well, the best piece of advice i can give you is everyone is using a blender extension that, for the most part, does all the conversion and packaging into mwm automatically. enenra's SEUT is indispensable but does require the game's SDK and blender specifically. as i understand it it's not too difficult to wrap one's head around in comparison to the old ways. more in-depth stuff like the texture atlas system you'd have to ask someone a little more experienced in the modeling side if you want a less muddied explanation.

@void catgirl rglx I didn't get any notification that people had been leaving comments so I didn't respond. I think I might still have the .fbx/hkt files I would have to look for them. I also wouldn't mind doing the updates myself I just need some help understanding all the changes to the compiler so I can make changes. Either way getting my mods updated and maybe even creating some new ones would be nice. I was one of the very first people to create mods for this game when it came out but had to stop due to traveling for work now I have time I have forgotten so much it's hard to get started again.

i'd like to try and update this mod for modern space engineers, mostly so the texture issues with the conveyor links can be resolved and a third layer of range for the welders so we can have larger arrays. do you have the original .fbx/hkt files for the models?

@Telamont Have you considered adapting the "ToolCore" mod for this shipyard? It may allow you to increase the area of affect.

Can this scale up, if you build up the frame more? Some of my ships are.... large. They wouldn't fit based on the screenshots as presented. And this is a stupid question, but if this acts as a welder or grinder... can you actually be in your ship when it's in the shipyard, or will it kill you?

@Jackson Barker No they have changed so many things in the coding that I was unable to compile it the last time I tried to update and I don't have time to learn the new coding. But as far as I know it still works.

what are the id's for etch welder type as i'm setting up a server whit etch faction will have a limit on how many they have like between 4 to 8 per faction

After i finish building the ship inside i cant move it. The game thinks its connected to the base although it is not touching any base block...

I have a full size blueprint setup built @ItBeMeAgain I think there's just a couple single armor blocks that need to be deleted to help place it when I did it. (if it still works after the heavy indy update.

great mod, works pefectly given you can read the family friendly instruction ay.
or look at the family freindly 3rd picture you geniuses

but imo, the cost of building should be 3-5 times higher and the power consumption around 20 times higher to balance it in survival.
also how about 1x5x2 pices instead of 1x5x3 its so annoying to place in survival
and how about a couple blueprints which you could link in the description concidering the description and two pictures does not do the trick apparently. & it takes long to build due to the specific setup it requires for max range.

Does it only work for external steel structures because it doesn't weld all the parts when the project is placed on the hologram?

I have issue where it welds, and then decides to stop welding the projection after a certain time, same issue despite being enough steel plates to continue

Does anyone else have issues with the welders taking forever to build despite having plenty of everything needed to build the ship?

I have more than enough steel plates, const. comps, etc, but the welders build some and then stop. The only thing that seems to remedy this is turning the welders off for a few minutes and then turning it back on. Then it repeats, building some and then stopping for no apparent reason.

Thank you for clariflying on that. It rather sucks since I enjoy pirating NPCs for resources to build stuff and end up having trouble producing batteries. Why don't they just change batteries to start at 0 charge when built? Stops cheating and allows us to get our power cells back.

Yes it is normal JohnJ44 it's to prevent the way batteries used to work, drain battery, break down, rebuild for more energy.

How does one use this with a projecter? I've never used a projector so i dunno how they work but I assume you use a projector to build ships with this right?

It seems to be the power cells from batteries being changed into scrap metal after some testing.

When I run ships through the grinders, a portion of the parts are converted into scrap metal instead of components. Is this normal?

@Feronox From reading some of the comments not sure if it works, you can sub and try it. As for updating it I tried to fix some of the problems and re-compile it with the .MWM builder and it kept erroring out. IDK what has changed from the last time I used it, and don't have time to learn everything that has changed to fix the problem. I tried to hand my mods off at one time, but I don't think the person I gave them to did anything with them.

I'm having the same issue as CapitanDart. without useing extended range and the checkerboard, I have 2 flat sections tall on the sides in addition to the corners and it's not welding several vertical layers of blocks in the center.

In the one in the pic It is only 2 tall, Your Original post said I shouldn't have to use the XR's unless it is bigger than that. If I do make the checker board pattern there are still places where the blocks are not destroyed unless I go all the way down to just 1 tall.

If I let the ship that I want to grind move through at extremely slow speeds I can usually get it to be all ground up if the tube is long enough while using the checkerboard at only 2 wide. I have just placed a wall at the back to catch anything that might get missed. If I go to three wide with the checkerboard then there is still a hole all the way through.

@CaptianDart your right there is a issue with the detector placement on the grinder I'll have to look into, but should wtill work. Now from the pic you have it looks like you just have the grinder not Grinder/Grinder XR in a checker board type patern

So it looks like they changed the way mods are downloaded in the game. I have tried to refresh the mod but I am not sure if it worked. Here is a picture of what it looks like with the draw distance turned on. There is a hole in the middle in my example and although the corner shows a line drawn on the outside, I am unable to position myself to a point where I can take damage.
