Dolynick, I wish to discuss something with you regarding the models you use and possible cooperation for a ship set mod for another game. (Stellaris)

ColSaid here, another small update, found a way around the crashs. Don't use so many fleets at once.

Great game so far, but into my 27+ hour it has started to crash on me. ( tryed 3x's). The tps just before the crash was only a tps= 2.1 as the low.
Was in a big battle with Oko. I had big fleets (about 10 or 12), so did Oko. Guess it was just to much to ask of which the CPU, or the GPU, (i have the GTX 745). just a month or two of saving and I hope to have the 1060, or the 1070.
Would the GPU cause a crash ? I just don't know.
And Oko was fielding only Ships with no supports to, geeeeeeeeeeeWesss, d a r n it.
Three AI's, 500 systerm Galaxy, planets at 250%, (I think).

Small feed back, I had reported that Writh was now doing anything at 14 hrs into the game, anyway I found a way to get him moving. I inslaved a system on his trade rout, and gifted the system to him, and now at 20+ hours he's gone from 7,992 points to 26,752 points. At 20 hours my tps is 2.4 Avg, fps 44.

I'm 18 hrs into the game, looks like I'll have to start some trouble with someone, just Built GLD- Anubis Mk IV, size 5,120.

No, I wouldn't expect that to work out very well. The Goa'uld ships are already using their own custom hull with a higher hex limit than Destroyers. If you want a destroyer, be prepared to design your own and lose the specific Goa'uld hull benefits.

The Oko and the Asgard are basically using basic 2.0 AI, so you might as well ask a dev the same question.

There could be a couple reasons the Wraith stalled. I have some adjustments made in the build version for one case I've noticed since the last patch in which a labor planet can stall expansion out in the very start of the game.

Game time= 14hrs44mins, Me as Goa'uld, points= 106,331, vs Oko, points= 377,789, Asgard, point=86,695, Wraith, points= 7,992, (doesn't seem to be doing much?)
Systems at 500, ina Spiral Galaxy, planets at 250%. AI that are at war are Oko vs Asgard. Ai's set at Hard, Aggressive, no cheats. tps low of 1.9, high or avg = 2.1, fps 59 ( I think ), but anyways no jurking moves. Just wonder why no one is attacking me ? I've most every thing resarched, have built one GLD Apophis Mk IV, a 3320k ship. as my largest.

If you're in the Sandbox, all you should have to do is update a design and tell it to use one of the BSG hulls. After you save it and spawn it in the galaxy view, it should be using the new hull you set.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean.

If you're not using the DOF main mod with the full faction and pre-made designs, then you just have the shipset available. Stock (or old) designs will default to something in the shipset but probably all the same model. You'll have to edit your designs to choose the model you want.

Or is that not what you're asking?

I'm glad that you like what changes I made. We've spoken before about this but I just want to re-iterate that you are welcome to incorporate anything I have done trying to improve things in your own versions. A lot of the work I did on the Cylon textures was done in a hurry and not really properly but it was good enough for now since I wanted to just get an intial release out the door for the moment. There is certainly lots of room for improvement there yet when you decide to revisit it. The vast majority of the content here is still heavily based off your original work (especially the Colonial stuff), I just did some clean-up and added lighting effects in several cases.

You deserve plenty of credit for all the work you've done and your willingness to share it. This is really intended to just be a specialized version of your shipsets for DOF but I'm more than happy to help with general improvements in the original version too.

I have been in correspondence with Dolynick about this shipset, and I got to say it is a awesome to see the improvements and redos of what I had made in my original. I have plans to go and redo my own shipset as well, using some of his techniques but with my own flavor of interpretation. However, I find his work to be an honor to be based from what I have done. Thank you, Dolynick, for your continued work on this!
