@madkirk74 I forget which mod it was, since it was forever ago. Odds are good whatever mod it was at the time is long defunct. But it was just vanilla roads with a road color changer mod to make them darker. I'm sure there's still mods that let you change road color (and tons more these days), just have a search in the workshop.

(also, reminder my mod here is very deprecated and you should use Dendraspis' "More Advanced District Snapping" instead).

Sorry guys, I'm not playing much C:SL anymore. I may get back to it one day, but don't hold your breaths (lots of IRL stuff going on for me right now). The code is public (github in description), so anyone is free to resurrect. Most if it is BloodyPenguin's code now anyway.

Since Parklife update I now get this error message......

@rajwarrior that sounds like it has to be a conflict with another mod you're using. Do you use any other mods that affect districts?

Noticed a bug when I tried this mod out. The specialization icons in all districts showed 2 farm icons only regardless of which specialization was selected. From what I could tell, it did not affect the specialization, just the icon

Ok thanks. Since mounths I wait for a "Crossing designer" . Every crossing looks like the same. I wish crossings with a tree in the middle,
curbsides and "only in this way" streets.

@megabarthi Oh I see. You're confused. The gray you see is the border of the districts being shown. If you look closer, those are the borders of 2 districts (Glade Square and Aspen Heights). This does not affect car movement on roads in any way. If you hide the district display, this will not appear.

The screenshot is only intended to show that with this mod, you can make precise district borders, even down the middle of avenues (which is basically impossible otherwise).

Yes, but if I build some crossing, there is no grey ground on it. Drive the cars above the grey ground?

@megabarthi I don't understand your question. The crossing pictured is just 2 regular, non-modded intersecting avenues. This should be very simple. Perhaps you've accidentally made one of the avenues one-way?

@Business Socks-- I don't use the 81 tiles mod, I'd like to, but I have so many other mods, not sure I want to gamble on compatibility.

That being said, I have both the free updates as well as AD & Snowfall and I'v enot experienced any errors with this mod (toggle district snapping).

I do hope that at some point either you or someone can come up with a way to create districts 'evenly' like with straight lines etc. I know there are a lot of people who play CS who would love that feature.

UPDATE: Exciting news everyone! BloodyPenguin has completed the work needed for 81 tiles to be compatible with this mod! It should all work now.

I don't personally use 81 tiles, but he and I did some basic testing and everything seems to work. Let us know if you run into any problems!

This mod is so necessary!!! I like painting neat district lines, and I thought my game was glitching or something while using the district brush. What an annoying feature to have. Thanks so much for this mod

Good news. After looking at some of BloodyPenguin's code, I've got a working build of a mod option to allow you to choose for yourself whether snapping should be on or off by default. Holding Alt will now toggle it back to the opposite of whatever you chose. This will be an option available in the mod options menu.

@Tesseract yes thanks for the feedback. Personally, I'd like that also. However, as there's about 6000 people using the mod right now, I'm not going to suddenly change it.

However, I've been talking with BloodyPenguin and looking at some of his mods for inspiration. I may be able to add a mod option to make it possible to switch to defaulting to no snap. I'm not sure when I'll get around to this, but it's next on my list.

Thanks for the mod, it's nice to be able to disable snapping, but I'm sure 90% of us (especially from reading the comments) would prefer the default action to be 'no snap'. I'd rather hold down a button when I want the painter to snap to a road!

UPDATE: I've updated the description to reflect Snowfall compatibility:

I have done some initial testing, and it seems that the mod is still compatible with Snowfall (both the free update and the paid DLC). However, it's possible that something else is broken. Please let me know in the comments, along with whether you have the paid version or just the free update.

IMPORTANT: The Snowfall DLC broke a lot of popular mods. BEFORE you blame this mod or downvote or generally be a jerk, do your homework and make sure it's not some OTHER mod that's causing you problems.

I like this tool. Would love it if you could make it so you could still use the w a s d keys for direction when the alt key is pressed as I like to make perfectly straight lines when I paint the districts. I'd like snapping deactivated by default too so I could then use the w a s d directional keys without the need to have alt key pressed. Thanks for this mod.
