huge.
2) HW1 strikecraft sqaudronized like HW2 or perhaps an option for it.

@GNGSTRpenguin, yes, in order to play with others everyone has to have the same mod activated. But you don't have to "uninstall" the mod to play with others. You would need to just launch the game without the mod.

My prayers have been heard! Now I can play skirmishes without battlecruisers, THANKS! anyway, some criticism, bigger ships like frigates and destroyers seem to fall quite fast when attacked by swarms of strike crafts and corvettes. Love the "mod" =D

Is there any posibility to add an option in the gamerules to change the battle duration( increase units HP, decrease damage) ? At least 2 options with x2 HP and x 5 HP

When you hear Destroyer and Battlecruiser, you expect ships that can hold the line at least 1 minute, not 5 seconds

@Phoenix Gravin - the same question could be asked for any ship they could have picked. It's just as reasonable to ask "why not bombers?".

I heard something about the Higaaran BC being better than the Vaygr BC in the remastered edition? Can someone please explain?

I know the Hig BC has an advantage due to the ion cannons being able to point, and the Vaygr needing to point DIRECTLY at the ship, but is that all? Since that was a thing in the original HW2 as well.

I also have a problem with Homeworld Remastered, Where the Mothership and Carriers are See-through, and my other ships are almost invisible, actually dissapearing from certain angles.

Hey, killslim. Thanks for the feedback. You can 'move while engage' vettes when then are attacking capital ships or any time they are in frontal attack mode.

Good balance patch, makes a lot of units a lot more usable. This patch changes HW1 corvette behaviour though, and makes them sitting ducks in combat.

@SoulTechnology You know the MP has that big red "Beta" label, so yes, it is planned for it to make it to the game.

On the topic of breaking the mods, this is just about new ships and weapons, that doesn't break mods. Only their balancing, not function.

I experience some random PC freezing with this mod. The screen basically turns black or any other color similar to the background and I can't alt+tab out of the game and must restart. It happens at random times, but now that it happened twice something must be off. Running win10 btw.

will this mod ever become an official patch to the game (if it works out)? i feel this information could be suefull to modders who are planning ahead as to avoid another situation we recently had, where a game patch seemed to break almost all the mods and severly delay mods in development (or is that the point of this being a 'mod' first is to give that time and warning?)
