On the controller try pressing Back and Start at the same time. That is how you enable/disable Controller Companion.

when i go into a game fullscreen the controler companion doesnt work for me, only in windowmode

It may be your computer, none of the other subscribers have reported any issues. Are you launching it from Steam? Is it the retail version? Does your controller companion work with other games?
