This however is best done after warming up with two-handed german longsword drills, performing mastercuts specificly, which are lightning fast winding/torqing motions, usually making use of the short-edge, the back edge in layman's terms.
An Oakshotte type XX blade, I have a sword very similar, a Valiant Armoury Mercanary, which very much like this one only with an S gaurd and a more simplistic hilt.
It should be a Knight's longsword, or at least a Claymore class if Vangaurd- because its blade may be wide, but its also thin, those fullers adding all the more to its speed and agile handling. Don't let "thin" turn you off though, I pell train with it at least almost every other day, and she can take a beating and deliever some hard blows like a champ.
