BetrayedFoxy 19 Dec, 2016 @ 5:59am
I've downloaded the launcher but when i go to install the mods themselves throught the painfully long process it says the mod files dont exist on the nexus
ToxicWyrm 16 Dec, 2016 @ 9:04am
Norinia you have to downlaod the nexus lancher first and get that set up then you can get the mods
Norinia 16 Dec, 2016 @ 6:41am

I don't know how to downlaod nexusmods don't laugh I see tons of mods on there I'd love to download but I've never been allowed to download anything on there so I don't know if theres some sort of process other than click the download (aka our subscribe button)

I just thought it deserved a mention, after reading your post. I used to pay these big rich companies to assemble the PC for me and couldn't help but notice that half of them, probably more, ship with programs that sabotage your PC (because they want you to pay support down the road when these cause problems)
Alpha-methyl 9 May, 2016 @ 12:20am
To me, backing this game up is not even remotely necessary. The way Skyrim mods work means that this is a moot point for most modifications anyway. Not to mention it can be restored via steam within seconds if you did happen to rape some game files. Getting an external SSD just for backup purposes might be nice but it still isn't going to help them run the game if their PC doesn't meet the requirements. This sounds like overkill to me.

and honestly, you're better off just buying the computer parts online and building it yourself. When you buy pre-fab crap from companies that do that, they love to bundle your PC with a bunch of trash-ware that impacts performance even on a top-of-the-line rig.

When you build it yourself, you have total control over every aspect and it will never change due to some software they had installed. Computers are made so that it's very difficult to plug parts in to the wrong places, so it's difficult to really screw up.
Tiber Septim 8 May, 2016 @ 1:33am
I would also recommend that you invest in The 250gig Sandisk SSD Flash-Drive. It's basically a USB 3.0 Flash-Drive/Thumb Stick. You can download THE FULL GAME to this little gadget. YEAH, you heard right. THE WHOLE FUXXIKG GAME. So, if you screw something up you can re-install your data fairly quick. My rig is a heavily modified ALIEN-WARE Steam Machine that has a Full-Custom N-VIDIA GRAPH-X Card, and the operating System been re-written for WINDOWS 10. The Steam OS is CRAP. The ASM is a BARE-BONES PC, so it has no internal HD. With over 200 mods installed and activated, I can run SKYRIM on ULTRA settings and clock 70-75 fps. 0nly $700.00 (NOT COUNTING X-TRA OP SYS MODIFICATIONS)
For a list of the mods I'm using or Specs for my PC send a message to me
Alpha-methyl 5 May, 2016 @ 2:23pm
No. It doesn't change any base content. And it doesn't break anything that I've noticed. I believe I was able to uninstall it in my game without any issues either, though I was only doing it to troubleshoot an issue, it wasn't the culprit, I didn't notice anything.
MY_CRUMPET! 4 May, 2016 @ 8:06pm
Okay.. Will this mess with the names of original games item names? Or brake anything?
Myers 28 Mar, 2016 @ 2:23pm
is there a version in english on steam if not please make one
Alpha-methyl 18 Feb, 2016 @ 1:51am
If the mod just contains a "Data" folder, you will want to overwrite the Data folder in your Skryim directory with it - if it contains "textures" and "meshes", and other files, you'll want to place those INSIDE the skyrim "Data" folder. It just depends on how the mod author packed the files, either way, it works the same, you basically want to replace / add the new files to the existing game files.

Once you do this once, you'll be able to do it with every mod that exists (with a few really complicated exceptions).
Alpha-methyl 18 Feb, 2016 @ 1:35am
Sure - To do a manual installation, all you need to do is register for the site - then you will be allowed to download all the mods on the site. Once you have found the mods you want to use, to manually install them, what you would do is use a program like winzip / 7zip (I recommend 7-zip, but they're both free.) I'd be surprised if you hadn't used one of these programs already though. Anyway, open the mod with 7zip, and then copy the files from the mod you downloaded into the game folder, which is -

C>Program Files (X86)>Steam>steamapps>common>Skyrim (it's Skyrim in this case, obviously). Most mods will be set up in the order you need them from the start - so you extract the "Data" folder to your steam game's "Data" folder, and say "yes" to any prompt to overwrite files. Once this is done, all you need to do is open the Skyrim launcher and click the check-box next to the mod you just copied to the folder.

I DO understand why people are overwhelmed by it at first - it's just such a terrible misconception that you HAVE to use Nexus Mod Manager to use mods from Nexus - becuase it's absolutely unneccessary. I find it simpler to manually install them, than to do it any other way, steam or mod manager included... but I guess that's just me.
MYLORD 6 Jan, 2016 @ 6:03am
I have a glimpse of what the folk there can do, i follow Gopher on youtube both for his lets plays and for the mods he makes himself and for the others he uses. It's a pitty the people that want to stick with steam only or dont want to be bothered to manually install stuff to not have a chance at it. Guess I'll have to go with manual installation then xD
Thanks for the replies.
Alpha-methyl 5 Jan, 2016 @ 2:59pm
I love it, and so I get nasty when people get stupid and insult people who made them something on their own time, without being paid and without selling what they've made - Skyrim especially, is incredibly easy to install and uninstall almost all mods, and there are mods that blow my mind - but a lot of them don't make it on steam, because steam's restrictions are too much for certain people's files.

If you're feeling adventurous, try to download from Nexus. Its tough to screw up your game unless you're messing with super complex mods, and too many of them at that. I run over 200 active mods in my skyrim installation with almost no problems, and very little effort.
Alpha-methyl 5 Jan, 2016 @ 2:55pm
Well, I suppose if that's what you gotta do - just so you know, you can uninstall this mod just as easily without steam. All you do, is uncheck "Wet and Cold" in the Skyrim Launcher. It's very easy, so if you dont like it, you can remove it. I have a feeling you just haven't tried it and are overwhelmed or something, people seem to think it's very complex, manual mod installation, but it's a whole lot less convoluted than every other way, because you do it all from the launcher instead of a separate page on steam..... that's my perspective. Browse the mods on Nexus sometime, there are unbelievably amazing mods, that you aren't going to see on here... just some advice, I've been big into the modding scene since morrowind.
MYLORD 5 Jan, 2016 @ 7:13am
ya i do i'd just rather get it trought the workshop, it's easier to download and if for some reason i didnt like it i could just un subscribe to it :D
Alpha-methyl 5 Jan, 2016 @ 2:53am
For this mod you don't really need it to be in english, as most features work by default, but it helps if you want to configure it. It's very easy to find and install the english version outside of steam, if you know how to use the internet / google.
MYLORD 4 Jan, 2016 @ 8:27pm
does the mod work in enghish in game tho? Or is it just in russian?
Alpha-methyl 4 Jan, 2016 @ 4:34pm
You can try to justify people insulting mod authors over something they have absolutely no control over, but it isn't going to work, because there's no excuse for that shit. You're being provided a service, for free, that's the bottom line.
Alpha-methyl 4 Jan, 2016 @ 4:24pm
What I'm saying is that people not trusting Nexus is fucking RETARDED because it's a FAR bigger and more reliable repository of people's modding work than the steam workshop ever will be, by design. There's nothing to trust - I'll tell you what it REALLY is, it's people not knowing what the fuck they're talking about but for some reason speaking anyway. And now, here you are, arguing with me, in the same situation. I've used Nexus since it first existed, and I never once was lead astray or lied to.

I responded the way I did for a reason, because people who act stupid and start talking LONG before they have anything to actually say, don't deserve to be spoken to as an equal. I'll stop responding the way I do when "alot of people" (you) get smarter and don't necessitate it.
