Any new version with out the overlay? Also the zoom past the normal camera's zoom just goes way out there and has no gradation between standard max zoom and super far out zoom.

So does the block function like a camera that can be used in general too? Trying to get some ideas on how to make a good mantis mech and that view would look great for it

Oh, I recently discovered wide angle cameras as well and they are amazing for situational awareness when zoomed all the way out. I think all cameras should be that way. Maybe change that for all your huds and docking cameras. It's super handy.

Just a static overlay, I may try to add the animated horizon line later, but at the moment I am working on another project.

thats nice and everything but other than the zoom function, does it have an altimeter? a working (animated) horizon line? a target lock hitbox? or just an angular ruler? is the hud just a static overlay?

There is one designed just for the AZ cockpit. You have to place a block on the bottom of the cockpit at the rear of the front inventory hatch then place the HUD on that block and build around it.

Is there a way to use this with another cokpit say the Azimuth's Fighter Cockpit?
I tried it and the alignment was pointing up instead of ahead.
How do you get it to face forward?

Yes this I Know, i play with the hud off most the time just when I am working on something I leave it on i been playing this game since it was first released.

Rockin'. I'll be looking forward to the small ship tiny chip. I love the idea of a clear camera and HUD for drone control!

Tiny little chip coming in next update.
Also slightly changing the original and adding two others, one for the Az cocpit and one for the fighter. It seems that with the last update, it changed the small cockpits so that the same cool interior view is nolonger available (ie seeing the inside of the cockpit) now it looks as though you are looking through the blocks with only edges visible.

Maybe I'm confused. When I used it on my large ship, it was simply a block that was a tiny little chip. I placed them just like cameras, and they work GREAT. I put them next to big gun barrels and missile launchers to act as targeting cameras, and I really love them.

When I went to place one on a drone (no cockpit, just a remote control block) I expected the same tiny little chip, but instead it was a normal vanilla camera, but placed way off from where I wanted it.

I think I misunderstood how this is supposed to be used, but I love having a tiny little camera with the HUD display for my large ships, and could really use the same thing for small ships, as well.

Rhedd - Which Cockpit are you using, it only workes with the original, not fighter version of the cockpit. I am working on developing one for the fighter. It used to work on the Az cockpit but I had to make some changes so now it is a little low. I will release an up date today or tomorrow that works with the Ax cockpit.

This is awesome, really, really awesome, BUT...

The small ship version is completely borked. The camera shows up about two blocks behind and one block above where you actually place it, and I think the view through the camera is turned 90deg, as well. It's hard to tell with the placement being so off, though.

I'm instantly putting these all over my battleship, but my drones would be so happy with you if you fixed the small version soon. (And nobody wants drones mad at them! ^_^)

Place the mod directly infront of Kolts Console add the View Option to your menu. To view press the button and it brings up the hud. It is basically a Camera with exteded Zoom range.

This is a HUD "Heads Up Display inspired by Kolts Cockpit with HUD. It gives you the ability to zoom in and out from the cockpit. It is part of a series of optics I am publishing. The other is a set of docking cameras to allow you to dock quickly.
