Just wanted to say that my family and I LOVED this map! It is very challenging and we have re-played it several times. Well done!!!

@Shico - you can try, but I think it might not be so good.

I have already played it but I want a better one

This might be sort og what you are looking for: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=179723415

Otherwise just play the "Fortress" map that is inclueded in the game.

Can you do a map that's like 4 player and everyone spawns in their little "castle" area with stonese walls around with gates etc?

I've tried to do what you suggested, but it's hard to control cliffs. So I can't really make and AoE3-style mesas map. It still looks pretty good though.

@Donald Trump - Sure, I'll see what I can do :)

Could you do a Southwest Mesas map? Desert map with sparse wood, lots of elevated self-enclosed cliffs and cliff plateaus with gold/stone at their foothills.
Could make the lack of wood an interest gameplay feature also.

Vikings are going to dominate this map

There's plenty of wood, probably at least like 30000? I never count the number of digits afterwards

Ah, I see. I havent actually played it. I just noticed it in workshop highlight and Thought I'd take a look. Found your comment/discussion and went from there. However, assuming that the islands are smal enough, yes, soldiers can/could be skipped intirely. Actual navy warefare should work perfectly.

This map looks sweet the only problem I see is the lack of other resources besides food, plenty of fish but not a lot of stone and wood so you would have to buy them and while the relic generates gold its been pointed out that it doesnt produce very much so this may be difficult to afford. But with the limited land this may not be as much of a problem as it seems, although you will need a monastary before you can generate gold.

I like it.

I was thinking that it would be best if the AI entirely ignored building an army. This would eliminate the need for transports and free up building space on the home island. As long as the civ has cannon galleons, an AI could win without ever producing military land units (on this map at least).
SpoOkyMagician 28 Aug, 2015 @ 5:17pm
Making water playing AI's is a pain. For one, the limit is 20 max spaces on each transport ship. For a 200 pop game, you would need at least 5 transport ships for military. The AI will actually have to load/disambark safely to the other island and unload. Assuming your military survives, it will just have to repeat this task over and over. If a loop hole is found by the player, (which there usually will be) it will be a waste of time for the AI. Walls is the first idea that comes to mind... The AI always preferred land based maps anyhow. (It may be better now from the update(s) but, I tend to leave water strategies out of my AI's for this reason.
Zetnus  [author] 28 Aug, 2015 @ 10:58am
It would require a custom AI built specifically for this type of map. Maybe if I have time, I'll look for somone who wants to write a suitable AI script for me.
Connerq44 27 Aug, 2015 @ 8:00pm
AI's definately don't do well if you deny them early, then it's just WAY too easy. Still quite fun despite that. I'm glad this kind of map type exists Somewhere
Immortal Pancake 27 Aug, 2015 @ 5:09pm
Accept my friend request, I have a cool idea for a map I would love to talk to you about.
Zetnus  [author] 25 Aug, 2015 @ 2:46am
You also start with 16 gold piles. Once that is used up you will need to use trade cogs.
Ruinae Retroque Rursus 25 Aug, 2015 @ 2:37am
One relic for gold? Not all that much...
