I hate night maps.
Our server is private so I keep default maps in my mapcycle, and only enough to populate the end-game vote screen. We mainly play custom maps and I rcon those on the fly.
Besides, I keep a master text file of all our maps sorted by mode and since many maps are multi-mode I have the correct syntax already specified for each map in each mode section. Makes it quick to copy/paste for rcon changelevel commands on our server.
No worries mate....studies (and grades) take priority. Tx!
Since many maps support multiple playing modes it's good form to add the mode desired after the map-name. If not specified, the map *should* load up in it's default mode but I've seen strange model glitches in some maps when the mode is not specified.
Looking forward to the day version soon!
It is easier to have a remote site with all of my files and all of my servers download the same way and I have more control over the updates... Also make note naming, many are going to _ws to indicate Work Shop, yours is listed as _b2_ and when you change to _b3_ the server will not download it, the mapcycle won't switch to it until the admin notices the change and then changes the Mapcycle file.
@BroQ: I'm ok with NVG maps but not my favorite and some of our players hate it. Maybe you can rename this version to "osama_b2_night_checkpoint" and release a separate lightened version. G4RY did that with "khanashin"; it's great having options...changes up the play style a bit.
As for the map, i don't have problem with pitch dark places, i either switch to flashlight or use both of them. But i have custom server with custom theater and supply costs.
1) I will look into this! On my end, it only looked dark if I didn't have night vision goggles on. I will lighten it up in future updates and see if you guys perfer it.
2) As for the bots on Checkpoint A: My intentions for this point was to have it as a huge defensive objective. I wanted the bots to arrive a few seconds after the player so you would have time to set up as a team.
3) Actually, I have versions of this map on FPSBanana. :)
1) yes, I would prefer dusk lighting. The bots already have advantage given the openness
2) indifferent on this one
3) ?...what's the diff?
1.) Too Dark even with Night Vison, needs a little more light
2.) Bots at "A" seem to spawn too far back an takes a long time to get in range in both normal attack and the counter.
3.) Please release a NON-Workshop version.
I can see a really good future for this map.
